You have all the feddbacks of people like you who are consuming the services of AMC Danbury 16 (Movie Theater) in Connecticut.
To this day the business has a rating of 4.2 stars out of 5 and that rating is based on 1462 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is positive, and it is based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may say that the score is very reliable. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to put reviews when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Movie Theater is classified in the category of Movie theater.
Great theater and great customer service! Frequent visitors here. Accidentally purchased tickets for the wrong showtime and the guest services easily got us into the correct theater.
amazing movie theater
It's a theater. It's worth it to see a movie in the Dolby theater or IMAX with the nicer seats as the regular seats are a bit cramped.
I love that there's 3 choices, standard theater, Dolby stereo theater or imax theater and of course all including 3d ...great seats, can reserve your seats so you have just the right seats, separate lines for separate customers at tickets and at food so everyone doesn't have to wait in line if they aren't all doing the same thing. Overall much improved!
Very nice theater! Good options at the concession stands.
Theater was nice, the seats are comfortable, bathrooms were nice and clean. The two rating is because we had to watch commercials for 30 minutes AFTER the movie's advertised start time. Bohemian Rhapsody, scheduled to start at 12:50 didn't actually start until 1:20.
very full. no signage indicating that the show was full. had to wait in line for half an hour to find out there were no seats available
Standard chain movie theatre with expected selection of shows, viewing options, and refreshments. At times, struggles to remain clean and tidy. However, Stubs membership is well worth it and makes viewing movies in theater much more affordable.
Great theater with an IMAX screen in 3D. Some movies you gotta watch in IMAX and AMC Danbury is a nice clean theater with tons of viewing options
IT was the best movie ever
They are amazing place for movies and the workers are also amazing. We got tickets online and by accident pressed the wrong time we wanted for a movie. When we showed up the movie was 20 mins in and the costumer service worker let us pick a show for a later time with no fee and no hasel. Could not be more happier that they did that for us.
Some theaters are better than others. Don't really know what you'll get until you're there.
Absolutely filthy, with horrible service. It is in the worst shape I have ever seen.
The popcorn was fresh and warm. Just as warm as the people who work there. Very polite and welcoming. Everything was clean and comfortable. I will definitely be going back.
Every thing is great but the price of food is a little to much.
Needs to upgrade. This theatre hasn't really changed the viewing experience
WARNING: YOUR CAR IS NOT SAFE AT THIS THEATER!! The building manager will pick cars at random to be towed while you are watching a movie. It happened to my friend's car while we were watching the of Captain Marvel on Friday. Me and my friends and everyone I know are definitely never going back to this place as long as it treats its customers this way.
Excellent staff but the theater is a little dated.
One of the few theaters in the area with Dolby Cinema. it's an amazing experience for watching those big movies. Saw Endgame and the battle scenes are amazing. The IMAX theaters are also very nice.
Danbury's only movie theater got even worse recently. They did away with all the people working the front so now you've got to deal with a computer that doesn't really work well. You've got to pick your seat ahead of time, but no one sits in their assigned seat - probably because they are so poorly labeled that you can't really tell! We take the extra drive and head to southbury or ridgefield's theaters.
They’re great, expensive but great! Make sure you download the app for half off on Tuesdays
Its good here
I don't really like the fact that there is assigned seating now?? Why change a good thing?
Amc theater in danbury need to clean chairs because somethings is wrong in the chairs and i think there is something bites in my leg and it's looks like bugs in the chairs and amc need to clean each chairs in theater.
Not updated, where are the recliners? I just returned from a driving trip across the country and was surprised at the recliners in the movies. Then I came home to find the seats at our theater were updated...with new fabric! The price of my ticket is the same here as in a fully modernized theater elsewhere. Plus they have installed terminals for you to get your own ticket instead of a person. I am not a fan of replacing jobs traditionally filled by young people.
What a joke. You now purchase your tickets at a kiosk. No more personal interaction. You have to pick your seat when you buy your ticket now. I don't know where I want to sit in til I get in the theater. Won't be going there again any time soon. I'll go to Southbury instead.
The theater is clean, there's digital options to purchase your tickets, and they support order ahead for snacks.
The best theater complex I have ever visited.
