We've got the opinions of real people who are buying the services and products of Orpheum Theatre (Movie Theater) near Arkansas.
At present this firm receives a rating of 4.7 stars out of 5 and this score has been based on 2347 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is basically the best one, and it is based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can conclude that the score is very faithful. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to put reviews when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Movie Theater is included in the category of Performing arts theater.
Hamilton was amazing, engaging, funny and emotionally captivating! Go see it! The Orpheum is a phenomenal theater and I always enjoy each trip. We had great seats in Row K. The lighting and sound were spot on. The staff was friendly and helpful. Can't wait for next visit.
The Orpheum Theatre in Memphis is a beautiful venue. In the heart of downtown right off of Beale Street. There is parking directly across the street for $25. There is also plenty of restaurants close by. The venue itself is clean and is staffed by very professional ushers, ticket takers, security, and box office staff. I appreciated the many different options for beverages, especially the coffee!
I had a wonderful birthday experience with Jeffery Osborne and Gladys Knight. The place was beautiful. Employees were great. The bathrooms were close and really nice. Really loved the close parking but was over priced and really tight if you have a SUV! Not much space to open door to get out the car. Seems as though they thought more money for the spaces then appropriate safe parking
B2 next to the stage is one of the best seats in the house with lots of leg room . Tom Segura killed it.
Saw the musical Hamilton in the Orphium. It was wonderful.
FIERCE LOVE, BETRAYAL AND DANCE. One of the most prolific and popular ballets of all time, Giselle tells the story of a peasant girl who descends into madness and ultimately dies of a broken heart after learning that her beloved is betrothed to someone else. With elements of the supernatural and incredibly technical and emotional dancing, this important piece of art is a visual treat for Memphis. "A must-see ballet"—Cennarium America
Instead of a show, I attended the Commercial Appeal Sports Awards here. We'll run and the Orpheum was the best place to have an event catered toward high school athletes. The Orpheum definitely came suited with a sense of style and superiority that all the attendees brought with them.
We had a wonderful time seeing Fiddler on the Roof the only problem I had there was the misunderstanding of the handicapped section. It should be available that when you purchase a handicap persons ticket that the spouse or caretaker be able to sit right beside them. my husband purchased tickets for us and the lady seated us side by side but then another person came in with two other people ...but this ticket lady (not the same person) asked my husband to sit against the wall making it difficult to see the musical. I think the section should only be limited two two people at a time. The handicapped person plus one only. We shared the same"blocked" space so that he could see the show!! Everyone else was so very pleasant and this was the first time we had a problem.
The overall experience was great. The sound was good but could have been better it was loud but not equalized so you could understand all the words. It was easy to see everything on stage. The mlgw parking garage took 45 minutes to get out of. It has been faster in the past. We went to matinee.
Fantastic performance in a gorgeous theater. Seating is not friendly for tall and/or larger individuals.
I attended my 1st Earth/Wind/Fire Concert! It was fantastic! The Orpheum is so elegant and impressive! I've attended many events over the years and each is better than the last
Nice but seats can be uncomfortable if you're a bigger guy
Beautiful venue. The theatre is small enough that there are no bad seats. If you don't like to be too close, the front row of the first balcony is excellent.
Gorgeous theater. I've attended many shows here and they've always sounded superb, from delicate piano concerts to Nine Inch Nails.
I loved the place! It felt old and historic. And it has been rebuilt but lots of entertainment of all types has happened at those coordinates!
Beautiful facility. Outstanding refurb. Excellent acoustics, professional performances. Some legroom issues in balcony in select areas for taller folks. Parking can be a problem. Not the best or safest part of Memphis after dark. Better lighting outside in certain areas might improve safety somewhat.
Every time I go to the Orpheum I remember why I love it so! Beautiful surroundings, helpful friendly staff, and wonderful acoustics. Now if we could just do something about the bathroom lines! LOL
Always a great adventure. Hamilton was wonderfull.
