If I could give less than one star I would. Multiple issues came up, none of which you should have to deal with in an already difficult time for your family. My father passed away unexpectedly and we had to pick a funeral home on short notice with no planning for a cremation. Wichmann Fargo seemed fine from the outside and the staff was polite when we met with them. First, the cost is double what you will find on other websites that do cremations in the area. When you have a death in the family, you won't spend time getting quotes and shopping around, but they are pricey compared to others.
The director that met with me was going to send me additional information on social security and an obituary template, which he never did. Not a big deal, but should have been a red flag for the bad communication to follow. They told me they would call when all the paperwork was done and they were going to cremate my dad. They never called so I followed up on a Monday and they said sometime this week and they would confirm. They never did. When I contacted them again on Saturday, I was told that my dad was cremated earlier in the week and I had 30 minutes to come and get him, or wait until the following week.
They made the poor office admin make the call since those responsible didn't want to deal with it. I asked for a manager to call me back and got a lame excuse about someone being on vacation and it slipped through the cracks, which should never happen in a business this small and one that should be focused on customer service and respect for those who have gone.
If you are looking to pay top dollar to be left in the dark and your love ends treated poorly, this is the place for you. If you are a normal person, I highly recommend you avoid.