This place has gone downhill over its life. IMac theaters still have great sound, but man... The bathrooms were seriously neglected, consession lines were unmanageable and the whole theater felt understaffed. The seats were falling apart and for as much as I paid to see my movie, I would expect a better experience. I can't necessarily blame the management as movies are not as popular as they once were, but I'd rather take a drive down to Yonkers to hit a more polished place like Alamo draft house and get a way better experience.
Went to see captain marvel. Great movie. It was an early showing so no crowds. Lights didn't dim when they should have. Someone eventually fixed it about 10 mins into the movie.
Great theatre with great showrooms. Definitely try the Dolby Atmos theatre, well worth it!
Good place
Theater is average, but the website is so laughably bad it's not even worth it. Not mobile friendly and if you want to reserve a seat good luck because it'll randomly boot you every few minutes while you're looking for a seat you want. There's no way to just change the time and see available seats you need to hit back and scroll down to the option you wanted again, and sometimes it'll say seats are available when they aren't. I have tried to buy 2 seats and both times the website booted me before I could, so clearly they don't want my money so I'll go somewhere else.

Improved food options Comfortable seats.
Big theater. Food prices are high, they have discounts for stub members and students on certain days.
What a crock....visiting from out of state....went to enjoy an afternoon of popcorn and a movie. When purchasing at the snack bar, was told by the cashier that there was free refills on the bucket size. Upon requesting the refill, I was told those are only given to those who have the snack card. I don't have AMC theatres near where I live and don't have the card. So disappointed in spending over $13 at the snack bar at this theatre not to have refills.
i was a paying customer, the popcorn was stale. We walked outside not knowing the doors were locked, when we tried to come back in the workers saw us and just looked at us laughing not letting us back in, we ended up leaving while our friends stayed inside because the workers wouldnt even let them open the door for us
The staff is very nice and accommodating. Special thank you to Ryan ! Thanks again !!
One of the very few theatres that is playing the Christian movie Kingdom man rising. Given the volume of people, the lines still moved quickly. Clean well organized.
Great theater, nice staff: BUT We went, with young children, to see the 1:30 PM show of Ralph Breaks The Internet. There were 54 minutes of commercials((including 4 from AMC's membership club). The 1:30 movie started at 2:25. And they wonder why people stay home and stream their entertainment.
Comfortable seating with good viewing. Plenty of movies to choose from. IMAX movie available.
It's a movie theater hasn't been updated in a while but the Icees are cold and the popcorn is not.
It's a reasonably... adequate moviegoing experience, by the standards of most mid-level multiplexes. The theaters themselves have always been clean and well-kept whenever I've gone. The people who work there have always been polite. My problem with the place, though, is the misleading IMAX label they slap on a couple of their screens. You can look into the technical details yourself, but the quick version is this is not a "true" IMAX theater. The screen isn't as large as an actual IMAX and the resolution isn't as high, so you're not getting the huge amount of extra picture you would at one of the real places. It's only a somewhat bigger screen with maybe a little extra picture, which don't get me wrong, that's fine, it's still good quality. But people are buying the expensive tickets because they think they're getting the real thing, which isn't the case. AMC is relying on their customers not knowing the difference between authentic IMAX and what's basically just a big screen with the IMAX logo splashed over the doors into the theater. Not a fan of the deception.
Good movie house. But they have to plan on updating the chairs soon!
Not a fan of all the different lines they have created. Confusing and not really enough of premium service to warrant it. Also, found assigned seats disappointing to not include premium chairs. It was fine. Just getting pickier as cost continue to rise. Hard to know what to expect. Tricky to add plus one when others want to come doing last minute
Always good going here. Just hate the way the popcorn smells because it stinks.
Big theatre, clean, good staff. Good place to spend time with family and enjoy movies. The only negative point is the food price.
The concession stand can be extremely slow sometimes. The lines for tickets can move slowly sometimes because its self serve so when someone doesnt understand how to use the machine it hinders movement. I do like that you choose yiur seats now so you can decode whether or not you what that showtime depending on seats available.
Clean and comfortable seating and I love how you can choose your seat for the online ticket ordering!
I went to this theatre with my family for my birthday. We watched a movie, it was good, just good. I do hope the continued to remain focus, giving the people what they want. I was happy I went . This one of the best so far,. I do enjoyed myself. Parking space for all types of vehicles children could even see the movie, elderly I of a sure , restrooms available, wonderful.
