Excellent theater and experience! We've been weekend folks and now retired on Lake Martin over 2 decades, and we've always loved Playhouse Cinemas. First run movies, often opening weekend, reasonable prices all around, polite staff, and very nice audiences!

Been going here for years. Friendly staff. Needs a lot of updates. Seats, carpet & curtains in each movie room. Bathrooms need totally remodeled. Over all needs a complete renovation. Seats & carpet are sticky. It's beginning to have an odor. I hate to see such a needed local business go down like this. The money is there to renovate. All said with love & hope.

I love this place. It kinda gives of a home-y vibe. Very cheap compared to Amstar-12. And they offer a $2 discount on tickets after 7 if you are a cacc student.

Very nice Cinema with comfortable rocking chairs. 3D movies, fresh popcorn & lots of snacks & a large foundation drink selection. A great break if it is raining on the lake. Clean and easy to locate from the road. Not a large theater, but worth the stop.

Love having a theatre in the small town of AC. We're from Gardendale, but I volunteer at Wind Creek State Park, so we stay at our camper a lot. We'd have to drive all the way to Auburn to the movies if this business wasn't in AC, or only watch movies at home. Thanks for being there!

My husband and I used to have date night once a month there at least. We could go watch the movie and get popcorn and drinks for under $20. Refills for only a dollar! Couldn’t beat it!!! The price is right folks!!! Go to Auburn or Montgomery theaters and see how much it cost! You will appreciate Playhouse Cinemas! I saw where someone complained about the children being unsupervised and they gave a lower rating for it. It is not the theaters responsibility to babysit these children. Blame the parents!! Not the theater!
