This Movie Theater belongs to the category of Movie theater.
They definitely upgraded up from the Carmike days. The price is always right.
Popcorn be to salted. They ran out of nachos. The theater always stink it have a bad odor and you smell this the entire movie.
Best price for kids movies!!
Not a fancy/luxury theatre, but has almost all elements of a good entertainment. 3D movies also available. Great prices, snacks, and movie and time choices. Easy to buy tickets either online or at-the-spot. Recommended for a good relaxing day out. Child-friendly.
It's a dollar movie theater so can't complain too much. I do wish the seat would get a good cleaning. Sometimes it's scary to sit in them & some are broken.
My son and I love this location. We always received great service. Definitely love the prices of $1.99. popcorn is awesome. You definitely need to check out this place and it comes highly recommended
Had good time. Worth going to if you want to see a good movie at a much better price saving a buck or two .
The only negative was the restroom. There should be someone checking & cleaning if necessary every hour. The women's restroom smelled like urine & there was a stall that should have been marked out of order because when you flush,it flooded &it was obvious that it had been happening for a while by the wet floor. Otherwise, the theater was just fine. I enjoyed the movie.
The last time I went, it was still a Carmike cinema. It's a great value if you don't mind waiting a few weeks to see a movie. The popcorn and drinks are regular price. You should probably get there a little before the movie since there is no ticket window. The tickets are sold at the consession stand and the lines are usually long. This is a good way for an older theater to make some money and for you to see a movie for a good price.
There's no need to get to the theater until 30 or 40 minutes after the scheduled start time. Our movie tonight had over 45 minutes of previews!
First time going it was nice, carpet was a little warn but place looked clean. I was tired of paying ten dollars every time I went to the movies in cullman, so we tryed this theater. It was inexpensive to get in I think about $1.50 for regular movies and $3.00 for 3-D movies, snacks were regular price, but I got a big Popcorn and they were only to eager To refill it :)!!!! Girls working the counter were really nice and best you can put your own BUTTER on your popcorn!! Well this was better than winning the lottery :). ( NO it doesn't take much to make me happy). They have the "coke freestyle soda machines, so you have tons of drink options. I would go back, their was no problems. Could use a update on the carpet. But I would rather go here than pay $10.00 dollars just for tickets, and then have to buy $50.00 worth of snacks, which is a soda and small popcorn, at first run movies, I will wait as few weeks and see it here cheaper.. new favorite place :).
Great sound and popcorn. Big screen.
Price is good but popcorn and drinks as still way to high.. Floor is always sticky and seats need to be updated
Raising the price to $4 a person is unacceptable for what they offer! I knew AMC would fudge this up.
Decent friendly service. The only complaint I have is the seats are way small. Though I am a big man. It's just usually the arms will let you pull them up but not here. I will visit this theater more even with this issue. You cant beat the prices.
I had to tell them to start the movie. When I got into the theater it was nothing playing on the screen and I have to get up and tell them about it. The movie started about 7 minutes after it was supposed to start. That never happened before but I did not appreciate it.
Went on a group trip ... planning on a personal trip
It could use a face lift on the building.. and inside but the popcorn and drinks are fresh and good.. movies are great.. glad someone thought to make a affordable movie theater..
Great affordable place to take kids. Make sure to buy the bucket at begining of the year.
Love my me time. Went to see Breakthrough. Only Theater that had this listing. Loved the movie and my kids meal. Budgeting at it best.
Nice theatre.$1.50 admission can't be beat. No arcade :( Comfortable seats, Concessions are incredibly expensive, but fresh so that's a plus.
THE DOLLA-DOLLA-MOVIES-YO
It's not quality accommodation, but it's cheap . Can't complain too much about it. The reason I deducted 1 star is because the cleanliness of the place isn't top notch. Also the cinema screen is a little tattered at the top for some. Good place to find cheap movies that have been out of the "new movie" cycle.
The theater was stuffy & it smelled like old dirty carpet. The floor in between the seats were greasy & my daughter & I both slid while trying to sit down & get up to move. The quality of the movie was fine. Even though I was paying less I still expect to be in a clean environment. From the smell I felt like the seats were dirty & I didn't want to put my head on the seats. Another spooky moment was when I noticed that one of the seats was covered with a sheet as if it were draped to commemorate someone's death. I only stayed because of the kids. (Theater # 8) The ladies restroom was nasty, floors and all. I still feel dirty & it's a day later. The workers were not very personable either. When we left out there were other movies still in progress, but there was not a worker to be found. My son thought they had all gotten of and went home and left the theater open. Last but not least....My children's long awaited hot buttered popcorn was COLD!!! No warmth anywhere in heir bags. I don't remember it being like this before. Perhaps they were having a bad night. At any rate I was totally disappointed.