Always a site to see. A must drive by or visit and see a show. Love seeing the marquee sign and lights that glimmer like Hollywood or New York. A main feature of Memphis' Style. Inside is amazing!!! Broadway quality!
Great historical building. We used the valet parking which made getting in and out of the show a breeze. Very helpful staff, great sound and lights. Overall, a top notch experience.
Went and saw Hamilton! The theater is beautiful and the sound system is amazing!
MY SON'S GRADUATION WAS HELD HERE. IT WAS REALLY NICE
Great concert venue. Beautiful historic building.
Very enjoyable. High quality productions. Beatiful, well-maintained space.
Been a long time, and they have cleaned it up nicely. Great acoustics from the second row, but buddies in the back said it was good as well.
I was there with my sisters to see Earth Wind and Fire. I felt safe in my surroundings. I truly enjoyed myself.
The orpheum always has great events and some great old school movies from back when they actually mage good movies.
Beautiful building. Was able to see Hamilton here and the seats were great.
Great theater, not a bad seat in the house.
My favorite venue in Memphis! The staff is always helpful and the shows are phenomenal.
The Orpheum is so special and such a beautiful place. I have been to many Broadway theaters and theaters in DC and other places. I think the Orpheum is as beautiful as any of the New York theaters. We are so lucky to have such an outstanding theater here in Memphis.
Beautiful theatre. Seats are not real comfortable for today sized people. I've sat on all levels and they all have a decent view. It would be nice if you could rent binoculars. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked. Definitely would recommend you coming to see a show while in town.
I enjoyed the play but the MLGW parking complex might want to beef up security. A so called "lady" in front of us got out of her car & started hitting the car in front of her because he would not go.
It's pretty, it has good shows, staff is nice.
The grandeur and majesty of this historical theater simply cannot be understated. The classic decor is tastefully opulent. The mouldings, the chandeliers, and gold leaf make going to the Orpheum an experience every time. The service is just as decadent as the building itself, with helpful and friendly staff generously seeded throughout to help make your experience as enjoyable as possible.
The building is stunning and the performance was fanominal! The staff and volunteers were very helpful and friendly! I wish I could give this a rating of 10 stars!
What a great place in Memphis to watch a show or a concert!
This is certainly a place that Phoenix can be proud of. There are a variety of shows and performances here through the year. The theater itself is wonderfully done in the Sun and Moon style. Be sure to go upstairs to the echo room, stand in the center and listen to what happens. The bathrooms are worth the trip even if you dont need to use the facilities just to see how a "lounge" should be set up. We have attended multiple events here through the years and the theater is always the star of the show.
I have been here a few times and each time is a new experience. I LOVE the Orpheum. It is an amazing piece of history that I hope is always preserved. I like to sit in the Mezzanine.
Love this place but they need to replace their seats. They are very uncomfortable. I usually have a backache for a couple of days after seeing a show.
Weird All was very good and funny. Always enjoy the Orpheum building too.
Saw HAMILTON again tonight! So wonderful to be "In the Room Where It Happened" again. I was a bit skeptical having loved this musical for so very long and finally getting to see it, but not with the original cast (oh how I would die to get to see Lin in anything!!!)...but these guys were actually pretty incredible!
Beautiful building, great productions, and history ❤️
Great time! Good staff
Great old theater! I try and go anytime Kinky Boots is playing!
They need new seats. Hard to sit through a two hour event without leaving with a sore behind.
Wonderful show. For King and Country were amazing. So glad I went.
Probably helped that we saw Hamilton....but the workers and establishment were both amazing.
Became a season ticket holder again this year! So happy I did! I love the Orpheum!
Great old classic theatre that was restored at great expense years ago. Wonderful summer movie series, great acoustics for music acts and the place to go for touring Broadway plays and musicals.
The Orpheum never disappoints. Fabulous, marvelous productions strip away the outside world and plunge you into an ocean of talent and disbelief. There hasn't been a bad show, and I don't think there will be one. Absolutely wonderful.
