RPX theater has, assigned seating, and comfy seats. It's the same as IMAX but at a lower cost. It's higher than standard prices, but cheaper than IMAX. The only downside are the seats don't recline :( The food menu is amazing (for a movie theater). They offer hot food like burgers, poppers, nuggets, along with traditional movie foods. My favorite theater in town

Policy for R rated movies is terrible, people cant take a kid under the age of 6 with them even with adult supervision. There gonna lost a lot of money due to most movies being R rated.

My husband and I love going to the movies, and went all the time last year. Since regal was bought out though, we have noticed 2 things: 1) the sound is turned up WAY too loud. It makes it difficult to enjoy movies when we it is so loud your ears are litterally ringing the entire time. And 2) We live in ALASKA, who turns down the heat low enough that you can see your breath IN the freaking movie theater?! Now, we get it, sometimes there is just a newbie at the wheel of a company turn over; so we have given this theater multiple chances and it has been the same regardless of which theater you are in. I like this theater. It's clean and offers typical theater amenities. I cannot give 5 stars because I save that rating for the Dimond regal where you get to sit in an amazing recliner, kick back and forget you have to watch 45 minutes of commercials before the movie starts because you are so comfy. Tikatnu is closer to my home so I'll be going back but I'll be wishing Dimond was closer.

First time here. The only bad review I would give is that the service on a Saturday was slow at the concession stand. There were three lines. We waited for at least 30 min we did arrive 15 min before the movie time started so 1030. I was in line at 1015am I got my 1 soda 1 popcorn 30 minutes later 1045 . I feel as they should have two at each line or have more lines available or the gentleman work quicker I felt like he took his time. There were others sighing and huffing and puffing behind me, one gentleman said come on man... I feel as I need to speak up for the others as I was disappointed too. I will be coming back but sooner than my time but I shouldn't feel as coming 30 min prior to my movie and I had already bought my ticket on my app to avoid waiting.

Great Screening and Sound Quality, but slow on the concession stands. Usually only 1 or 2 workers, arrive early if you want popcorn or other good items, it could take awhile to get anything.

This is just a review on the concession stand. There was 3 lines and I had to pick the one where the young man took 20 minutes to help a total of 2 people. Both people he was going back and forth behind the counter. It was obvious that he needed help. His Supervisor saw this and did nothing to help him. Got out of line because my medical issue didn't allow me to stay in line anymore. I will remember this person so the next time I come here I will not get into his line.

Update: 10/29/19 Why force customers to choose a seat in a general admission venue? We were the only two people in the theater for a final showing. Makes no sense whatsoever. I would love to rate this theater 5 stars, as it is aesthetically pleasing (very photogenic!) and clean; the movie selections/times and discount offers for Regal Crown Club members on Tuesdays are nice. I refuse to partake of concessions at any theater, mainly due to the outrageous prices, and I usually have a meal before going anyway. The 2 stars that are missing are due to the poor customer service at the first stop to purchase tickets. I realize these are just kids "working" the counter. However, as a regular theater goer, I have witnessed lackluster results on numerous occasions. One particular girl made us wait until she finished her rather lengthy conversation on the phone. Whatever happened to "I'll be right with you"...?? Another girl gave us a "I don't know" when we asked her a specific regarding reward points. Whatever happened to "I can sure find out for you"...?? And yet another girl (just last night) was borderline snarky, and gave me one of those totally fake "just go away" smiles. Are the employees unhappy here? We are just wondering. I worked in retail/customer service for almost 40 years (38 and 1/2 to be exact), starting at age 19. We were taught the importance of the customer, and made aware of the fact that the customer is the one who brings in the paychecks. The customer is the one who keeps the place running. What gives with the kids here? My job was 10 times more stressful than theirs; especially while holding down a customer service booth, working it solo, performing 3 to 5 tasks at once, in an extremely busy store. There really is no excuse for such blatant behavior. One could argue perhaps, that is the way kids are today? Are there any training sessions on the horizon?

Concessions took a while to get. I actually don't think anybody scanned our Fandango tickets, but it was Avengers night so it was a little crazy. My eyeballs are still on fire from sitting in the first row watching a 3hr movie.

This is the best theater experience in Alaska. The IMAX screen is like a ride and the picture is crisp and amazing (they don't turn down their bulbs) so your 3D movies are exactly as they are intended. A little pricey but seeing is believing!

