I just went to this theatre to see a recent film. As I walked into the theatre I was disappointed to see that many seats were broken and as I sat down, they were uncomfortably stiff. The theatre had obviously had not been renovated in a very long time. The floor was sticky, and felt it hadn't been cleaned in a while. When the movie finished, at about 8:30 on a Wednesday night, the staff had already left so no one bothered to turn on the lights for us to leave the theatre! I got home and I noticed several small bug bites on my inner thigh! When I tried to call the theatre to let them know, all I could get was a voice recording. No ability to speak to a human. Needless to say, AVOID this theatre!

This is the perfect local movie house. Drive by on any day of the week, and you will see the marquee wishing a happy birthday to various locals. Great restaurants are mere steps away as well as an ice cream parlor and several coffee houses. With its fantastic popcorn and two intimate screening rooms, the Darien Playhouse is a true gem and a wonderful place to see a first-run movie.

This has to be one of the worst movie theatre I have ever been to. Firstly we went to buy some sweets and drinks and the selection is small then after buying $30+ worth of popcorn etc they tell me don't take any card payments when I just paid for the tickets to get in on my card. When I asked if I could pay at the counter for tickets they said no!! Left all my 3 kids hungry and upset prior to the movie. The. Once we got in the theatre stank and the seats where from the 1960's and very uncomfortable. The staff were not accommodating at all. A movie theatre worse then my front living room. Would not recommend to bring your kids here!! Old and not updated. Dave