Mostly decent, though wish refreshment stands at ends of building would be open on busy days, not just crowded one in middle. Parking good. Staff usually pleasant. Fun large promotional displays in lobby & hallways.
This place when you walk in is really not worth the look around. It's old, dark and poor lighting. But all the actual theaters are new, dark and very clean. the Dolby stadium is my personal favorite and the best choice to watch Godzilla in.
The show was amazing. The people courteous. The seats were comfy.
Over $4.00 for a bottled water. Price gouging!!!!. I don't go to movies much but I could buy a case of water for less than $4. Bring your own food and drink!!!!!. I can't believe people are willing to pay that. The popcorn was stale had a bad taste to it. Its not worth being ripped off going to this place. And because they sell it with a smile doesn't make it worth the outrageous cost. I guess people are mindlessly spending $$$$. I'm not one of them. I'll bring my own food and drink next time.. The seats were sticky had to wipe down for my daughter.
Not a fan. Place could be cleaner and staff could be friendlier.
Pleasant theater to see a movie
The movie was awesome. Sound system excellent. My only concern are the seats and floor. The seats are comfortable but the armrests and floor need to be thoroughly cleaned. I know theaters are notorious for stick to floors but it shouldn't, needn't be that way. Please clean up after your patrons better
As a stub member of the AMC theaters I am totally pleased to pay a monthly membership fee and not to pay each visit. The Dolby Cinema is great and make the movie going a Joy.
Always clean, easy to get in and out especially with new ticket kiosks. Bargain Tuesday’s and matinee tickets are good deals. I love that they always have the movies I’m looking for.
Good speed in lines and great seating, they know the occupancy of each theater...pretty cool
Clean comfortable inviting.
Improved food options Comfortable seats.

Walking in the door, I was slammed with that smell of POPCORN! WHO DOESNT LOVE POPCORN!!! But also, the seating was great, the sound system was awesome, and the staff was great.
Great movies place
This is the theatre I like to go to for my flicks. They've recently been upgrading the theatre and now have one with the nice cushion recliners. They will still need to update more of their rooms in the future, but I'm sure they will. The theatre is very clean compared to others I've visited.
This theater towed my friend for no reason. Did a horrible job of clearing their snow, leaving tons of the parking spots blocked. When a big premier left people with nowhere to park, people started having to park sideways and every which way to fit despite the snow. One person parked in a crosswalk in front of a fire hydrant. He was not towed. No one else was towed. But the building manager specifically called to tow my friend’s car, despite the fact that everyone was parked like that and many people were parked worse. Not a way to treat your customers, or anyone for that matter
Decent screens and concessions; a surprising number of limited run films make it here.
I love this theater I’ve always went to it my whole life and I’ve never really had any problems with it compared to most other theaters in my area this one is pretty good my one problem with amc theater is that it’s not the cheapest place in any means stuff is over priced
Always have a great experience here. The staff is always friendly and helpful and it's always clean.
Getting into movie was quick, using phone for tickets a dream, and assigned seat seven better...
The movie was okay. But the place was creepy. People don't work there anymore, machines have taken over. Very impersonal !!
Reception was held with coffee and a bucket of popcorn for viewing the 3 contenders of the acadamy award pictures was provided. After each picture shown, the ability to win prices specific to the movies was presented. It was an enjoyable experience and I won a T shirt.
Best theater around, tons of regular screenings also 3D IMAX and Dolby
Reserved seating was easy and the best way to watch a movie.
It was a very good theater, but it was very overpriced.
So just went to see Avengers Endgame, and though I normally don't do movie theaters anymore, I go once in a while for movie I really want to see on the big screen. But I have to tell you, what used to be a great movie going experience, has become a crap show. Nobody works behind the desk anymore, everything is computer operated/handled, which is great for those who actually know what to do, but then you are sitting in line waiting on people in front who obviously can't follow the prompts/instructions which frustrates them and those around them. I say all this to ask, what happened to this thing called customer service, but then every place of business wants a 5 star rating. What a joke, lol!
I was very disappointed that I had to pick seat's in the theater when I bought my tickets. It was much easier when you could just go in and sit down instead of juggling 2 kids, drinks, popcorn and whatever else you're carrying.
