This Movie Theater is classified in the category of Movie theater.
Okay ish venue, seats are too close. Full house for the Kirk Franklin concert and combine that with a poor A/C system caused the venue to be pretty uncomfortable. Despite that, beautiful interior design and historic feel.
Cool place. Glad they saved an old building that people can still enjoy.
I always enjoy events held at the Crest. It is kept up very well, to maintain it's historical nature. I only wish that the steps to the upper level were not quite as steep.
It's a lovely theater but take note: if you are a tall the seating at the aisles may work out well, I was mid row and my knees were well into the seat ahead of me. Other than that my evening was great and attended to by kind and helpful staff.
We went on a date here. Super cool place. Can buy tickets from a vending machine. They sell beer and stuff. With recliner seats! Super cool
Kevin Bracey was awesome! #kevinbracey
I came here for a graduation in June and then again tonight August 13th for a concert. I was in the balcony and the air wasnt that bad
Loved Nathan Carter last night the show was amazing, my mom is from Ireland Co Mayo and she just really enjoyed it . It made her miss home. It was simply Grand. Great place to see a show.
Beautiful..... great venue.....Scott Stapp was an awesome concert!!
I go there because of the acts. The seats however are awful and need replacing. The interior architect is great
The seats are really jammed together, and there is very little leg room. It's nice in so far as it's cool-old, and it's well kept up, however.
Beautiful old movie palace, nice place to see a show or a movie.
Awesome bldg, with great performances.
Beautiful venue, close parking, great show.
#classic #landmark #auditorium #historic Thanks for having Miracle on 34th Street on the big screen!
The Day of Dance was awesome. Studio T ... I have my new shirt...Dance Dance..
Beautiful old Art Deco theater. We love this place
Pretty good. Watched a children's theater show here. It was okay for a kids show. Would like to see an adult production here. This was such a unique, old space. I would come here just to look at the old architecture and decoration of the building. Truly unique.
Always love the Crest. Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular is not their fault. It is NOTHING like it used to be or should be anymore. We always love visiting this awesome piece of Sacramento history. It is SO beautiful. No matter what event, it is a great venue.
Saw Brian Regan with my fiancée, super funny and beautiful building!
I've seen many shows at the Crest, and plan on seeing many more. It's a great venue, a classic ornate theater that feels intimate. We're lucky to have this special place here in Sacramento for touring artists to play when they come through town.
They show old movies you can't see anywhere else.
Beautiful theater always a joy to watch performances or movies at this historic venue.
It was cramped and crowded and really really HOT not what I would expect of a concert!!! The only refreshments was a large popcorn for $5 a pretzel for $5 a candy bar was $4.50 and a damn bottle of water was $3.50 I would think a theater would at least have hotdogs. I truly didn't think the acoustics were all that! Not at all a place for a concert! And no close parking I was rather dissappointed!!! But I loved Dwight Yokum!!!!!!!
This is an absolutely gorgeous turn of the century art deco movie theater. The kind of theater threats makes you feel like you're in a movie yourself. The seats are pretty close together, so getting in and out can be disruptive, but they're remarkably comfortable for being such old seats. The concessions are reasonably priced, but really you go here for the experience of an old school movie palace.
Buk Buk Big Ups plus the Eraserhead.. Classic
Seen Puddles here and it was an amazing Venue!
Good acoustics. Pricey drinks
Amazing venue for concerts, every seat is good.
Enjoyed the movie there, very old but cool
Great venue with no bad seats
Fantastic venue! We saw Buddy Guy here...the sound quality of the room and intimacy of the building make for a great concert!
Owners are shady. There is always crazy homeless people all over the place!
Love that this theater is saved and still in place however it is so run down that I fear I will not last long. Seats some of the are missing the wood arm rest, and seat room and comfort are going to be quite bad becoming quite like a bad coach flight for three hours. I enjoy the movies and shows I have been to here yet I think I may not return again.
Beautiful theater, helpful staff and comfortable seats. Sound system was perfect too. Parking was close and price was reasonable as well as restaurants. Will definitely return for future shows.
Great old retro theatre! Comfortable seats, yummy popcorn. Good acoustics!
I've been to Crest Theatre three times so far (twice to see Colin Hay, and once for Blue October), and I love it! The decor is beautiful, the sound is amazing, the whole vibe is nice. I see a lot of people eating popcorn and snacks. I can't bring myself to do that during a concert so far, though. Maybe if I see a movie someday. Haha The staff is helpful, and very nice. I really can't think of a bad thing to say about Crest, except the parking situation isn't fun or easy. However, that's more of a city thing, and not their fault. I'd recommend this theater most definitely!
