No wheelchair seating at all. The performance was wonderful, but I had to sit sideways behind the last row of seats which was very uncomfortable. It would be so simple to remove a couple of seats at the end of rows on the aisle like most theaters do.
We saw a sold-out comedy show and had a great time, but the theater is way too small to accommodate a full capacity audience. It took almost an hour just to move from the entrance to our seats because we were moving an inch at a time in a crowd, like cattle, and it was far too busy to be able to get a drink at the bar before the show started.
Went to see Hanabal Buress here. It was a great time but the line was insane and they dont have a good method of getting people to their seats in a timely manner either.
Used for Conan show, great theatre. Beautiful stage.
Beautiful theater. This was my first time here to watch Star Wars Burlesque show. The sound came off clear from the mezzanine section. My only con is the theater is so old that if you're a tall person there's not much leg room in your seat.
Wow! Such history! I had met a man whom told me on how he was a bell hop across the street at the US Grant hotel and shared a few awesome stories on Speckles history. Love the architecture!
I love it, it is really helpful
Great facility
Classic vintage theatre! Great experience when Conan was visiting. Love old theatres like this!
Dated. If you are 6' + be prepared to hate your height as the seats give you zero room for your knees. The AC is pretty much non functional. But the show and sound system used used by Conan was great. If you have sensitive ears bring ear plugs.
Beautiful little theater. Nice and clean with friendly staff. Would see another production here.
So this is an older downtown theatre in San Diego and has not been up dated for a while. Do not let that detract from the value of the performances the company puts on. Well worth the effort. It is a bonus there is cheap(10$) underground valet parking which you can gain direct access to the lobby safely if you are a single woman not wanting to walk to outside parking lots, so over look the peeling paint. They do have a bar, lines can be long but take cc and cash. Sippy cups so take into the performance

The Nutcracker in this venue was terrific.
Fun
This is the most charming theater in San Diego. All the seats are good and it has a great classic look to it. It hosts a lot of good productions, especially those by San Diego Musical Theatre.
3 bartenders for 1500 guests at a comedy show. Doors opened 30 minutes before show. Line for a glass of wine was over an hour. Half of the audience missed first act and part of main act. Video screen kept overheating and interrupted comedian's act. Very amateur event planning. We won't visit this venue again.
Saw the Nutcracker ballet and it was spectacular!!!!
Live theater
Really great venue lots of history. And the staff was very good. Good times
The show I came to watch was dance show by Culture Shock. Everything was wonderful! The older lady that helped me was super kind and informing. I also loved the seats and how everything was organized. I definitely enjoyed my show and will be coming back for more in the future!
Intimate and historical. However, the concession stand could use some upgrades and more staffing to handle volume better.

One of the most beautiful venues in California! AND, one of the largest Fringe venues in North America for #sdff14 We absolutely love this theatre!
nice theater
Nice theater, great acoustics for concerts. Parking is a little scarce in the area so be prepared. Several great restaurants near by.
Very rude and terrible staff. I missed nearly half the show because another guest was highly intoxicated and threw up all over the ground and seats next to me and several other people. I waited 20 minutes to see if anyone would come clean it up and nobody did. I then went to speak to a manager about the issue Incase they weren’t aware, he immediately told me I was not going to receive a refund without even letting me finish my sentence. I was told all staff was busy including the manager who I spoke to and he claimed he was also busy and he would go clean it up once he was free. The stench of the throw up was unbearable several people moved from their seats and the manager Sean Davis did nothing to accommodate. His only solution was for me and my group of over 14 people move. The only seats available where further back and we specifically bought out the row that was 4 rows from the stage. Aside from this before the show began I went to buy a snack and a water bottle from their own con-session stand for the show, as I re-entered the venue one of the employees stopped me and stated “make sure you don’t leave your trash behind”. It’s unbelievable how rude they were, the staff here has never heard of customer service I guess. I am never coming back here, very poor management. There’s several other venues in San Diego that provide for better experience and service. You’d think they’d invest more into their management considering the historic building is over 100 years old. Very disappointed
We were unable to go into the actual theater but we were allowed to explore the building. Very cool and very period.

