I love the Gilson! I come to CT several times a year for work and a night at the Gilson is always on the agenda. Unpretentious, fun, first run movies now, great house drinks and a surpising number of menu options. It's a uniquely communal experience and I just wish I had a Gilson where I live.

Interesting place on Friday or Saturday. Food is better than you might expect. Not originally intended as a movies theater, so not the best place if you're just interested in the movie. Service is good. Nice place for a date night. Adult beverages. Fair but not great prices.

Went with a friend, and had dinner. I will never again buy a glass of wine though. $6.00 for a tiny wine glass, 4-ounces is my guess. I was absolutely astonished that I was charged that price for what I got. The sandwich was worth the price, however. The movie was good, seating was comfortable and the view great! Nice folks all around so there was no talking and other pointless noise happening. Price of wine was not the waitress' fault and she was very good with us all. Would love to go again.

A lot of fun. We saw a movie upstairs - haven't been in the part before but it was great. Their menu is much larger then it used to be, reasonably priced and the food is very good ! We had the chefs salad and eggplant parmesan sandwich - both very good. Highly recommended.

Reasonably-priced food and drinks with your movie. I liked my ham/turkey/horseradish sandwich, and eating in a theatre is always the best. The upstairs theatre isn't as nice as the main screen. The sound is OK up there, although it's a bit tinny, coming through speakers more suited for a band.

Dinner theater like no other. Sit in pairs of comfortable chairs with small tables. Order food, drinks, excellent desserts and enjoy a (usually) first run movie. Make a reservation or get there early, popular movies sell out. Smaller theater upstairs so you have two chances to have a great time. Dinner for two including drinks and movie run a minimum of $50, plus tip. Typical meal for me is a cup of clam chowder, sausage and pepper sandwich, pitcher of beer or soda and the not to be missed hot fudge sundae.

Don't go here for the food, but the concept is great. Good place to drink or have beverages before or during a movie, but the food is awful.

It was fantastic! Got to have great food and service all while watching a movie, not too bad on price, completely reasonable. I had a great time taking my grand mother and everyone else seemed pleased as well, no complaints of any kind

Fantastic place to see a movie. Reservations normally required on the weekend. Waitresses serve food from a very decent menu. They also have a full range of adult beverages available. The seating is very comfortable and the price is very reasonable.

First visit. Food and service were excellent. My wife and I both had the chili. We both agreed that it was the best chili we've ever had at a restaurant. I would definitely order it again. The portions were large.

Always a good night out. Friday and Saturday nights are 21 and over only. Other days are 12+ but must have parent. Suggest reservations if going on Friday or Saturday nights. Table service and full bar available. Popcorn made with real melted butter.

Great service. Solid menu I haven't ordered anything that I didn't like. I can recommend the Philly cheese steak and the Ruben. The seating is well spaced so watching a movie and having dinner with full service feels very comfortable.

This is a very nice retro theater. They play current release movies. Food is fair but you don't come here for the food.