Lovely old architecture. The seating was great. Perfect experience for an antique stage. The only issue is one that cannot be solved. It's downtown Memphis and not located in the best area. This was evident when I was waved with a metal detector device and my purse was searched before being allowed to enter. I applaud the staff for trying to ensure that our experience was safe. I also strongly suggest using the valet parking so you don't have to walk to your car at a neighboring pay to park place in that area. It's not safe.
Orpheum Theatre have broadway shows, singers, dancers, groups, performers and legends there. Also shows for adults and children depending on whom is performing for appearances. You have to order tickets to shows ahead. Google there schedule or call in advance to see who will arrive. I love it. For family, single or date night visit.
It is a great and relaxed place to go and see concerts or like tonight a stand up comedian
Our first time to the Orpheus Theater Memphis was for a Brit Floyd concert. I was impressed with the venue. The building was almost a sell out and very crowded but the AC still kept the building comfortable. The ascetics of the building are something to be seen. It was beautiful inside. The acoustics were excellent for a concert. We sat in then middle of the orchestra section (right center) and had great eye lines with the stage. I would like to sell anything else that they put on. The only drawbacks were the parking lot directly across the street jacks the price up during events which is not run by the Orpheum. There seemed to be a lot more women's restrooms than men's.
Great acoustics. Very nice interior designs
Beautifully renovated theater with wonderful acoustics. Seating is somewhat cramped and could be marked more clearly. Drinks available before performance and during intermissions. Valet parking also available.
Ambiance good, more bathroom space needed
Awesome time at the Orpheum with my daughter's Facing History program. Mr. Anthony Ray Hinton spoke on his book, The Sun Does SHINE (How I found life and Freedom on death row). An awesome testimony.
Hamilton was a great show in a beautiful facility. Cheap seats have a fine view of the performance but it can get a little warm and the seats are tight. Next time, I will buy a better seat.
Beautiful preserved 1920s theatre that has adapted to 21st Century culture while maintaining its origins. Saw a family charity screening of the film "Elf" here, which was well attended. May it survive in perpetuity.
We saw Weird Al and he is the master of stage presence and audience experiences.
It has a short walk of fame with names of singers on stars. Pretty cool to see.
Haven't had a bad view from any of my seats so far! Balcony seats are not comfortable, but shows are always great.
Not a bad seat in the house. Excellent acoustics you have to experience the Orpheum.
John Mellencamp. March 17. Best concert I've ever been to. Felt more like I was watching a show not just a concert.
This is a beautiful older theatre, nice and cool. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The only downside is the leg room and space between seats, but that is expected for an older theatre. Overall great experience.
My daughter Graduation was held there and it was awesome!
Was there last night for the Celtic women show it was great as always. I love this theater, It is simply beautiful to look at on the inside with the chandelieres and the gilded walls. Get has a very nostalgic feel to it, My only complaint is that the seats seem to be crammed together it would be nice to have a little bit more Room to spread out. But the venue itself is great.
Loved everything, but I'm a tall guy and there was hardly any room for my legs.
We went to see Hamilton. The play was awesome. The theater was a little warm. We were able to see the entire play without any problems.
Good attentive employees and volunteer. Good view even from balcony
Beautiful old building. Great sound for concerts.
Enjoyed the theatre experience . Parking g nearby is exorbitant.
Earth Wind & Fire concert. The Orpheum needs some work. The seating is awful, very uncomfortable. I really don't know how any plus size person could sit there for an entire show.
This venue is a classic. Glad to finely see a show and Beale street is near by
Beautiful theatre. It seems like there are no bad seats.
The most beautiful theatre in Memphis and the Midsouth! A true joy to visit, be entertained in elegance and see the best Broadway tours, music acts and movies!