Other than all the flys hovering near the entrance, nice for an old theater. We watched the 48 hour Intl Film festival challenge here.
Beautiful restoration. Acoustics are good, refreshments are pretty nice too.
Feels like stepping back in time. This theatre is absolutely gorgeous inside and every seat is a great view. They have a snack bar with exactly the same things you would find at a movie theater. Everyone should experience The Crest at least once. Garage parking is very close and its surrounded by many dining options.
Saw Blue October. Excellent show. The Crest theater is built to entertain. The decor was nice to look at while waiting for the show. Fun times!
Beautiful old movie palace turned into a concert venue. The decor is art deco and even the artist remarked mid-set about the beauty. Seating was comfortable enough but the seating pattern was a bit obtuse. The lack of ushers made finding our seats a small adventure.
Crest theater is the bomb. Great venue with restaurants all around within walking distance. Check out the Dive bar across the street with a live mermaid.
Just saw the Alfred Hitchcock movie, Rear Window, last night. It was really cool to see a classic movie in such a beautiful classic theater. The vibe really brings you back to a different time. Just a beautiful building with classic decor.
I saw TODD RUNDGREN. his career spans 6 decades!! He is awesome. The Crest theatre is magical. The acoustics are great! U can c a show for a reasonable price and the theatre is small and intimate.
Oh, I don't think I can say enough good things about this place. Very San Francisco vintage feel. Ornate designs and blue lighting. Nice seating, great sound. They serve snacks, beer, and wine. I have seen speaches, movies, and shows here. I am so glad Sacramento has this place. No GA. All seating. Choose wisely.
I have seen many concerts and movies here. The art deco interior is awesome and the location is close to tons of great dining and after hours entertainment. Highly recommend seeing a classic film here, they play them all the time!!
Great theater! Listened to a concert...was really nice.
Take a beautiful walk back in time! Wonderful experience! I will be back!
Love a art Deco design . Yesterday's charm and ambiance
For a movie, the screen is too small and the seats are not very comfortable. Not the ideal place to watch a classic movie for the first time.
This a grand old theatre, full of nostalgia, ski don't expect reclining seats or even cup holders. The architecture and decor are gorgeous, and they even sell alcohol. Overall, a fun experience.
Beautiful architecture! The mood of the concert was so comfortable and the lighting really added to the ambiance. Amazing acoustics.
Such an incredible night in one of the most beautiful theatre's in Sacramento. Beatles extravaganza by SPMA Guitar Project, which included a 40 piece orchestra.
I loved the old stile wish there were more of them left.
Beautiful theater, I'm absolutely in love! Clean, comfortable building with friendly service, worth a visit for sure!
Great small concert venue. No bad seats in the house.
Super cool atmosphere, only thing I didnt like was the struggle to find our seats. The signs were not helpful at all and many ppl where lost
Beautiful. The movies are amazing classics. Definitely will be coming back to support!
Great location, beautiful interior, spacious on the inside, optimal seating and sound design. Great for hosting or movie watching!
Great venue took girlfriend to see Ruben Studdard awesome concert. Great place to watch a concert 1st there we will return
Was a great piece of history to show my son when we went here with his school to see a play Charlotte's Web. It was cool to be able to see all the old architecture and interesting style on the inside that you don't see obviously anymore.
Beautiful facility, no elevators, we have never sat on upper level, but that is where we could get tickets. Made it hard on my friend who has trouble walking. Staff directed us up the wrong side of upper level so we had to walk down and back up the other side.
What a great classic venue. Beautiful building and great seating arrangement.
Saw Miranda Sings there! Place is beautiful but the seats are so close together.
I'm not gonna lie, I had a really good time at this event. Miranda Sings was hilarious! She was on time, funny throughout the entire show and the atmosphere inside was family oriented...However with that being said, the area of the Crest Theater has gone downhill bad! There were homeless people sleeping on the sidewalks with all their belongings, garbage along the gutters that smelled so bad my daughter and I could barely get out of the car without holding our breathe. The alley ways had personal belongings scattered everywhere. My 13yr old was scared...The restaurant we went had nice people, but it was very run down. The seats were stained badly and the vinyl was peeling and cracking. The carpets were just as bad. If Sacramento wants to hold events geared towards families or kids, they need to clean up their act a bit... I used to love coming here..