We are going on our 3rd year in this location for the San Diego International Fringe Festival and this venue has been an absolute dream for us.
Big seating area and stage not proportional to the stage. Especially in the upper stands. Other than that, decent venue. Gives you what you expect.
Nice theater for shows, Overpriced food and drinks though
Best venue I've been to for a show. Every single seat is awesome. If it's a show where everyone stands (rock concert), beware of sore feet from standing at an angle all night.
I love this historical site
Classic design. This is a theater designed in the 1930s. Seats are small and close together with zero leg room for a tall or large person like me. Show was great but seating was uncomfortable. You have been warned.
Awesome experience!!
It was so fun watching Conan O'Brien at work. He was super funny and the tickets didnt cost anything. One of the best experiences I've ever had
Beautiful architecture and lots of awesome history.
El teatro esta espectacular y puedes disfrutar el evento desde cualquier sección!
Great atmosphere
Gorgeous and historic!
BEAUTIFUL THEATRE! Absolutely stunning building. Great layout, great decorations. Clean and amazing staff.
Good plays...not kept up well..has not been cleaned foe sometime
Very cool venue
Saw Conan there was a blast
Beautiful theater
Good place
Beautiful historic theatre.
Awesome place to watch a concert or a play!!
Grate old theater. Mezzanine seats have very cramped legroom.
Famous Spreckels Theater! Photo of the famous side doors to the stage, one on each side. This allowed easy access to the stage for set up! It allowed horse drawn chariots to be driven accross the stage to wow the audience!
We attend the San Diego Musical Theatres productions here. The theater is old and shows some age, but the architecture is beautiful. Park in the NBC building and walk over. Valet parking is available in the theater lot underground, but gets pretty congested at leaving time.
A beautiful historic theater. Keeping it this way has it's challenges - narrow rows, steep steps and uneven air conditioning. It would take much money to remedy the situation.
Fantastic
Very comfortable seats and it's hard to find one that doesn't have a good view. Can get a little stuffy inside at times though, especially in the lobby if there's a lot of people and it's hot outside.
Classic.a charm.historic.support it.
Beautiful historic theater with easy access , street or underground parking garage. Lots of dining choices for before and after the show.
Such a beautiful theatre! And I appreciate how much they give back to the community, like donating venues for the San Diego International Fringe Festival.
Nice interior but does not have enough bathrooms.
Great historic theater in downtown San Diego.
1st time at Spreckels, was left in awe! Very well designed, with comfortable seating!
The a.c. was non existent people left in the middle of the show. Screaming kids because of the heat is not a great experience. Please fix your a.c..