Excellent sound no matter where you sit
We wanted to visit this theater and was hoping there was some event that we could attend there. And we lucked out, the very first Harry Potter movie, (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone) was playing but they were accompanied by the Memphis Symphony, playing the soundtrack live! This is the second time we have seen this type of combination! And it is amazing! We recently sat in the balcony and the seats were great! The floor seats seemed to have less leg room
The Orpheum may be good, but Hamilton was horrible. Don't waste your money...
Unparalleled! The theater itself is beautiful and the workers are friendly and helpful. Hamilton was sooooo fantastic!
Watched the Hamilton play at the Orpheum Theatre last night. The play was outstanding the facility was grand. Would haven given five stars had the seating had more leg room.
Always love seeing shows at this historic theatre! Have seen everything from movies to opera. We saw Eddie Izzard there last night. Another great show!
Just watched Hamilton here. Beautiful theatre. Awesome play.
Beautiful and historic venue. I'm sure there is not a bad seat in the house. We sat at GTL stage left, and it was a fantastic audio and visual experience. First time there, but hopefully won't be the last.
The show selection is great, truly, there is something for everyone. I am giving a lower rating for the lack of legroom. There is less legroom than what you would find on an airplane. I get it, the Orpheum is authentic, it's an old theater but management needs to understand that people have grown taller and for that reason, the health and safety of your patrons should be of concern. The seating is dangerous and for that reason, I will not return until they do what is right and provide a safe amount of space between rows.
Oh my God I loved it to the highest degree
I went to see the Broadway Musical Hamilton and I loved it!! It's a must see. I do wish the seats had more space.
This is a beautiful space. The staff is very nice. Bathrooms are inadequate for a venue this size and the seating reflects the age of the facility. Big ole' boys, like me, are uncomfortable in the seats. I won't be back due to cramped seating but small folk should be fine.
It’s haunted (but lovely). ❤️
The won't play gone with the wind again because it has racist words in it.
Beautifully restored historic theater in the heart of downtown Memphis. I've seen several concerts here and it's a great venue for live performances.
The Orpheum was, is and will forever be a Memphis treasure. The variety of shows offered appeals to a very broad array of people. From niche performances, to classic favorites they will offer something you don't want to miss. Shout out to the summer movie series. I went as a kid and now I take my kids. Legen.....wait for it ...dary. I dare you to find a mightier Mighty Wurlitzer. The theater oozes awesome architecture and vintage flair. Best theater venue in the city hands down with unbeatable season performances. Pro-tip: grab aisle seats if you have long legs or want more room. As with any similarly styled theaters, you can feel a bit like a sardine.
Memphis is very lucky to have such a wonderful theater. Always an awesome experience to visit.
It always has great shows. Just avoid the highest levels.
Great venue for plays and musicals. Clean restrooms. The whole place is really nice. Seating is good although my knees touched the seat in front. Cheap parking available on Peabody pl just a very short walk from front door of Orpheum.
Clean restrooms, nice staff. We also visited the Halloran center next door and it was very new and. Nice as well.
Beautiful theater, but the seats are very close together. One of the few times I was grateful I am short, because the tall people's knees hit the seat in front of them. Maybe get an aisle seat if you need extra space.
Saw Hamilton here as well as Phantom of the Opera and both times were amazing! Still has that historic, antique charm.
Saw Hamilton with my sister (her birthday gift).... Amazing!!!!
This is a wonderful theater. Every play I've seen has been fantastic. The staff/volunteers are always so nice and helpful.
The Orpheum is a fairly small theater. That being said the host and hostess do a wonderful job getting everyone in and to their seats before the show, and a marvelous job escorting the crowds out after the show is over.
I brought my daughter to the Orpheum Theatre to see Wicked over spring break and we had the best time. It was an amazing experience. We can't wait to go back again.
Even the nosebleeds are a great spot and the building is amazing!
Beautiful space. No bad viewing angles. Every show I have seen here (balcony or floor), I have felt like my seat was good.
Saw Earth Wind and Fire the show was great, drinks good and reasonable, clean. loved it
The concert was great, and the acoustics are superb. There's not a bad seat in the house, unless you're sandwiched between rows of drunk chicks, both in front and behind you. The rococo design is well done and enhances the experience.