The screens and sound systems were at one time severely lacking even for $1.50 tickets but since updates and upgrades (Inc 3D shows) were made, the movie-going experience Is on par with the full priced/new release theaters. Concessions are limited to the basics but are prepared fresh and as tasty as the other theaters. So if you missed a movie at its initial release, 2-3 months later you can catch it here. If seeing a relatively new movie while enjoying popcorn and soda for under $12 sounds good, this is the theater for you. *Popular movies (Superheroes and what not) will draw larger crowds which can at times get a little rowdy. May want to avoid weekend nights.
Price is better for older films but the theater is dated and looks dirty
My first visit at this theater and they were not open on time. They said they were short of staff and for me to come back at 10:15 when our love time was 10:05 I actually arrived at 9:45. I told them that my ad on needed to use the restroom so they let us in. While I was waiting for my son I could the workers (an older woman and teenage girl) complaining because they had to let us in saying that no the lobby is usually empty that early especially on a Sunday. The place wasn't clean. Popcorn on the floor, candy paper in the cupholders, dirty seats and booster seats. I gave 2 stars because the theater we were in was almost empty which is perfect for my son with autism and the cheap tickets. If I come back again and my experience improves I will update my review.
Great cheap movies
Everyone was very nice, the theater was clean, a little cool (take a lightweight jacket), popcorn was good.
Lately, there have been some major improvements to this theater. Things have been painted and the building has become a lot more organized than before. Its more welcoming. I enjoy coming to this location and new management has made it a very pleasant experience
Best movie theater in Birmingham. $1 movies are definitely the best. You get to see great movies at a fraction of the price. If you want that real movie feel in a theater in this is the place to go to save your money. The theater is clean and they have all the amenities that the usual theaters have except for the price and I love it. This is the place Birmingham. Two thumbs up
Very great place
We went to see a 3D movie as a family of 4 and were overcharged. The movie wasn't 3D. Everyone was upset and the management didn't really care. The short cashier had a bad attitude from the time we entered and ordered our drinks and tickets. I am not sure what has changed but we won't return. This theater was a good place at one time not too long ago.
Their High but it's worth it the movie is wonderful the sounds and speakers are fantastic but the bathroom is fility and yeah that's my opinion
Excellent price if you don't mind waiting for it to hit that theater. What, can you expect for $1.50 for adults per ticket. The theaters are not over crowded and clean.
This was a Carmike Cinema, and then bought out by AMC. AMC invested in it's new acquisition and it is a much more pleasant places to experience runs of movies that are at the end of their theatre viewing cycle.
This is a great way to have fun!
Good place to watch movies but would like more options for popcorn combos.
Never crowded and you can’t beat the cheap movies. Love it
I paid for 3D and it wasn't 3D. They didn't give me my recipt and they didn't want to give my money back!
The theater I was in smelled like someone had used the bathroom in there. The floors were sticky and some of the chairs were broken. Movie was great though
Been coming here for years. Love it
Me and my family loves it
Theater was closed, no one there. Kids disappointed
Great value, theatre declining & shabby but friendly staff, concessions are extremely too high
Mom and daughter time
Great movie theater
Make sure you check their website and/or Fandango before you take your family out to a movie because they can AND do cancel shows. I found that out today. The manager did make things right. So, I appreciate that!
Sure the movies are older, but it is a great place to let my little kids experience the theater. We can take the whole family for roughly the price of one ticket anywhere else
Great to go see a movie without spending part of your paycheck. Yeah you gotta wait to see something new there but, it's still pretty good.
My husband and I just had the WORST movie experience of our 36 years together at the 4:30 showing of Instant Family. A woman sat in front of us with three kids, one of which was a baby. That child screamed (not cried but screamed) thru most of the movie. Several patrons, including my hisband complained to the manager but all he did was ask her to take the child out. He did not insist. Did not get security or go to any other means. Then a woman across the aisle started telling her to please take the child out. She cursed at the woman & refused. Everyone in the theater was miserable! I left there tied in knots. What a waste of money!
Theater needs to be updated. Love that the flicks are $1.99.
Price just went up from being the $1 movie to the $2.99 movie lol. Still worth it though. I'm usually too busy to catch a premiere.
Great price if you dont have to see the movie as soon as it comes out. Older, smaller seating, but not uncomfortable. Good popcorn and drinks. Definitely not a luxury theater, but worth the price. Improved alot with new ownership!
