Saw John Wick 3. It was good. Typically high body count as you would expect from a John Wick movie. The theater itself is fine. Our seats were in one of the smaller theaters and were a bit cramped but no too bad. Our popcorn had alot of small pieces. Must have been getting close to the bottom of the batch.

We showed up for a movie to find out it had been canceled. No one could tell us where or when that cancellation had been posted online. Staff was rude about it, and of course no apology or offer of discount was made. I had kids wanting to see a movie, and so I bought tickets for the next available showing. I will not be using this theatre in the future.

This theater is ok but in need of some updates. It is located at the far end of The Summit Mall and has plenty of parking and screens, but the design is dated. Like most theaters, you can buy tickets online or at the concession stand (box office isn’t used) but the lobby feels cramped and small, often divided by backdrops or movie character cutouts. They do serve popular concessions and have the freestyle drink machines which is nice. However, I could smell the bathroom when I entered the main hall leading to the separate theaters. The theater my movie was in was very small with stadium seating and small seats. The seats were comfortable and the arm rests could be raised, which was nice. The ceiling was missing tiles and the air conditioning vents were crooked, looking like they could fall. The atmosphere was dilapidated enough we laughed about it with other patrons that were surprised at the conditions. The movie was presented flawlessly though with excellent visuals and sound quality. Overall, with a few changes, this could be a really nice theater again. It’s still well attended, but it isn’t my first choice.

I was pretty disappointed with my last visit to the Summit movie theater. It seems after AMC took over, it really went down hill and no one seemed to care as much about the facilities or service provided. There was food and trash in multiple areas that had been overlooked, including the theater we were in, and the bathroom was a bit out of sorts, too. On top of that, they were understaffed, which is why it was so slow to get food/drink and I'm sure why the staff wasn't as friendly. I'm sure it has something to do with a remodel that AMC is planning in the near future, but that doesn't mean you let it all go. Hopefully, they will pull it together like the AMC DineIn at Vestavia soon.

In utilizing Google own rating system, a 3-star stands for "it's ok" under their own standard, and yeah, I'm essentially saying this place is "ok." That's the short note: it's adequate. The prices are still steep for a movie ticket, but what can be expected of movie theaters? Place is adequately clean, and service is not notably bad or good. They basically just get the job done. For the price, however, I am not too keen on recommending this place, but if you are in the area and want to watch a movie, there is nothing horrible about this place.

This place is garbage. The theatres are outdated and smell like mildew. The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. The popcorn is stale and the manager is so rude. I would rather drive an hour out of town than to come back to this theater. If I could give zero stars I would.

Popcorn had a burnt oil taste, like the oil got to hot. They charged me for my movie, even though I'm an Alist customer, and then told me that there was nothing they could do about it, that I would be better reserving my ticket online. That would not have helped, because the app wouldn't pull up for me to show them my card, so I couldn't show them my ticket. I gave them my phone number, which is what I do if I can't pull up my app, and it evidently didn't pull for them either, or I would not have been charged for my ticket. I don't have this problem at Patton Creek.

Missed 1st part of movie waiting in line for concessions. There were 2 registers open and 5 staff members. Counted 3 other concessions that could have been staffed and open. People were getting out of line b/c their movies were starting. Premier people were walking straight up to concessions after we all were standing there FOREVER! The staff that was there was kind and doing their very best.

Waited 30 min in line to buy tickets then had to buy tickets online so wouldn’t have to wait longer and miss the movie. Long lines. Very few employees. Waited 20 minutes during movie to buy popcorn. Popcorn was so full of kernels we couldn’t eat it. Very poor service. Will try to go somewhere else next time.

The prices are ridiculous for the concession. The lines are always way too long with only one person at the window. They over all movies which is not cool either. The line where they take tickets (only one) is slow, the scanner takes too long to kick. I've been to some great AMC locations but this is not one.

Theatre seats need to be upgraded. I'm 5'1" and I had to sit side ways e with my legs across the empty seat next to me just to be comfortable. Other than that the theatre was clean. Temp was perfect and popcorn was delicious

Went to see They Shall Never Grow Old. It was a one-night only showing, and they had projection problems and couldn't fix them. They did give us reimbursements, but it was very frustrating experience. Before this I had never had any problems with him before.

