Old seats and the bathroom is nasty.

Kylie’s Corner

Great staff and while a small venue, it's comfortable.

Friendly staff and the theater was quiet. The sour punch straws were kind of stale though.

Enoch Fifita

Need new seats, seats are old and disgusting.

Benjamen Wilcox

Great old school theatre.... W modern sound and projection.

Brian Avis

Small two screen theater in downtown Juneau. It's pretty outdated as theaters go compared to theaters in the lower 48 and it was not designed to house two screens. The two screens are basically one on top of the other. The upstairs theater is pretty uncomfortable with zero leg room and no where to place your drinks which is a hassle and during quiet times in your movie you will be able to hear some of the bass on other sound from the other movie.

Monica Weston

Fredrick Nauska

Needs new chairs. Anyone over 40 leaves with a sore ass or back.

Strange Attractor

Expensive but nice place.

Historic old theater has a great deal of charm. Projection and sound to modern standards, seats a bit rickety and old.

Dave Williams

They have good recent movies , however you should arrive a few minutes early if you ever want to get out of the concession line in time for your movie to start. Also the chairs really need to be updated.

The upstairs theater has stadium style seating, but there are no cup holders.

Amazing movie quality and spacious seating, love the old time feel too!

Service is okay, but all our theaters need more comfortable seats

This theatre needs a complete renovation. The movie my husband, brother inlaw and I watched was in the upper theatre which like another poster mentioned has very small, cramped seating with no where to place your drink. You will be bumping elbows with anyone sitting directly next to you and your knees will be jammed up against the seats in front of you. Paid about $10 for a small popcorn and large drink, and didn't consume either. The popcorn was burnt and stale and the soda was watered down, flat and tasted moldy. YUM! The stairs leading to the upper theater are not of regular spacing and it was dimly lit making it difficult to see where to place your feet. Once in the theater you arrive at the bottom of the screen and must climb a semi steep staircase to get to your desired seat. There is no hand railing and going up and down can be a bit of a challenge when it is dark or if you are disabled in any way. We watched our movie at the end of June and even in an almost empty theater we were all uncomfortably hot. I can't imagine how uncomfortable it would be if the place was full! We went to a 4:10 showing and the three of us thankfully had the place all to ourselves so we could prop our feet up and be somewhat comfortable. The lobby smelled like cigarette smoke and burnt popcorn and the theater smelled of booze and urine. Maybe something to do with Juneaus downtown homeless and alchoholic population that frequent the area all year. Gross Alaska owns this theater which is located Downtown as well as Glacier Cinemas which is located in the valley. Unfortunately Gross Alaska seems to play the best movies at the theater located downtown which is the only reason I will ever set foot in the building again, which is not often. Last time we watched a movie at the downtown location was around 7 years ago because everything about the place stinks...literally. .

Richard Baskas

loved watching movies in historical and possibly haunted buildings

Seats are a bit snug in the upstairs theater but overall it's a cool movie house.

I was born and raised in Juneau and I grew up going to this theater almost every weekend. Having said that, these theaters have literally not changed in the past 20 years. Yes, ok they updated the sound system a couple times. However, the seats suck, the food sucks, the service sucks, the bathrooms are dirty, it's as expensive as a full blown Cineplex for half the experience. Oh and they don't have military discounts.

Small old and uncomfortable seating overpriced everything but hey it's 1 of 2 theaters here so we'll go back

Alavini Lata

eh. its a theater and glad we have one here in JNU but why the popcorn so expensive? Best popcorn in Juneau is Juneau drug. Only .25 and doesn't need additional salt or butter.

Tight seating. Knees hit seat in front of you. Upstairs seats have no cup holders .

Great quality of video and sound worth the extra drive for 3d movies

Judy LaBarge

Jason Morin

Nice little theater.

Bradford Rich

Dear my poor comfortable but tight sitting. Otherwise a great theater

Ackarion

Expensive prices. Crowded theater with no leg room, especially in the upstairs theater. Ridiculously overpriced concessions.

Green Capricorn

I understand the hiring profile here is for youth and soon to be debutants (double thumbs up!) I am wary of the concessions though; drinks and prepared snacks either have a soap or mold after-taste in the nose, I can't tell which. Didn't feel yucky after, that's good.

TheVagrantDog

We have a bit of a monopoly going on in town when it comes to movie theaters, but that doesn't mean I can't have standards. This theater mostly meets them. Any difficulties in movie viewing are rare enough that I'm surprised if they occur. The concessions are overpriced, but what theater's isn't? The ticket prices are on the high end of acceptable. The biggest drawback at this theater is the upstairs section, where the stadium-style seats are so close together that I can't fit my knees in front of my seat... but I'm 6'2", so YMMV.

Great Customer Service, But The Upstairs Theater Is Really Old And Raggedy, Not Even Cup Holders!

Comfort

Eric Christensen

It's okay. If you go to the bottom section it's nice. Great comfy seats. But God help you if you go to the top section. Jesus Christ it sucks. The seats are small as hell, there aren't any cup holders, the seats are very uncomfortable, and at times depending on what's playing, you can hear the other theater. I don't like it but sometimes they only play certain movies here and not at Glacier so you HAVE to go here. I get it that they want to keep it the way it was, but they need to upgrade the upper theater. It's dreadful.