Great older theatre. It is a classic theatre so no stadium seating. But for the box office price of $1.50 you are getting way more than you are paying for! The snack bar has been updated to include the Coke flavor selection self service. The restroom facilities are why I didn't give it. 5 star review. They needed attention to say the least. They were not up to the standards set by other AMC's. I will return and perhaps the restroom will be back into shape. Otherwise I will update and subtract a star.
Great place to take your kids to see a movie at an affordable price!
It's good for a cheap theater. It's a bit run down, but when the movies are $1.50, it's harder to keep the place maintained. All in all, a cheap family outing.
Can I be beaten for the price is an older theater so not many of the modern amenities associated with movie going but is well looked-after for a discount theater I have had multiple visits here with no problems. The staff is cordial the place is fairly tidy and there have been no problems with the films
Great for a cheap outing.
Good way to have the movie experience without paying as much. Theater was clean and not nearly as COLD
The theater was very dirty.
Great place to chill and see movies with friends
Great customer service, comfortable settings, and a good price. I truly enjoyed my visit.
This theater has really improved over the years.
Movies are great clean and the older white guy is very rude
From the moment we walked into this theatre to watch Ready Player One in 3d today, the lady in the box office and, Corey and, Kaylee at the concession booth were the most courteous and, helpful people I have encountered at a place of business in a Long time. Myself and, my family will return again God willing.
great atmosphere, nice digital screen. they didn't turn the lights down until well into to movie.
Used to be nice. WAY downhill recently. Disgusting atmosphere; dirty bathroom, carpets & seats; terrible picture & sound -- and now a hostile management. From the moment the 3D movie started, both of us there knew something was wrong: there were blurry ghostlike shapes over parts of the picture. After dozens of 3D movies, we'd never seen that before. We're seniors but our eyes are fine. Twice we changed rows, but it turned out the 3D wasn't working right because the image itself was so fuzzy. This animated Pixar movie was eye-poppingly gorgeous when we saw it before. Today we had to strain to see what we going on, & it was dim & brown even without the 3D glasses. The side speakers did not work & there was only one speaker working behind the screen. Mono. I told the manager I'd been there often & wanted to come back for 3 of the current movies -- but I hoped I could expect better & if not I'd rather watch at home. She didn't care. She just stared & smiled aggressively -- after saying it was "digital" projection & that she'd had tech people working there yesterday, so it had to be fine. Is she dumb enough to think that a (cheaper) digital file can't be lousy? Does AMC think management like this won't drive customers away?
The price is great; however, the smell of mildewed carpet (not really sure what the smell is coming from) makes it difficult for me to sit back and enjoy a full length movie. Other than that, it would be a great place to take in an old released movie.
Movies are very cheap here and they usually have a good selection! The theater isn’t that nice and a little dirty, but for the price it can’t be beat. I do wish they had more/easier to make show times for the movies.
Older theater that needs an update, however it is well kept and was a comfortable movie experience.
I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed.
The theater smells so sweaty every time I go but the price is pretty good
I come pretty often and I like it. The price for movie tickets is pretty cheap, seriously for 3 people it's like $4.25. You can buy tickets inside or outside depending on the day and what's all going on. The concession stands are about the same as most if not cheaper than other theaters. There is great parking and friendly staff.
We had the theater to ourselves again. Always pleasant here.
The theater was not cleaned from the last movie showing.
Cozy place and prices for movies are awesome. Pricing for popcorn and drink is a bit high but its understandable because of low movie tickets
Loved the ticket prices and the no wait! We arrived five minutes past start time and were seated and enjoying the upcoming trailers within four minutes of our arrival. Theater four was very clean.
Decided to take the kids to a quick movie Christmas afternoon, to change up something's and see small foot. They movie was suppose to start at 145p by 210 I was asking the lady was it going to start she said "it's not playing I'll tell a manger" I said ok and left more time goes by and nothing , then more people are asking saying there on a time schedule what is going on. All the they kept saying was that they was working on it. By then everyone kids is rowdy and annoyed. So people start leaving and getting a refund. Others like me waited patiently for the kids so by then it's two families left waiting. No one comes and and check on us or anything. One lady goes back out there and they tell her o we are not playing the movie. So with a long wait and no notice we head out for a refund. $30 something dollars. Half of that back except the popcorn fee. It's unprofessional. All we enjoyed was the popcorn and the video games.
Very good place although restrooms are not clean and have a funny smell, on my sit there was only one arm rest, the other was missing.
I love this place
$1.65 movies!