I genuinely like this movie theater but I just can’t get past the waiting for food. I’ve been in Alaska for almost three years and no matter when I come here unless I’m the only person in line, the staff takes FOREVER to ring customers up. At first I thought I needed to come early. But then I did come 30 to 40 minutes early and it still took FOREVER. Even on a non busy night they take FOREVER. So imagine a theater full of people coming to see a big opener. So I thought maybe they’re trying to be super helpful with their customers. But every time I come it’s the same guys working and they move with no purpose. They joke with each other or chit chat. This is generally most of the time. But this seems to be the norm in customer service these days, talk to your coworkers about whatever in front of your customers. What initiated this review was today while waiting in line for popcorn a consession worker looked at the line, proceded to put lid tops away and then told two customer behind me waiting for popcorn and drink refills to come ahead before anyone else and refill their items. I think this is the last time I’ll come here. Every time I do I get disappointed with the wait for food. The kids that work here are very nice. The wait for food wasn’t so bad today but when other customers got excused to the front made me irritated. I get they’re already watching a movie but maybe have them stand near the waiting food line. Not to mentioned we almost watched the movie in the light. I think someone complained about when the movie was going to start after seeing plenty of previews. So the manager must of skipped previews and then realized the lights was still on. It must be a regal thing to play 30 to 45 minutes of previews as well because man do they go on forever.

We've lived here for about a year now and always come to this theater. The staff is always friendly, the "move theater food" is always good. It is what it is, it's not a gourmet meal it's theater food. 9 times out of 10 the theaters have been cleaned were not worried about putting our stuff in the seats. Wait times for snacks are reasonable.

The best option for anyone on base. Clean, comfortable and new while offering multiple levels of cinema experience (Imax, 3D, standard, etc). The Regal Crown club is highly recommended if you even plan on going a few times a year with benefits at no extra cost.

The lines are ALWAYS extremely long, at the concessions, so you have to be sure to get there at least 20mins before your movie start time. Otherwise, you will get last pick on seats. Then if you get refills, most of the time, you have to wait in line again. Every once in a while someone notices you have the popcorn tub/drink in your hands and they allow you to pass the line, but NEVER when they are the busiest. They should have a separate line for this!! I think they might do it on purpose so you dont come back for seconds. Otherwise, you'll miss 10 or more mins of your movie. The only reason i keep coming back to this theater is because its the closest one to us (coming from eagle river). Other than this, the theater is ok. I like how they have the self-service kiosks so you can purchase your own tickets. I also like how you can download the Regal app, on your phone, so you always have your rewards card on you. If there were better options, I wouldnt recommend others to come here just because of the slow service, which they dont seem to care about.

Easily the greatest quality movie experience in Anchorage. Aesthetics, sound quality, comfortable seating, and everything else is top quality. The only time I would prefer a different theater in Anchorage over Tikahtnu is “$5 Tuesday” at Century. If you don’t know about “$5 Tuesday”, here’s a little PSA: Tickets are $5.50 each for any movie (except pre-release showings) every Tuesday at Century. And if your cellular carrier is AT&T, you get a “Movie Twosday” deal every Tuesday (it’s a buy one get one deal)! So Century + AT&T + Tuesday = $5.50 for 2 tickets ($2.25 each)!!!!! You’re welcome. That being said, Tikahtnu’s regular prices are cheaper than Dimond’s, and overall a better theater than Century. So if it’s not Tuesday and/or you don’t care about saving money on a Tuesday, this theater is your best bet! By the way, for you AT&T people out there, Movie Twosday works at any theater. So definitely use it at Tikahtnu!

Great show times, lots of options and employees do their jobs quickly and well. The photo strip booth never works. It either is not on, or it steals money. Also the exit areas do not make sense. You come out the same area where you give tickets to see the movie. It is just annoying.

Regal lost my business. Will not tolerate policies where as you think you know whats best for me and my children. They have created a policy that no children under 6 can attend a rated R movie. I will not argue that they should not see a rated R movie. But really, age 6? Age 6 is okay, but under 6 not okay? They say it is for benefit of other adults, but not seeing much adults on a Sunday night, or anyone at all hardly. Furthermore, Regal, do you not think parents will allow their children to watch rated R movies at home? You are not stoping nothing, but some parents from going to the movies. Ones like myself that had a 2 year old with no nap today. She was off to sleep as soon as we hit that theater. Do not pretend to know what is best for parents and do not lie via using “its to benefit other adults,” BS... Cinemark has a better policy. If I could post a review just for Regal, I would. Will post on every other review page I can find. Dang people who think they know whats best for others!

We went to watch Infinity Wars but unfortunately never got to see it. We arrived about 10 mins early, wasn't a long line. We order our popcorn, drinks and pretzel from concessions, I had my husband go grab seats and I stood there waiting for 20 mins waiting in the line for the pretzel we had ordered just to find out it was sold out a while ago. I am a generally very patient person and won't speak my mind, but after missing a good portion of the movie my husband came out looking for me. Movie started at 7:15 and it wasn't till 7:40 that they finally told me it was sold out. We don't generally complain about something but decided to talk to guest services and they were able to refund us our money back. We did end up watching a different movie that started at about 8. We were a little irritated but we're determined to watch a movie while we had a babysitter. The seats were very comfortable and the sound was great not overly loud as it can be sometimes. The concessions was very expensive and the service was lousy.