The classic moulding and decoration throughout the theatre is beautiful. The folks bringin films like Labyrinth are kind community minded. Great experience!
Quirky little jewel in our crown! Check frequently for upcoming events because some really interesting shows come through the Crest. There's a full bar and it's always a good vibe.
Perfect for small intimate concerts, energy and music sounds are projected real well
Went for the Oscar nominated animated short films. Always a fun time!
Super cool place. I have seen movies and live music and it's always great. It's super historic inside so no reclining chairs. I love the nostalgic feel and they serve wine and beer!! There is always a cool classic film showing.
one of my fav theatre's to see a concert!
Beautiful old theater and great place to see a show.
I had a nice experience there. Our film festival is going well.
Loved the old school atmosphere...high ceilings, like you stepped back in to an old timey play theatre, great venue but I wish there was an actual bar there also
Saw Blue October here and wasn't disappointed. Beautiful building
We went to the Crest with a group of six to watch Tommy Wiseau's masterpiece The Room. The theater is lovely and the staff is super polite. It is really just a sweet place. We really enjoyed our experience at the Crest Theater and how to have many more experiences there.
Great venue with beautiful architecture but could use a deep cleaning.
The place was great & the show was awesome
Love that grand old school feel
Super cool place to see a movie or a live show
very pretty. Saw wonder woman in a few years ago and the sound quality was awesome. Recently attended a graduation here too.
Interesting. First time here.
It's a old theater well maintained a lot of good events take place there.
This place is so beautiful! We were recently there for a screening and I was just in awe of how much character the Crest has.
Pretty small interior with just one large hallway outside the theater itself. The theater is actually pretty ornate inside but the stage they used when i was there seemed about as large as one from a highschool if not smaller
I have never been so distracted between the beauty of a venue and the enjoyment of the music. The Crest is on my list of go to venues in the future. It is intimate, the staff is so kind, and there is an understanding among all that one is in a historical place enjoying the moment.
We went to see Kip Moore. I love this venue!
Seats were rather narrow for a wide feller like myself but the design is very cool.
Historic theater on K street.
Incredibly gorgeous venue, so historic and preciously-preserved! Saw an amazing movie on Sammy Davis, Jr.'s life during tonight's Sacramento Jewish Film Festival. Great crowd, great film, yummy snacks, and free birthday cake and more to nosh, along with a no-host bar. A gem of a movie theater for Sacramento!
I went to see Lucinda Williams last night and got kicked out for having a good time. Not a good place for a concert. The bar is a joke. It is great place to go if you want to stay in seat and be silent
It was a lot of space and a modified old theatre.
Best place to see a show.
Loved Kirk Franklin. His event was Awesome! !
Pretty awesome venue.
Get large venue, tons of seating, great sound. Beautiful building. We honestly had a blast here.
Excellent venue to see a band perform. Not a bad seat in the house and the acoustics are sublime.
Wonderful place just to look at. I have seen several great performances ther
A great place for a concert! Much better acoustics than the "pit" (golden 1) will ever have! Also has great handicap seating (Just wish they could weed out the ab's that buy up the handicap seating! Leaving no seating for the people who really need the seats!
Nice older theater on the inside. Side note the front entrance right outside smelled really bad. But nice on the inside.
Great venue for a smaller concert or movie viewing. It has a 1930's Speakeasy type of decor.
Absolutely beautiful theatre. We attended the Tiffany Jenkins show, and all of the staff were wonderful, very courteous and helpful. We appreciated and enjoyed the selection of refreshments provided, the mixed drinks were fantastic, and the bathrooms were spacious and surprisingly clean, considering the full house attending. The auditorium was wonderfully lit, and the only complaint we had was that the leg room was very narrow, and everyone had to constantly get up and shuffle around whenever someone was getting up or sitting down. However, there was an excellent view of the stage, we could see everything clearly from where we sat in the HH row.
Great place for a venue... I'm a big guy tho. 6'-2" 225lbs so I found the seats to be a little small but it's a beautiful place.
Fun time too crampt
So far this is my favorite place to see concerts! Spacious yet still intimate.
Very nice art deco theater, beautiful building, and an excellent place to take in a more intimate show or concert. Ruben Studdard was outstanding!
The Sacramento Crest Theatre is of a style rarely seen these days, with its Baroque architecture inside, 1950’s velvety feel in the foyer and unmistakable vertical marquee outside. By far the preferred Sacramento small venue for music lovers and the musicians they love. There are no bad seats in the house, although there are choice ones for those who purchase tickets early and can afford the $10-$20 additional cost. What makes the 1000+ seat venue so special is the intimacy between the performers and the audience.