I love the price, the interior need a make over. The seats are old and the floors are sticky. The food is enjoyable.
Bad service and rude customer service
To many teenagers
Great place for cheap movies! I don't go here often, but when I do the staff seems fairly nice.
Great show for the price. The theatre is an older theatre, but is kept up. The concessions are the normal pricing, but are discounted on Tuesdays. The movie we went to see was Unfriended:Dark web. It was pretty good. They also have late shows as well. The price is $1.50 for the regular movie and $3.00 for 3D movies. They show movies that have been out recently in the newer theatres.
Enjoyed the experience
I go here quite often, especially with grandkids who want to watch the same movie over and over. I won't take a star off for having to sit through the chipmunks or muppets, that's on the grandkids. $2 a ticket is a great price and we always use the annual bucket and share drinks that can be refilled for free. Sign up for their Stubs card and you save even more. It's also in fairly good condition and clean. Just don't put anything on the floor, they tend to be a little sticky.
Love the staff and the beauty of this nostalgic gem! Can’t beat a good movie and good vibes for around a buck
Addicted to going to the movies now.
Very nice people that work here.
Great movie..no line during the week..we were the only ones in the theater..was a great experience
Great place for cheaper movies.
Great movie listings. The movies are not $1 anylonger. Now they are $1.99 and some change. So, the name can't be called $1 movies anylonger.
Been coming here for years. Since the eighties. Its had its ups n downs, but I believe now that its ran by AMC and is a second run, discounted ticket theater you get well beyond the 2$ you pay for a ticket. The staff are respectful and pleasant. Seems to me the biggest problem are your fellow guests who look at their phones and talk. Really, even if sounds down the glare from the huge phones they're constantly looking at can be a real distraction.
Low cost and big family fun...being able to afford an 3-D movie with my all my kids and my hubby was great. And the movies aren't very old so that's a plus. And of course friendly workers there. Thankful for their hospitality. Will be returning soon.
My kids love it.
Love the cheap movies. Inexpensive way to have fun with grandkids
Dated but still functional movie theater showing discounted older but still class A movies. Like every modern theater, they stick it to you on the concessions. Facilities are old, but seem relatively clean. Reasonable rainy day fun for the kids.
We enjoyed the movie. Food was great. Theater was clean. Nice, friendly staff. Great location near hotels and shopping for everyone.
It’s the poor people theatre. Sure... the seats are uncomfortable as all hell, the floor is sticky, the restroom is small and they can’t scan your QR Code. But is less than $2 a ticket. So just get your popcorn or candy & drink, sit down and shut your mouth. Furthermore... if you don’t like it. Then leave, because you’re sitting in my seat. See u there!
Went here for the first time today. Took my kids. They have digital projection, so the movies look as great as they do in "first-run" theaters. This theatre even shows 3-D movies! Nice theater, nice concession area. My kids were thrilled to see that it even had a little video arcade! Restrooms were clean. We will definitely be going back!
Cheap movie tickets, awesome. Dirty theaters, but I don't care because it's cheap. Food prices have any way to since the change up of owners.
Good price for movies. Good sound system in most theaters. Bathrooms need attention and staff needs some people skills.
The price was awesome. Even though it was spring break, and lots of kiddies, well stocked staff with by tickets and snacks at refreshment counter. The staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Actually was at wrong move theater but since so many kids movies playing at the AMC and for $1.65 a person, that's kids and adults we stayed. Theovie we elected was really not great Coco, but that was not the staff's fault.
The movies there are movie that came out q few months ago and then they play it here. It's only $1.99
Had a great time with my youngest son, he decided to take his mom to the movies.
This is a dollar movie theater, and taking that into account, it's not that bad. Bathrooms aren't the best to be sure, but this is a good cheap movie theater.
I went to see a movie that started at 7:30 but got there at 7:45 and all doors were locked. The worker ar the counter yelled out that they were closed and never looked up at us again. I will stop going to that theatre.
Best deal for a good time in all of Birmingham. I don't recommend the 3D movies here, they're kinda fuzzy. Lots of fun at this place. You can't beat a movie for a dollar and some change.
Went to the movie with my nephew and have a great time.
Great screen, good sound, friendly staff. I recommend it for a family outing that won't crush your budget. As always, I recommend to eat before arrive so you won't expend the ridiculous amount of money on popcorn and sodas which to me does not make any sense. But great movies prices!
Great night at the movies! And cheap too!
Clean! Staff nice! Great environment!
Economical movie. The seating was okay. Room was too cold.