Love this theatre !! The air is filled with excitement, laughter, n best of all..... buttered popcorn !!! No matter what's playing at the time, it's a warm, cozy, n family centered place, where all ages can enjoy !! After all.... isn't that what it's all about? Sharing happy memories with those we love and/or care about ? The facilities, (aka bathrooms), accommodations, and workers are: clean, user friendly, and the clerks at the concession center work very hard and are quick. Please keep up the good work. This can be a pricey outing for some, so It's only fair to expect quality in return. Thanks again.
It was a different experience going to the Danbury area but it was excellent overall. The customer service was great which includes concessions and the ticket taker who was great in assistance. The IMAX screen could have been bigger compared to other venues but it was clean and comfortable so we will be back.
It's a megaplex, but AMC does it right. I'm on their Stubb's plan and I get to see movies for $5 every Tuesday! I'm enjoying going to the movies again. Concessions are expensive, but Stubb's helps there too with discounts earned with every movie you see.
Very comfortable. Staff was pleasant. Watched Downton abbey. A lot of fun.
Great theater with great video and audio setups. Not all of them have been upgraded, but otherwise great. The change a while back to reserved seating for most shows was more than welcome
Great movie theater! Best in Danbury!
Had a problem with the projector but it was fixed. Large seats, great sounds, late night shows are the best not much ppl in the theater . Helpful staff
Great experience. Five dollar Tuesdays, AWESOME. Saw Green Card. Loved every second of it. Highly recommended.
Typical theater chain venue, losing it's attraction in recent years. The competition of anytime in home streamed movies shown on modern home theater setups is winning. Now AMC ropes off their grand lobby, requires assigned seeting, may inspect bags, touch screens replacing humans...reminds me of a tense TSA airport terminal. No thanks.
I love the movie the lion king alot.
One of the best theaters I've ever been to. It has everything
I went to the IMAX theater and the seats I reserved were dirty, and the sound was not good. Some more attention should be put on this theater.
The service is nice just wish there were more seats
Roomy, comfortable seating. Good popcorn. First run movies. Plenty of parking. Just a tad high prices.
Easy access and available seating.
If I could give zero rating for a movie that started 30 minutes late and manager with attitude! Didn't have decency to apologize or offer explanation!
The Dolby cinemas! Purely sound and vividly cinema. Beauty!
Seen best movie ever there.... End Game at amc....So worth it!!!
If there's a terrible Snow Storm and you tell them you can't come to work because the roads are bad and there's no way you can get there.. they don't care why you can't make it.. they just want you there, so after getting there and working for like an hour and 15 minutes.. they send you home... so coming into work was all for nothing if you're not really needed. So don't waste your time working there, plus if you're an Usher with two or three other Ushers on a Premiere Night, you're expected to get everything done within the nick of time.. with very little help/not a lot of help at all.
Good theater, not the best attendees
It's a nice theater with multiple screens, I just wish the seats were more comfortable
Walking in the door, I was slammed with that smell of POPCORN! WHO DOESNT LOVE POPCORN!!! But also, the seating was great, the sound system was awesome, and the staff was great.

I love the movie the lion king alot.
One of the best theaters I've ever been to. It has everything
I went to the IMAX theater and the seats I reserved were dirty, and the sound was not good. Some more attention should be put on this theater.
The service is nice just wish there were more seats
I used to enjoy going to this theater, but over the last year or so, they started making changes that make the movie going experience stressful. The first thing they did was slowly replace cashiers with automated kiosks, a practice I disagree with already because it takes the place of an employed human. Now the kiosks are the only option, there are no cashiers at all. So when I was trying to buy my tickets the touch screen was not aligned making pushing buttons a guessing game. This is where the second complaint comes in. The kiosk requires you to pick seats, but since the alignment was off I could not get three seats in a row for my two kids and myself, I inadvertently kept picking random seats, some that were already filled which would then take me to a screen saying that seat was unavailable. It took a lot of tries, and a long line building up behind me added to my stress, but I did finally get 3 seats together, but not the ones I was trying to get... the seats I wanted were available, but because of the faulty touch screen, I could not click on them. The one attendant who was there was busy with other people trying to use their kiosks. When I finally caught his ear he must have thought I was complaining about the fact that we had to pick seats (which is a complaint for another day, but not the problem I needed his help with) because all he said was, "Yes, AMC has been doing this for four months now." As if I should have known better. Because this took so long, by the time I got into the theater the previews had already started and it was dark. My forced-assigned seats were unreachable as three people were already in the row with mounds of food on their laps, and I just couldn't fathom getting by. We sat in aisle seats behind our row and decided if someone did show up, then we would move. But no one ever did. So what was the point? By the time I sat down I was so annoyed with my experience I had wish I hadn't gone. This is not the first time I've had issues at this theater, but it is the last straw. I will be looking for a different theater to go to in the future.
