Very cool historic theater. Not much on amenities but staff is great and they really go out of their way.

Actually had Mary Poppins in the lobby to greet guests entering for Mary Poppins Returns! Excellent service and friendly staff! The oldest theater in the United States still offers a fantastic and entertaining experience!

Wonderful way to step into the past. The theater has been restored and some still in the work. Owned by a local family with excellent knowledge of the theaters history. Differently a historic feature not to miss.

Smells like piss. Small but historical seats. They pass out cushions to sit on and charge 1.00 every ticket payed with credit card. Smells really bad!!

From the greeter, a young lady dressed as Bell to every other employee - it was a Fantastic experience. This isn't just a movie theater - this is History. This was A Great night I will not soon forget. I Pray this wonderful place lives on 4ever.

Bob Caudle

Amazing vintage theater with tons of history. Loved the family that ran the ace!

Tom Hay Bauer

A fabulous example of living history. Where better to watch the latest Disney movie than a theater old enough to have shown the first Disney flicks?

Art D

Inconsistent service and horrible staff. Rude and unorganized. The large woman who works at the cafe next door is especially unkind. Horrible woman treating her staff like idiots and terribly rude to potential customers. Do not recommend. Would rather throw my money in the big Thompson than give it to this establishment.

Doreen Oldham

This is a great local venue that sponsors meaningful community events and has a great story to tell about being the oldest working theater and having an early prototype of a sound transfer device - cool!

Julianne Bonner

My daughter and her fiance held their wedding ceremony @ the Historic Park Theater in Jan 2019. We were charmed to discover what an enthusiastic, helpful staff starring, Jenna, carefully put our celebration together. The food was an excellent luncheon, the bar staff very attentive, and Jenna coordinated every thing including music, lighting and setting up the full venue with a smile and professionalism. Thanks for seeing her vision and making us all so happy.

I remember seeing the building when I first arrived to the town. I had never been to a single screen movie theater before. Once you enter the building it was like I stepped into a time machine. I really got to see what it was like to go on a date years ago before we made all these multi screen movie theaters. The staff was very friendly especially the guy that worked at the snack bar. The snack bar prices were actually a lot less than they are at standard movie theaters. I loved the previews where they showed some of the history of the building and how it became. The movie was a regular modern movie, I was shocked when it began the sound and picture quality was what you would expect from a modern movie theater, excellent. Anyone visiting Estes Park should not miss the opportunity to visit this theater, you never know how long places like this will be around.

Had a ton of fun seeing film and learning about this theater's history. Surprisingly good A/V quality too.

Melinda Workman

I hadn't seen a 3D movie here before, but they were doing a special today and had extra 3D showings for the price of 2D. The glasses they have are get high quality. I don't usually care for 3D, but I'd consider it again going here!

Very cool old single screen theater. Theater seemed mostly original. Sound quality was good, movie quality also good. Prices were average for what you’d pay a main stream theater. Drink + popcorn for 8 bucks. Main stream movies- we saw the new Dumbo, and it just came out. Cool old historical place. Wish she’d open it up for simple tours for a few bucks a pop. People would pay it just to walk in. We almost didn’t pay to go in because of the movie showing, but I’m glad we did.

Ben Petersen

Surprizingly cute little theatre, great sound and picture quality and they sell local beer and whisky. The entry way and concessions we're a little awkward and just too much stuff to hang onto at once. Make sure to grab a nice cushion when entering the theatre because their seats are a little older.

No heat, in the winter. We were freezing.

Cool to visit. A lot of interesting history. We Watched Downton Abbey in this theatre build in the time frame of that show!

Jerry Kavesh

If I give them a zero I would. We ordered burgers with Avocado and Bacon - both of which cost extra. The bacon was mediocre and the avocado was not avocado but a very thin, barely visible green, poor tasting spread. Asked for refund for the avocado and they said no. Poor burger and poor service.

Great little family cafe next to the Historic Park Theater, my wife and I had the BLT and both the service and food were great. Estes park is a nice little town, and we were happy to support the Theater and getting out of the summer heat.

Great place to catch your favorite genre, past favorites, and a wonderful Historic Site! If you've never been to a true turn of the century and not the last century the one before theater this is where you want to go!

Skip Horten

Unreal oldest theatre in US talked to owners at length well worth coming here just for this fantasmagorical sorry no pics didn't have phone

Landon Lightfoot

Neat old theater. The theater itself is old, but the movie equipment is modern. Great video and audio. The staff is extremely friendly staff. Reasonably priced concessions. Pro tip: Take them up on the extra cushions offer.

han han

Great tasting bar food and great service.

James Kennon

Excellent place

Paul Joiner

This place is a little odd. It's an old, historic theater. One of the oldest operating theaters in the nation. But, they make you sit on mats that they place on the chairs. A very friendly guy follows you down the aisle and then puts the chairs down with a mat.

Just saw "100 Years of Rocky Mountain National Park." Well done, Nick Mollie. Nick does an excellent job of describing the history of the Estes Park valley, how the National Park came about, and the challenges faced by the people who pioneered this special place.

Cool old theatre. THEY SERVE BEER

Caralyn Doerge

Second time visiting Estes Park with my family, stopped by this theatre so my mom could ask for directions. The woman at the ticket window (white-haired, somewhat stout with glasses) was INCREDIBLY rude to my mother. She was condescending and would not help at all. It took all I had not to confront this woman and give her a piece of my mind. Obviously I cannot review the theatre itself and, because of the way this woman treated us, I will not set foot in it. It's a shame to see a historic landmark being staffed by someone like that. We love this town and will continue to visit, but wI'll cut a wide berth around this place.