Excellent customer service by Devon (hope I got his name right) . He so graciously watched my popcorn for me while I dashed to the ladies room. He was super nice and took time to patiently explain the movie perks, rewards programs,etc. I personally spoke with his manager regarding my wonderful experience. The theatre is very clean, spacious and offers very comfortable environment and stadium seats. The popcorn is very flavorful but costly yet worrh it. I'm visiting Birmingham from the east coast and can take back an excellent report!

There was an issue with the sound of the movie and further inspection showed there was no immediate way of fixing it. I was really disappointed because it was kind of a trip to travel to the theater for this event, but the manager on duty was so kind and apologetic. She immediately refunded me my money and gave me a voucher to see the movie at any time while it was still in theaters, plus let me attend another movie right then of my choosing. She really made me feel like my trip wasn't ruined by missing my original movie, and I got to see spider-man!

This USED TO BE a nice theater. Now, it isn't. It also IS NOT keeping up with the type of quality of customer that lives and ships in this area. Don't bother prepaying for tickets (*with some exceptions*) - it won't get you into the theater any faster. You still have to go through the "refreshment center" line to get your tickets just like every one else... Unless you are an AMC A List member (btw that's a paid membership) then you can "jump in front" of others. Now, if you're tech savvy, you can have them scan your QR code before entering the theater, but if you want snacks, you still have to go through the line. Their actual theaters need updating to a more modern luxury feel like many other theaters already have. The staff looks like it's on a skeleton crew. Every time I come here, I feel disappointed all around. I wouldn't have even come to this theater today if it wasn't for a specific movie that my family wanted to see. The past few times I've been here wasn't any better. I seriously hope I don't have to come back to this theater. While I'm sure there are worse theaters out there, people come to the Summit for specialty, exclusive, expensive shopping. This theater isn't in line with that concept. If I'm paying premium movie prices, I expect a bit more then what they have to offer.

They should either turn this theater into a Dollar theater or close it down. This theater is in a Prime location, but it's Run like it is a Dollar Cinema (Lorna Road). In the 2 times I've been there this year, they've had no one taking tickets at the Front booths. You have to get your Tickets at the Concession area and both times they only had 1 person running it . At least at the Lorna Road (Dollar Cinema) location they always have at least two people working if not more. Also they have a problem with their cooling systems at the Summit....There needs to be a change with this theater or the only people that will be showing up are those from out of town because they don't know any better.....

The two times I've been there the ticket booth isn't open. So you have to stand in the concession line to get tickets. Not horrible unless they have one person at the register. Not fair to customers AND staff to be running your business this way

This location is okay, and is located in the busy Summit Mall. Theaters seem to be decent sized. Was a bit disappointed in the digital surround sound ,but picture quality was good. I guess my true argument is in the seats. I expected to have leather reclining seats, instead I got cloth stadium seating. Maybe more stars if you remodel your seat and sound system.

This theater is the most out dated theater in the whole Birmingham area. It’s quite ridiculous, paid $14 for a tickets for an extremely small room with a Walmart quality projector. They make you purchase tickets at the concession stand, bad idea in general. We saw the line and purchased online but the line is too long too even consider getting popcorn or snacks. I keep giving this place a second chance but it’s almost comical it’s still in business. You think with a popular location they would renovate.

SO AT THAT POINT MULTIPLE PEOPLE TRIED PURCHASING ONLINE AND BECAUSE THE MOVIE HAD ALREADY STARTED AT 7:45 THE NEXT TIME WAS 9:15. WE ASKED IF WE COULD JUST BUY THE 9:15 TICKET AND HEAD ON TO THE MOVIE. AT THAT POINT HE SAID YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL 9:15. PEOPLE JUST STARTED LEAVING. IT BECAME A HUGE JOKE! MYSELF ANS MY HUSBAND HAD PAID FOR A SITTER TO WATCH THIS MOVIE AT THAT PARTICULAR TIME AND ALONG WITH OTHER CUSTOMERS WERE TREATED RIDICULOUS!!!! WILL NOT EVER BE GOING BACK TO THIS THEATER AGAIN! PLUS THE MANAGER WAS EXTREMELY RUDE! I HOPE SOMEONE STEPS IN AND FIXES WHO THINGS ARE BEING DONE AND PAYING GUEST ARE TREATED OR THAT PLACE WONT BE THERE MUCH LONGER. Went to see toy story, it's a shame the summit is now reserve seating. If you enjoy very little leg room bright lights from cell phones, this is the movie theater for you, this theater has aged and very little done to bring it up to standard of most modern theaters. Really wish they would find a way to eliminate cell phone signal in the theaters.. Won't be back anytime soon.