The orpheum theatre is a beautiful building and place to watch amazingly talented people. The staff are super professional and helpful. For example, they will look at your ticket and not just direct you in the general location of your seat, but walk with you right to it! It's always a memorable experience at the Orpheum.
Always a great time at the Orpheum, it has the best shows and events and it's a lovely theatre. There's more leg room in the center orchestra and all of the seats are good. Left or right orchestra are good until about 6 seats in. If you're closer to the wall it's not the best angle to watch a show. If you're on the upper level good luck getting to the bathroom by the time intermission is over, although it has gotten much better since the renovations.
A nice but older venue. The seats are uncomfortable because they don't provide adequate leg room space. It was like sitting on a school bus for elementary students. Not conducive at all for most adults. And the upper balconies lack handrails for patrons to hold onto when climbing the steps to get to their seats.
Peace and Love Tour - music from Woodstock - brought back a lot of memories from the 60s. The Orpheum is a great location to enjoy performances not requiring a huge venue. Beautiful decor- classic theater.
We had an enjoyable evening as we watched Hamilton. The show did not disappoint and enjoyed our time at the Orpheum. Unfortunately with such a large crowd, the venue has poor means of egress and ingress. Perhaps a modernization remodel is in the future.
Great experience! Super friendly staff.. ushers very friendly and helpful! Clean facilities including bathrooms. Parking was simple but a tad over priced right next to building ($25). $5 parking two blocks to the west though.
I was invited sound crew to the #britfloyd show here and the acoustics were awesome.
First class venue for concert/performing arts. Beautiful original decor, excellent accoustics.
The show superb, theatre excellent, n wonderful, comfortable seats
Beautiful venue! Historic and classy.
In a word, opulent. My son and I saw NIN there last fall and then my wife and I took my daughter to see Hamilton Saturday. Very nice theater. My one complaint is that they charge $7 for a single beer.
The show was good.and the place was very nice and clean.
If only I had money I would go to every show I also love going to the summer movies
Perfect venue for quality productions! A little tight, but not unbearable.
This Theater is beautiful. I have read complaints about legroom but found it to be ok and what you would expect from an older theater, sure you could RIP the old seating out and put in new stuff but that would just take from the fact that this place is a very old place that is still beautifully maintained and functional just the way it is. If you go here for a modern show it works and instead of complaining take in an enjoy what it may have felt like being there way back when....
We went and saw Fiddler on the Roof. This is an incredible theater that I cannot wait to go back to!
Always a pleasure to visit the Orpheum. I love watching movies on the big screen. Walk the line was the movie tonight. It was fun to be in the audience at the Orpheum & watch the movie scenes filmed in the Orpheum!
Like most theaters of its kind it's historic, this beautiful. But the seating; not necessarily the best for anyone taller that 5'8".
Beautiful building. Highly recommend you visit at least once to experience a show.
The productions are always amazing, the Orpheum itself is magnificent, and the staff is always super helpful! Haley from the Orpheum Theatre Box Office was very gracious, and when she was unable (through no fault of her own) to resolve my issue immediately, she contacted me with a resolution as soon as possible.
Beautiful, grand old opera house, acoustics were fabulous, the venue was amazing. Parking was convenient. We attended a concert, and had a wonderful time. The staff was welcoming, and very accommodating. I would return anytime for an event there.
Had a chance to see HAMILTON here. I sat in the Mezz which the view was pretty darn good. I was able to see everything well.
The Orpheum is a beautiful place! I love the golden restrooms! The snacks are high but the plays and shows that perform their make up for it!!!!
Easy to get to on the street car. Close to lots of stuff to do. Amazing shows. Decent seats. Show was amazing
Always love coming here with my wife.
Great place to go see a show. Not a bad seat in the house and the sound is really good and not distorted. Would really recommend this to anybody looking to see a show.