Beautiful and historic, a bit warm though in the summer.
Seat was too close to the seat in front, you pretty much have to empty half the row if someone in the middle needs to use the restroom
We appreciate Spreckels Theatre bringing the film Vaxxed to Novi for an extended engagement this May. The theater staff has been very accommodating and we've found the facility to be clean and very family friendly. Hats off to Chris too in the Concierge area as well as the management and Spreckels Theatre group sales person Kyle Sinclair.
Beautiful old building. The seats are tight and the view is alright from the balcony.
Nice theatre
Love the farmers market on the side of spreckles on fridays
This theater is definitely piece of nostalgia. Being an older theater it offers a great feeling of the times, but is in definite need of some upgrades especially to the the seats. Saw Conan O'Brien here for Comic-Con The building also houses several several offices for small business, which gives visitors a chance to see what else is in the, but can make it quite cumbersome to navigate around.
Beautiful theater.
Good venue and decent acoustics.
It's always a treat to catch a show at the Spreckels!
Great classic theater. Needs to be maintained better.
Beautiful old theatre. Seats are not very comfortable but for 2 hours they are fine.
Watching the Conan taping with the cast of Glass! Amazing!
Beautiful theater in the heart of SD, historic and awesome. Limited drink service, plan ahead. Also, if you're afraid of heights stay out of the balcony. It's steep! Sound quality is not great in the balcony, at least for a comedy show. Echoes make it very difficult to understand
I visited for Dan Harmon's Harmontown podcats during San Diego Comic Con 2016. The theatre was extremely nice, and the ushers and other staff was very friendly. I was in a hurry, so I didn't get to look around, but from what I remember, it was a REALLY nice place.
Wonderful old theater. As such, seats are small and close together but still mostly comfortable. Be sure to park at the theater if possible, we made the mistake of parking at the Horton plaza which cost me $26 for about 3 hours! There are light refreshments in the lobby but best to hit one of the many restaurants and bars in the area before the show. There are three directly adjacent to the theater. There is no flash photography allowed during the ballet performance, so probably similar rules for other events. As for the city ballet performance, it ranged from contrived to inspiring as the night went on. It was clear what everyone had put the most work into: requiem. The symphony and chorus stole the show at times, and several of the dancers were outstanding. A night at Spreckels is well worth your time and money, whatever the occasion. Looking forward to returning in winter for the Nutcracker.
Great theater hosts events and shows worth visiting, all that on top of an eye catching structure and a truly royal feeling while there. The staff is super friendly as well.
My husband and I purchase Orchestra seating tickets $60 each for Cirque D 'Or for Saturday, January 24. The 7pm show started late at 7:30pm (no explanation), there was no printed program, no staging/backdrop, professional lighting or serious talent. The mostly Chinese troop consisted of tumblers no better than a High School Cheer squad, wearing shorts and T-shirts (gym clothes) and a group of girls prancing around in yoga pants and green T-shirts. The juggler needed a girl on stage to hand him balls when he dropped them (repeatedly). This was amateur hour with only 35 minutes of performance the first half, and 30 minutes the second half with a 15 minute intermission lasting 30 minutes to fill the void of no talent. In fairness the female contortionist was very talented and the tight rope walker was good, even though the rope was just 2 feet above the floor (probably good considering the amount of mistakes made by other performers throughout the night). The show ended with the troop clapping for themselves. This is a rip off on the high quality productions offered by Cirque D' Soleil and it is obvious why this show only lasts one weekend…word of mouth would result in empty theater seats. Does anyone pre-screen the productions you book at Spreckels Theatre? Obviously not. You have lost me forever as a customer…this ripoff is unforgivable. The Chinese must be laughing as their evil plot for redistribution of wealth from the USA to Chinese succeeded yet again.
The summer organ festivals are festive!

Cool theatre in central San Diego!
The summer organ festivals are festive!
Beautiful historic spot.
Beautiful. Historic. The city ballet did a beautiful Nutcracker!!
The parking garage is completely unprofessional. I will never come here again.
Love seeing Conan here each year at SDCC
Awesome!
Classic venue and I always enjoy going here.

Love the intimate and historic decor of the interior
Great Venue for concerts and events
(Translated by Google) Excellent place. (Original) Exelente lugar.
Beautiful art and decor. Nice acoustics
A great place to hear a concert, as I did. But I know the period styled theater has many different performances. The sound is excellent. The theater only seats a bit over 1400. It is located on Broadway amidst many restaurants. Parking is a bit expensive, a walk of a few blocks will save you money and provide more parking lots to choose from. The area seems safe, with plenty of others walking around and a police presence. Plenty of rentable electric scooters all over. Enjoy the Spreckels theater.
Loved it
This theater is old and small but has an interesting venue.
I loved my meet and greet but the customer service is horrible. Has nothing to do with drag show but people working here wouldn't let ppl in meet in greet when they got here in the window time and pretty much told them no dice. Hope s Ru Paul drag show doesn't pick this place again to do their show
It's an amazing theatre in the heart of Downtown San Diego.
An SD staple!
Loved Ballet Swan's Lake here. That being said.....for a city like San Diego, it could definitely use a facelift! Please find a way to use front entrance for high (standup round tables) for intermission coffee & cocktail time. Give caterers a job, to try it out. Please DO SOMETHING! Intermission is NOT FUN!
Always a good time.
Conan!
It was a beautiful old theater. It was clean. Easy to find our seats. The staff was friendly and helpful.
My wife and her friends went to a show here and less than halfway through a manager came over and asked them to leave for talking. No warning, just leave. When my wife requested a refund, he pushed her in the face with his hand! My wife was totally shocked and felt humiliated by this man! This guy should be fired as soon as possible before this place gets sued, you can't assault your patrons! Never going here again, and I wouldn't recommend letting unaccompanied women go to a show here.
Wonderful, historic theater; top notch performances.
Beautiful restored retro theater.