If you're going to an AMC theater, you can expect an upscale movie experience. Everything is clean and comfortable. All the staff has this, "you're here, and you're going to love going to movies" vibe. They were pretty fast with my nachos despite everybody wanting food before his or her movie. Please keep in mind the the AMC with a spoon and dine is in vestevia hills. You can now order online.

I bought tickets and food at the concession stands from the manager, Haley. She took my money (cash) and openly put it in her pockets, then said we didn't need tickets and to just walk in to our theatre. Didn't get my change back and she stole from the company. Terrible way to run a buisness.

A very disappointing experience with Summit 16 this evening. This is an older theater in a VERY upscale shopping center. I am not complaining and giving this theater a bad rating because its old. I am giving it one star for the lack of customer service and general upkeep of this theater. Also the employees do not care and will lie to your face. Problem one, its 7:30 on a Saturday night. There is only ONE box office attendant selling and printing tickets. There is not a kiosk for ticket sales or printing either. There is two lines for the ONE concession stand that is operating. The other two concession stand are not stocked and look like they have not been used in years. There is one line for AMC Stubs members, which is a paid service, and one for general customers. The employees are not checking to see if the stubs members are actual stubs members, so these people get to skip the huge line. I asked the young man working the register at the concession if they were checking to see if people were really stubs members if they were using that line. He said yes. I never heard anyone ask anyone using that line for any verifying info. I know this because the young lady behind me told her boyfriend to get in that line to see if they could skip the 7 groups in front of us. And it worked. There was one other employee who lied to me when I confronted them about the lady cutting with her boyfriend, saying they were stubs members. I informed the manager later on when it was not so busy and she was very uncaring and spouted out the canned I'm sorry and oh we will go over things with our staff. My advise, drive a little further and go to the better theaters. Unfortunately this theater gets some of the smaller movies, so you have no choice.

Arrived at 6:30 for the new Avengers End Game movie and it took us like 5 minutes to park and get up to the door. We needed an audio description headset so we immediately went to customer service to get that and it took the manager all the way up until 7 to get that “programmed” and by the time he got it fixed and we go into the theater it was full. Nowhere to sit. We got there early so that wouldn’t happen to us and then a group of teenagers sat beside us and acted awful and when the movie started the audio descriptive headset was not programmed so we went to just try to get a refund because by the time they would’ve reprogrammed it my boyfriend would’ve missed too much of the movie to understand where it was at. So we asked for a refund got denied that and they gave us 4 free movie passes but we don’t want to go back. I guess we’re just screwed.

THIS WAS SATURDAY AFTERNOON AROUND 3:15 PM AFTER THE "JOHN WICK" MOVIE. THE BUCKET CLEARLY STATES THAT " AMC STUBS MEMBERS RECEIVE SECOND REFILL FREE ON SAME DAY PURCHASE WITH VALID RECEIPT". I WAS TOLD MY THE FAT BOY IT WOULD COST ME $4.49. LUDICROUS!

With exception of giving us tickets to the wrong movie, giving me sight impaired headphones instead of hearing impaired headphones, the pipes in the ladies room singing so loud it hurt, and the sink counter looked similar to a lake, it wasn't too bad, luckily the movie was loud enough that I could enjoy it with my hearing aides in, most the time that isn't the case. Hopefully they upgrade the bathroom counter to granite instead of laminate before they completely fall apart. Seriously, the place needs an overall.

It would be nice if they advertise open caption on the screen. Who would want to watch a movie plus read the words. Also the manager (Haley) is very very rude. Also the television screen is little.

This sadly didn't meet expectations. The line outside was long. The concession line was even longer. They clearly operate understaffed. This is probably intentional but not good service for customers. Get your tickets online and stash your purse or bag. I loved popcorn so that's not really a solution but if you can forgo the dreadfully long concession line, do!

Most of my dates are at this theatre, and it’s amazing. I've only had issues once (sound broke during commercials) and my entire group was given vouchers for free movies, despite the fact that they fixed it before the movie had started.