Ryan Strom

Super retro and great little theater. Really friendly staff. A must.

Dave Den Adel

Neat old timey place to see a movie. We saw The Karate Kid, the one with Jaden Smith. That sucked, I WILL never get that 2 hours back.

We love going here, it's so charming!! It's historic, so you have to accept that the seats aren't the most comfortable. Visitors to Estes Park should really try to put this theater on the itinerary.

Clay Jeske

Brandon Martinez

Old but nice with new movies

Rocky Bolin

Such a cool, historic building. The seats are the most uncomfortable seats in the world. The screen is 15 years out of date, at least. However, you need to go and experience a movie here. Maybe not a movie you care about the graphics/sound such as a Marvel movie, but I watched Aladdin here, and it was good enough for it.

Very cool! A quaint old-time theater that takes you way back in time.

Saw the new "Men in black". The theater was very clean and well kept. Do not expect the movie experience to be on par with today's new theaters especially the sound. However, I would go back here again to see a film. My one complaint, and there really is no excuse for it was the diet cokes we purchased were plumb NASTY.

Roscoe Terry

Teri Beaver

This old theatre is a piece of history. It's such a special place. You feel like you're walking into a museum, but you actually get to see a movie. We saw Mary Poppins. What a wonder of live action film and animation. And we actually got to meet and take a picture with Mary, too! Speaking of history, though, be prepared when you visit... It's downright chilly due to the antique heating system. Just come early so you can see the theater before the lights go out, and wear a comfortable jacket. They also hand out blankets, and that works too!

Chuck Butts

Limited drinks to 2 is only complaint, but otherwise very neat place.

Karen Heath

Good food good prices

Mary-Kay Deveraux

Came during the winter & had the place to ourselves. The owners were so courteous & nice seeing how they had to show a movie to just 2 people. They made the popcorn fresh & brought it to us. It was an awesome evening. I will drive all the way to Estes just to see a movie now.

Sheila Palmer

Love the popcorn and the movies and the owners are AWESOME!!

Fred Mertz

If you like old movie theaters, this is a great place to go. Don't expect high backed, fake leather reclining seats....but never-the-less, the seats are upholstered and comfortable considering their age. This theater also has an interesting history that you can read about on a plaque mounted outside. They show current movies...we saw The Internship on 6/11/13. Just look for the tall square shaped steeple to find this gem of a theater!

Seeing The Lion King was amazing!! The seats were a bit uncomfortable but they are going to fix that if I understand correctly. The only reason 5 stars was not given is because we really wanted to go to the cafe after the movie but it was closed. All and all a great experience and we will definitely be going back.

Jason Murray

It was very interesting and fun to watch a movie in this historical movie theater .

Andrew Vahlenkamp

We simply stopped by because we heard the lobby was interesting and two bussines owners in town told us there was classic projector which was a must see. The lady in the desk stopped us and told us we talked to loud (we were not) and told us unless we bought a movie ticket we couldn’t look around the lobby. Perhaps if I was allowed to look around the room I was in I would have wanted to buy a ticket, but now I have no interest in going back and purchasing a ticket. I would recommend having better customer service. If someone is rude and demanding I am hesitant to want to buy their product.

Ran Brosh

Cool place, but uncomfortable seats, bad sound and small screen. Pretty great though for the oldest running cinema in the US

D. Mathew Blackburn

Mary Petersen

It's an old time movie theater that made me think of the old one from when I was a kid. Fun and different atmosphere and perfect for a rainy day option in the mountains.

Very cool

Come here for the experience! This historic theatre building is beautiful! It was such a neat way to go and see a movie. The staff was very friendly and enthusiastic about what they had to offer. You could tell that they didn’t just work there, but that they love the old theatre and all of its history. While the theatre is old, the technology is up to date. We saw a movie in full, modern 3D and it looked / sounded great. They did have a bit of a technical hiccup with the projector while we were there but they quickly solved it and had everything up in running in minutes. We certainly enjoyed our time here and it will be a unique experience that we can remember for years to come.

Sue Pfahl

Nasty staff. They charged a fee for using my debit card. Totally against banking rules..

Scott and Jennifer Tibbetts

Fun - oldest movie theater in America that was purpose built as a theater - 1913!

Mitch Clinton

Cheryl

Nice place...Denver prices with very old comfort..

Jennifer Jarpe

The theater itself is a wonderful piece of preserved history, and I thoroughly enjoyed my movie (The Lion King 2019)!

Sergio Jr.

My family and I watched the new Beauty and the Beast movie there. It was terrific! The theater still has a very historic feeling and nothing has been over modernized. The seats were not the most comfortable but thats how it was back in the day. It felt like what I would imagine watching a moving picture in the 1920s would be like. Even though the theatre is very historic, the screen and movie showing was very crisp and clear.

Christopher Smart

Andy Adventuring

Easily the most interesting and charming theater you'll ever visit. Historic Park Theater claims to be the oldest running theater in the county, and it shows (in a good way). The floor is wooden, the chairs are vintage, and the walls are lined with rugs. Despite its vintage appearance, the projector and sound system were excellent.
