It's always nice and cool in the summer and there's plenty of seating for the newest releases. We went to see Toy Story 4 today. Once I put ther two year old in the seat he folded into it. Soon enough though I saw other parents coming in with booster chairs so I got one from outside the door. (It would have been difficult to nap telling top open that boy's chair back up every two minutes) I usually get the large popcorn and coke. Three of those four boys can eat two buckets. It's around 12.00 I think. It's a good place to cool off on a 100 degree day.

Great theatre for just getting out of the house to hit up a movie. Expensive concessions for their captive audience but that's pretty standard. Quality theatre (both visual and audio as well as comfortable seats) is all I care about and this theatre meets my needs.

Nasty parking lot..The management at this facility should be ashamed.My kids go here on some weekends and its terrible out there in the parking lot. Someone should have something done about this immediately!

My wife, our friend, and I planned on going to see Shazam tonight. We checked the time on the internet and it said 9:55PM, which we were willing to stay up late to see. When we got to the movies, the outdoor poster confirmed the 9:55 time, but the doors were locked and the TV schedules on the inside had no 9 O’clock movies scheduled, even though the outdoor posters and internet contradicted it (not only for Shazam, but also for all of the other late night movies). We were not the only ones who showed up hoping to get in, as there were several other people who stood in confusion. We called and even tried to message the theater on Facebook (which the option to do so is not available), but we just received a dead ring. I don’t know why this occurred, but we were all disappointed to not be able to watch the movie. I love going to the movies and like supporting our local theater, but to be able to, we need be able to show up and know we’ll be able to get in. Hopefully this issue can be resolved quickly so we can replace this review with a 5-star, happy one.

This theater is great! Only issue is that they have gone up on ticket prices again. At least the 3rd time since they opened. I wish we could more often, but can't afford to pay $20 just for tickets.

It bothered us that the first thing we were told upon entering the theater was "Make sure your car is locked, we have been having break ins. There were several cops in the parking lot. Unfortunately, we prepaid online so we went to the movie. It ducked being worried about the car the whole time. Lol?

We use to go to the movies on Tuesday night because the tickets were $5. They are now $6.50. Why not just make it the same price as on Friday night? I don't have any complaints about the customer service because the employees have always been very nice and I know the employees have nothing to do with how the prices are set. They are just the messengers.

Malco is a nice local cinema and I feel lucky to have such a quality theater close by. In my travels I've found better, but mostly find worse and appreciate my home cinema. They seem to know what is in demand and always have multiple showings of popular films. They have a convenient ticket purchasing kiosk that is nice to skip the line. Food is expensive as is to be expected. The theater is relatively clean which is no small feat in this industry.

Went to see Sausage Party here just tonight and could not enjoy the movie because about half way through, a rat appeared on the stairs next to us, causing my girlfriend to have her head on a constant swivel. Not sure about movie theater standards in Mississippi, but this would've never happened in any theater I've been to. Will not be returning. ~Sincerely, Disgusted Customer

Building is a little dated. Seats are old, and sometimes the theater smells musty. But usually no long lines for tickets, and if you go during the week, you may get the movie all to yourself. Great sound and picture quality.

My local theater. I do wish we had some of the new comforts such as recliners but overall it is a good theater. There are some blinking light bulbs in a couple of screens that haven't been fixed in a while and I have seen multiple shows where they are blinking beforehand (Front and Center and trailers) but they turn out just before the main show starts so it is bearable.

It's a decent theatre but not excellent. The concessions are expensive but large has free refills. The theater rooms aren't too bad. The last time I went, they never dimmed the lights in the room when the movie started, which is agitating. The 3D movies aren't worth it. These screens aren't made for 3D, they are dark and lo-tech...resulting in more of a headache than a good experience. BEWARE: this parking lot has been known to have numerous cases of loitering and groups of teenagers fighting. It's not very well-lit like it should be. I would not park in the back at all. Try to get there early so you can park in the front under the lights. They do have security now but still tread lightly.