I cannot recommend this place anymore. The automated lines which alot of people can't figure out is just frustrating and holds up the lines. The assigned seating doesn't work. We had people ( a single mother and 3 kids) taking up our entire row which was empty when I reserved the seats. Turns out people were sitting in her seats. So we figured no problem we'll just sit in the seats on the other side of the aisle. Then the people whose seats those belonged to showed up. This happened to us 3 times before we decided to walk out. When we complained we were given tickets to another showing but I can't say I really want to return. I'm really disappointed in how things are being run now and I wont be returning.
Love this theater. Best one near me!
Great show. Clean and great seats. Bathroom was freezing cold. Manager is perhaps a male that doesn't realize females have to half undress to use the toilet. Bbbrrrrrrr
Went to the Dolby theatre for the first time. The leather recliners are AMAZING!!!! Surround sound is incredible, what a huge difference between the regular theater sound & Dolby sound system...literally vibrates your whole body! We had the whole theater to ourselves which was AWESOME. The sound was missing for the first few previews but they came & fixed it quickly as soon as I went & found someone. They need to have someone closer for any issues as I had to run all the way out of the theater to the front where we bought our tickets - there was no one remotely near our theater or in the hallway. But everything else was great. Prices are of course so much more expensive now for food & tickets but it is what it is...otherwise, fantastic experience!
Friendly staff, very clean theatre, comfortable seats, good overall experience.
Have gone here for years and it's great, they just got a brand new dolby audio theater for theater 8 and it is fantastic with great audio and reclining seats
is my favorite theater in Western Connecticut. It's always clean, it has very comfortable seats. The screens are huge. And there's all the new movies playing. they also occasionally have some sort of a deal where you can get free tickets or some other sort of a thing you can do. It's usually not crowded with loud people or annoying people or using their phones. If I really want to watch a movie, I always go here.
Great theater. Clean and updated.
Beautiful theater. Terrific Tuesdays $5.00 a movie. Nice choices at the refreshment stand. Join their movie club and get great deals. Staff is friendly and efficient. Very clean theatre. Lots of parking.
Decent spot to grab a movie, just a shame how run down the theatre is. The consession stand is really a mess aswell. I tend to avoid here if possible. However if you really want to see that new movie, it's fine
Very good movie house but $14.75 for a small popcorn and a small drink? Sort of dilutes the value proposition.
What a wonderful time staff was very knowledgeable and very helpful and the seats were the best
worst seats ever. 5 minutes in I was like how the heck am I going to get through 2 hours of this. i’m thinking maybe i can recline that would help.. nope can’t. a park bench wouldve been less painful. they must not have anyone to clean cause it looks like a gross daycare in there. a hangout with popcorn all over the floor and just sticky.
The prices of the food was fairly overpriced and the seats in my theater were a bit dated. Overall, the experience was okay. It's a convientnt theater. However, for a $13 ticket. I expected better quality.
Too expensive. They now have special "premier" lines that makes you feel like a second class citizen. Overall, the experience is now so poor I wait to see most movers movies when I can stream them.
Not bad. Definitely a grade b movie theater
I'm visiting and what a great, clean theater. The IMAX was amazing!
Was disappointed. Been going here for a while and they had been fine in the past. Recently they changed the setup in the front which funnels everyone to one point causing a long line. On top of that the register is understaffed which makes the wait even longer. I get they're trying to switch to the automated registers but they should set the line up in a way that moves people along quicker.
Great place to see your favorite movies.
Awesome, used my coupons for free lg. popcorn, free lg. soda, free movie ticket, so only had to buy for three others. We were first in the theater and only a few others came in after us. Sound was great, movie was really great, place was quiet and not crowded in the lobby for a change.
Good movie but my date was about 100 pounds fatter than in her tinder profile
not a big movie goer but this place is pretty good I ordered tickets online, and it was very easy. I walked in and scanned my card got my tickets and walked in no lines!!!