Seats are very close together for comfort. However wasn't a deterrent for an overall great show. Love the Orpheum
Weird Al @ the Orpheum! Theater was beautiful, and the staff very friendly an helpful. Show was AMAZING!
Very disappointed! I received an email to purchase tickets for the Hamilton pre-cocktail party before the Hamilton performance at 2p. My co-worker attended the party prior to the show on Thursday. He enjoyed it as I knew he would. I tried purchasing tickets for the 12:30 cocktail party prior to our show at 2 pm. I received an error message. I tried again. This time I clicked the drop down box all available times populate I chose the cocktail party for 6:30 the day of the show, which is after the show. I wanted the tickets but decided I better call and make sure it was okay for me to purchase tickets for the 6:30 party, so I called the Orpheum a lady answered. I said the 12:30 cocktail party must be sold out because I can't purchase tickets. She said, it was canceled. I told her I was interested in purchasing tickets for the 6:30 party, but thought I had better ask first. She said it's fine, no problem at all for you to purchase them. Well the next day (Friday morning) I bought 2 tickets for the 6:30 party. Once I paid for them I received the receipt but no information on how or where to pick up the tickets. When I called the Orpheum this time a man answered. I told him I purchased tickets for the 6:30 cocktail party and our show was at 2pm. He said you can't attend the cocktail party after the show only before. I thought he was wrong, he transferred me to a lady name Jennifer. I left her a message and she called me back. She confirmed what he said. They are refunding me the money, but it doesn't help it's not about the money! I am mad at the Orpheum. It is my daughter's birthday, this was to be a celebration. I had already told her about the cocktail party, she was so excited! This is bad business. Your employees should have the correct information when they answer the phone. I think from now on I will find other venues to visit because this is just wrong. Had I known I would never gotten her hopes up, yes the show will be good, but the party would've been the icing on the cake. I am very angry at the Orpheum and will not forgive them for this mess up! Shame on you!!!!
It was very relaxing and intertaining.
Beautiful classic theater that really goes the extra mile for their season ticket holders.
Seats where a bit small, I'm 5'8" and my knees where pressed into the seat in front of me, and the sound was a bit off. This is a very old venue and it was beautiful, my husband and I had a great time.
The venue is awesome. Have enjoyed every concert and show we've been to there. Only complaint small restrooms that you would expect from a building this old.
Gladys Knight & Jeffrey Osborne were great!!!
The Orpheum Theatre is a Memphis gem! The theatre was originally built in 1890 as an Opera House but burned down in 1923. Five years later it was rebuilt bigger and better as The Orpheum. In 1940 it was turned into a movie theater and operated as so until 1976! (what a waste for such a beautiful building!) After that time it sat empty until 1982 it was purchased and restored to it's original 1928 beauty. It is lavishly decorated with giant crystal chandeliers, gold moldings, tasseled draperies and of course an old theatre wouldn't be complete without a Wurlitzer pipe organ.Over the last 20+ years some of the most famous Broadways shows have graced the staged at the Orpheum, such as, Cats, Phantom of the Opera, and Les Miserables. This season is one of the best ever with The Color Purple, Legally Blonde, Avenue Q (which was so great!) and Wicked! Along with Broadway, the Ballet Memphis group also performs here and should not be missed!
They get 5 stars if they add more bathrooms. Seating either needs to have more elevation or seats need to be offset by row. Sound lacked clarity.
Beautiful venue, seats kind of a tight fit though
Awesome shows. Great variety.
A great historic venue. They have a good ticket pricing range for those on a budget or those who want to sit on the front row. Food and drink are available as well. Staff is very accommodating.
Beautifully decorated theater features Memphis's best in Broadway shows, touring productions, concerts and other entertainment. They serve beer, wine and non alcoholic beverages. Convenient parking lots directly across the street and next door. Close to the Beale street entertainment district for food, shops, live bands, bars, and more. Always a treat to see a show at the orpheum theater in Memphis.