Tuesday, 6/25/19 - My Rant - CELL PHONES NEED TO BE TURNED "OFF" IN MOVIE THEATERS! I rarely go to the movie theater, however, my beloved grandson had his hopes to go watch Toy Story 4 this past weekend, sadly that did not happen for him. What is a grandma to do? Make time to your grandson, enjoy making quality time and a life long memory for him! I have been dealing with serious health issue with my elder father of late on top of all other normal life obligations. Even though I have a full plate, I made the time to have "quality" time with my grandson. I am on a fixed income and going to watch a movie is more expensive these days than when I was a kid. On this date got my grandson and we went to the Malco Theater in Columbus, MS, to watch Toy Story 4. We went to the 6:40 P.M. showing. I estimate under 50 people in the whole theater for this movie which I thought was wonderful. Not having a packed theater I knew we would have an enjoyable evening watching this movie without noise/talking from a theater had it been packed with others. The movie was wonderful. Christian and I laughed many times over. I sat there astonished on how realistic the cartoon characters looked. So enjoyable for grandson and I until another lady decided she could just not sit there and watch the movie without getting on her cell phone! We all know if you have been to a theater and a person starts using their cell phone, that phone shines like a becon of light in a very dark theater. It was very annoying to say the least. I thought to myself, she will stop texting soon and we will get back to watch movie, but no, I was wrong. She did stop, but then, started back texting again. I did yell out, NO CELL PHONES. Yes, she did hear me, did not know which one of us adults yelled that out, so instead of her turning her cell phone OFF, she lowered it to her knees and kept texting. I could not believe this woman! She raised it again for her comfort in texting which made her cell phone brightly glow in theater for all of us to see and be annoyed. I said loudly again, NO CELL PHONES. She then looked at me and told me to call the police or better yet, come to down to where she was sitting and tell her that (yes, she was daring me to confront her). Of course, I am not going to take such action as I am not that type of person, plus, I wanted to show my grandson never be deal with a situations in an aggressive way, or be hostile or argumentative. Best thing is to distance ourselves from that person by trying to enjoy the last of the movie and leave as soon as the movie is over. I thought about seeking a manager, complained about the cell phone in theater, but I was not about to ruin my grandson enjoying the movie or leave him sitting in the theater while I seek to complain about this lady as he is still a little boy that is 10 years old. I do plan to file complaint with Malco. Unless I missed it, Malco needs to have their own commercial stating "We want all patrons to have a most enjoyable movie going experience without interruption of cell phone(s). Please make sure your cell phone is turned off during the movie. If you cannot follow this policy, you will be nicely asked to leave and forfeit monies paid."

Watched Conjuring 2 here and a group of "young" adults (early 20's but acted like preteens) kept acting up a few rows behind us. We complained after asking them ourselves to stop didn't work and when they still kept on the manager gave my husband and I free passes to come back to see it along with free consessions to make up for those horrible "adults". Nice clean theater, wonderful friendly staff, great management. Will be repeat customers for sure!

Absolutely miserable. The management made an idle warning at the 3rd showing of a scary movie. After a complaint mid movie they reentered the theater and made another idle warning. They even placed a useless security member inside the theater for crowd control, though he did nothing. The crowd was so loud and obnoxious it was nearly unbelievable. Will not return.

Reasons why I stopped going to this theater. No one is monitoring cell phone usage, which is constant. Running commentary during the entire movie by groups of idiots and individual talking, constantly. Candy wrappers rattling during the entire movie and last but not least, allowing irresponsible parents to bring babies into a loud, rated R movie or any movie. Unless it's a movie specifically for children, no one under 12 should be allowed. Kids running to the snack bar and restroom is distracting. Also, the moldy smell is getting to be too much.

don't know how everyone arrived to 4 and 5 stars. my wife and I were not impressed. we walked into number 8 for a 10pm showing and when we did it was super nasty. popcorn and candy boxes everywhere. to add, updates are needed. chairs are very uncomfortable. they receive alot of business because its no competition but i expect more.

This is not good for business if you can’t go to a movie during the week when you don’t get off till 8:00pm and work the weekends. I love the Columbus malco and staff. It’s the hrs that make it hard to see a movie.