It's clean and staff is always nice when i rarely go. I like the self check out for tickets even though the computer and menu is unintuitive it's faster then the ticket counter which is rarely staffed. Leather seats are nice with an attempt at ergonomics but often the AC makes it really cold so bring a jacket. Same as any theater it's over priced and i don't enjoy the 3D because it hurts my eyes and the IMAX is so loud it hurts my ears and I can't hear well for 24 hours so I only go to standard showings.

Went late afternoon on a sunday and theater was pretty quiet. However there was a line at concessions. Seems something was slowing down several orders, but once it was cleared, things moved along well. The layout for concessions should be updated. A single line would keep the flow and keep it moving fifo. Last couple visits when one line is slow, people move and get ahead of others which can be frustrating. Clean bathroom, clean theater. Movie was 3d and was good. Experience was good. staff has always been very helpful. Including fixing a billing issue and a ticketing issue at the customer service desk. Good selection of movies and viewing options, and additional options at concessions makes this a great theater.

Best theater in the state. Adequately staffed at concessions. Always the latest flick available. Most of the theaters are easy access with comfortable (some reclining) seats. Movies with lower rankings can be in a smaller theater with only one stairwell access to seats.... meaning a lot of people have to stand up and spill popcorn to allow others in.

They have awesome new theatres and the most amazingly comfortable chairs.. the food was actually warm and freshly made..their kitchen is awesome there is nothing worse then food from heat lamps. The photo boothe is awesome as well my kids love the mini arcade and the facilities..they are completely handicap friendly and wheel chair accessible as well as being helpful.

I've been twice this week to see Mary Poppins Returns (judge me, but it was awesome!) The first time, it took us nearly an hour to get popcorn. Its not like it was even that busy... It was just that the 4 people working concession were slow and when you finally got up there, they were rude! The second time, it was okay. Only about a 20 minute wait for snacks and the girl at the register was polite... But the theater was dirty. Cup lids, popcorn and napkins all over the floor. Not awful experience, but if the movie hadnt been fabulous, I'd probably be leaving a one star review because I'd have felt like it was a waste of time and money... :P

This is the best movie theater in Anchorage. New facility new technology. They will scan your e-ticket or you can buy tickets at the door. Comfortable seating with wide aisle for running out in the middle of a movie. They have IMAX and 3D if you like wearing glasses to watch a flick.

I bought four tickets for almost $50. I got sick in the beginning of the movie and went to the bathroom for a long while in hopes to get better. Soon after my family stayed in the hallway waiting for me. I decided it would not be right to any other customers for me to stay if I were sick and contagious. I went to the front counter to see about getting tickets for another day. I was told they don’t do that and there is nothing they can do. Rip off and complete disappointment. Never coming here again. They do not put customers first.

Movie theater isn’t exceptionally clean, cleaning staff seemed kind of lazy and were cleaning up only 15 minutes before the movie started. The pre-preview commercials were blacked out, so we got audio without the accompanying video to watch while we waited. Clean up better and before customers arrive, display the video that goes along with the audio before the film starts, and you get a 5

Theater is always clean and customer service is good. The movie we went to had issues on the scree, they eventually sorted it out and still offered reentry tickets to all who were at the movie.

They have great theaters to watch movies, but I probably won't go here again unless I see evidence of security driving around especially at night. Last month I went to a movie with my son and we came out to find out the night would cost us nearly $500 (including the movie ticket prices) because of a break-in to my passenger side window that we had to get repaired. Like I said I would probably go to this theater again once I see and hear evidence of security patrolling the main parking lots and I will adjust my comments and rating accordingly.

But through the previews before the movie started and during the credits right at the end there was a light above the screen that made looking at the screen unpleasant. I wanted to ask an attendant or someone to turn it off so I could enjoy what I paid to see.

THIS PLACE NEEDS CLEANING! I walked in (haven’t been there for 2 years now) and the place was just nasty! The people there didn’t have time to restock cups or clean the food area. I sat down and NOTICED MY SEAT WAS STICKY! very nasty and greasy.

This is Alaska’s premier IMAX theater. Has movies in 3D, high quality audio and excellent seating. We live over fifty miles away in Wasilla and when we want to see a movie in the scope of IMAX quality and sound we bring the family to Regal Cinemas @ Tikahtnu.

Lots of theaters with lots of choices, and the seats are super comfortable, and if you have wheelchair, they have good wheelchair accessibility, lots of parking, the area has some good restaurants.

Ok first when you walk in it doesn't seem inviting the ticket peeps don't seem outgoing then the snack line is under staffed and alwa ays super slow then after you watch your movie in a sticky chair and floor they slowly turn on the lights hoping you will try and be first out the one thing that they made right was how fast the chair eats up all your loose chang and cell phones

Great place to see a movie. The seats are comfortable for the standard tickets and theaters are clean. Buy your tickets from Costco for a discount.

The lines moved quickly, the people were polite and friendly, most things were clean. The trash was relatively empty, making it easy to dispose of our trash. The floors were rather sticky. I don't imagine they are easy to keep clean, but it is rather off putting to stick to the floor.