Best small venue, saw The Kingston Trio and Gordon Lightfoot there. Fabulous place.
WOW!! Crest, your the best! Wonderful restored theater! Great place for a holiday movie or date night...
Love this antique theater! Its so old and pretty much original! So awesome
Beautiful theater and friendly staff. Great venue for live shows and movies. We drive up from Walnut Creek to see favorite performers a couple of times each year.
Nice theater. They need more help at the concession. The line was long and slow. And it closes soon after the movie starts.
I'm pretty obsessed with the architecture of this place. If you appreciate building design at all, it's worth a visit for that sake alone. The seating is smallish and squeaky, but it would be a crime to upgrade. That said, I sat through a three-ish hour show there a while back and definitely wouldn't want to sit for any longer than that!
I really need to go see more concerts at this venue. I can't image that there is a bad seat in the house.
I love the classic movies
Great place to see a concert. Do not park on the street, the signs on the side streets are a little confusing and if you're there past 10pm you will get a ticket. The ticket people show up at 9:50pm every night just to give tickets out. The theatre has a bar and drinks are allowed inside. Get there a few minutes early. Line is never too long at the bar but can get 10 or so deep right before the show. Ticket booth will sit you in certain places if there are seats, you can describe the type of seat and location and they will do their best to find it. I asked to have an end seat and if possible no one beside me, he found me that seat, priceless. If you park in the garage nearby the line trying to pay for the parking at the single machine can get to 50 people long and take you half an hour or more. Leave early by a few minutes if you can.
The concert itself was wonderful. I am only rating the theater. When you go to Crest, you are in for a truly "vintage" experience. Which is good and bad. Visually the theater is stunning. Functionally, meh. Small seats, confusing seating assignments, small concession area. Bathroom, concession, and merchandise lines get all mushed together and so confusing. Very sardine-ish.
Great old theater, mostly used for concerts of all sorts. Nice staff. Can be tough to find street parking, but there are several garages nearby.
Beautiful old theater! Sound is spectacular and seating isn't super tight. There's plenty of parking too close by.
Amazing venue. Fantastic shows. Elegant setup. One of a kind Sacramento theatre. Do your show here if your big enough to fill it up!!!
Beautiful theater! You need to go just to see the theater alone. Full bar and snacks. I have been to movies and events here and it's always great.
This place needs some updates asap
An astounding ambiance. Comfortable seats as well. Not a not of leg room, but still very worth the slight discomfort.
Best place for a inside Venue to see a concert..ALL SEATS ARE GOOD
One of the absolute best venues in Sacramento. Beautiful theater with amazing acoustics. I can't count how many shows I've seen here. Local craft beer is available at all the shows, too. Pics are from Rodrigo y Gabriela.
Beautiful art deco era venue. Not a bad seat in the house.
Love this venue. Not a bad seat in the place!
In the heart of downtown Sacramento, surrounded by dozens of really good restaurants, there is a really classic venue for live music. The exterior and interior of the building harkens back to the by gone golden age of the theater. It is a feast for the eyes. But don’t be fooled! The place has great acoustics and features artists that are often world renowned especially in the field of modern jazz. You have not lived in less you’ve heard a live jazz concert here at the crest.
DeVry University loves seeing our students graduate at this venue!
Great concert, Ruben Studdard's Luther Vandross tribute was electrifying. Two great voices hugging the world. The Crest Theater is a beautiful work of art in itself. I always enjoy the opportunity to visit the venue.
What a beautiful theater. Step back in time. Lovely. It's vintage charm will win your heart. We had a lovely time. A few heads up. Bathrooms are small as are the seats, think airline cheap seats. The accoustics seemed good, though we saw Randy Rainbow versus a concert. Theater allows beverages in the seats. A nice touch. Though tight seats and no cup holders could lead to spills. The Crest Cafe, next door, was perfect light fair before our show.
Rocketman show was fabulous
Kind of small and tight. Long ways up to the nose bleed section, but we made it. There's better venues in Sacto. I would only use the Crest Theatre as a last resort.
Much larger inside than expected. Alcohol is served courtesy of Empress Tavern, food options limited to popcorn and soft pretzels.
Nicely restored historic movie theater. And especially like the announcer, who really got you involved with the film.
Great 1940s look and feel.
Clean and spacious, friendly staff.. overall a great venue