Enjoyed a movie with family
Though I haven’t been here, and is to far away there still playing Incredibles 2 till at least 1/24/18. That’s why the 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ !!! First released in the movies on 6/15/18! OVER 7 MONTHS IN THIS AWESOME TOWN!!!!!!
We went to the movies today. It was a good movie. Had to use the restroom after the movies the restroom didn't have any tissue in the stalls but one. I n the theater it was popcorn everywhere on the floor and all in the corner of the walls. This visit to the movies wasn't very comfortable and clean.
Lovely staff and comfortable seating and very tasty popcorn and drinks! I love going here to see a big screen movie!!!
It was pretty good! Wasn't very crowded for a Wednesday night and it was clean.
Really nice Theater. And clean.
I'm Soo in love with this theater. There's just one suggestion, let's update the theater seats. I'm plus size and I was just uncomfortable. Let's begin 2019 with a step forward to improve on inclusion and diversity awareness. There was a dad there tonight with his daughter and her friends. He and I both had an uncomfortable night. This theater is the only one that has outdated "decor" #DiversityandInclusion
Decent cheap theater. The people working there are nice but the theater itself is not clean or well maintained. Theater 3 had busted speakers that made dialogue hard to understand. Not great.
Amazing experience!! Love the seats, sounds, visuals, and service. The prices for food is ridiculously expensive, but that's the same as any theater, so no knock off there. For prime seating it's a little more expensive but not much and it's totally worth it. Loved it! Highly recommended!
Plenty of room for parking. Clean interior and easy to navigate. The crew members were attentive, and they helped with anything. The tickets are bought with the concessions, not at the booths outside. The only problem was the lack of lighting inside the theatre, both before and after the film.
Everything is breaking, plastic bags over chairs, caution tape over chairs, bathroom soap completely out in both mens rooms, had to give my boys soap from the ladies bathroom of which only one of those worked, paper towel things were broken, could not get paper towels out in less than 20 tiny pieces. Made me wonder about the workers handling food. Ughh. You get what you pay for, a movie! Even that was hard to watch due to a movie in the room next to us blasting. Sounded like transformers having a party. None of the kid booster seats looked like they had been wiped in ages. Just wanted it to be cleaner. The prices on candy were $4.00 a box. Two small popcorns and two small drinks was about $23.00 way over priced. If you have people coming in on a ticket deal, the least they could is make it more reasonable pricing and you would sale more! Definitely not enough workers!
This is a good low cost movie theater. It's clean and well maintained. The movies are not usually first run but If you're willing to wait a few weeks most of the good movies will show there eventually. Highly recommended.
Great price for movies if you dont mind waiting a couple of months after its release. Same prices for snacks as most theaters. Unfortunately the seats are worn down. Many of the arm rest are loose and are not comfortable considering they are old.
Great movie's
Almost a great experience
Good place to see a movie without paying the normal high ticket price of regular theatres,
Nice viewing experience but seats all one level do view can be blocked
Fairly clean, very reasonable prices, and not overcrowded. Spent less than $35 for six kids on a movie and snacks. Down the road, it would have cost over $100. Will definitely come again this the summer. Affordable fun for the kids, big
It was disgusting in there I will go back again there were bugs on walls the bathroom were nasty and you could see the areas where they pulled the TVs out of the wall. My cup had no ice and was not full.
I payed for 3D. And guess what? It wasn't!!! I wasted my money! They never gave me my recipt so I couldn't get my money back. Thanks a lot!
Budget Theater. Overall, the condition of the theater is good. Sufficient for the price you pay. Employees are very friendly.
Helpful staff easy to deal with. that's all I need to give 5 stars
Good place to take your woman and catch a good movie
It's a dollar movie theater. If there is something there you want to watch, it is worth the drive.
Great movies, warm popcorn, kind cashier, good deals
Okay, so it's not the most up-to-date theater around. But how can you complain about $2 movies? And the Tuesday deals on food make it an even better bargain.
Good deals and cheap prices but my movie had serious audio issues and the the video was seriously minimized out of frame, staff kept stepping in front of the screen and I've been waiting 30 minutes for it to get fixed and nothing has been done, it's dirty old and needs renovation
I always enjoy being able to see movies so cheaply!
Staff is real nice but pretty dirty. Small theater but went to see a late movie and there was food all over the floor and wrappers. Maybe forgot a room to clean?
Ticket price is cheap but concessions are still high like a normal theater. Seating, screen, and air conditioning are all old and falling apart.
Cheap price for fairly recent movies. Never have a problem when I go
Experience was great! Staff service was quick and professional, clean bathrooms, and most of all...cheap movies. Will definitely return.
