REVIEWS OF Smith Funeral & Cremation Care IN West Virginia

Kind, sympathetic, dedicated, respectful, caring, professional. They worked with me step-by-step to ensure that all of the expectations I had were met while staying within my financial means but never taking from the dignity and respect my loved one deserved. We are greatful for the service Jason and Cathy provided and the care they showed us, as if they were part of our family. I would recommend them to everyone.

The most respectful and caring funeral home I've ever dealt with. Jason, his wife Cathy and their staff went above and beyond to help my family in our time of need. They treated us like they've known us all of our lives. I just can't say enough. I've already done pre-planning with them. Bless you all. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

This funeral home is owned and managed by a couple who have truly found their calling. Not only is the building beautiful and impeccable, but their level of personal service is quite rare these days. I was thoroughly impressed with the kindness and compassion Jason and Cathy Smith presented towards myself and my family in our time of need. I will always remember and appreciate the hospitality given to everyone who came to pay their final respects to my father. I am so thankful they were able to honor his life in a very special and meaningful way. I certainly recommend Smith Funeral Home when the unfortunate need arises for your family.

My family would like to thank Jason and Cathy Smith from the bottom of our hearts for the loving care, and respect that was show to our family in the passing of my mother. We were treated like we were family. Any questions we had they were answered right away. My mother went in and completed her arrangements before she passed and all her wishes were completed as she wished. I highly recommend Smith’s Funeral home for all of your end of life needs for your loved ones. All the staff was great as well and very welcoming and respectful.

Jason and Cathy are two of the most caring and compassionate people I have ever known. They treated my brother n laws and my brother with such respect as if they personally knew them their whole lives. Visitations and funerals were all just as we requested and they truly care about the loved ones and try and greet everyone with kind words. I am especially grateful that Jason was able to handle the tasks involved in getting my brother back to Wv on such a short notice.

I want to take a minute and thank Jason and Cathy for their kindness and very personal attention to our father, CDR Thomas Zinn's funeral arrangements. From the moment we began speaking with them we appreciated their kindness and sensitivity to every detail of what resulted in a beautiful send off for our dad. Thank you so much, both of you, for making his passing more bearable. I would recommend Smith's to anyone considering the pending or recent passing of a loved one. Smith's, easily the best choice for funeral arrangements in Morgantown. Very Respectfully Yours, Tom Zinn

If I could give Jason and Cathy 10 stars I would. Let me preface this post by saying, I do not have human children. But the care and compassion I received in the assistance with the cremation of my furbaby was amazing. After a long battle with a heart condition, anemia, failing kidneys and more than likely some for of cancer, I made the decision with my vet it was time for my beloved Crosby to stop suffering. My next call was to Smith Funeral and Cremation Care. I know Jason is not in the actual business of pet cremation but as a friend I didn’t want to trust my furbaby with anyone else. He called me back immediately. Jason arrived at my home shortly after Crosby crossed the rainbow bridge. He said a prayer for Crosby with me, Marte (Crosby’s fursister) and the close friends at my home during the euthanasia. Jason transported Crosby to High Meadow Pet Crematory strapped in on his human cot. Today I picked up the ashes and got to visit with Jason and Cathy for a short time. They made a difficult experience peaceful and comforting. My question for you all is, if they show this amount of respect and compassion for a furbaby imagine the service you would receive for your human loved one. Why would you want to trust them with anyone else?

It has taken me a few weeks to find the words to write this review. You never think you would need to review a funeral home, but I found myself thinking that if I didn't, there would be many people who wouldn't know about the kindness of Jason and Cathy. There are no words that I can find that remotely come close to the grateful feelings I have for Smith Funeral Home. When my mother died on February 12th, she barely looked like the person I knew her as. She was frail, yellow, and gone and it broke my heart to see her like that. My family had planned to cremate her but before we did so, we had a private viewing of just my immediate family. I wasn't sure what to expect when we saw her, but I wasn't expecting her to look like mamma again. She was finally at peace and although her passing helped with that, Jason and his wife helped her look it as well. I will forever be eternally thankful for the compassion and sincerity they showed my family in this difficult time. If you need someone to not only care for your departed loved ones but to care for you too, Jason and Cathy are the people to go to.

It is so nice to have a funeral home that loves their families as much as you! Dedication is very valuable and makes a difference.

Jason and everyone there is so kind. They worked with us when my MIL passed. They were on hand to help us anyway they could. Although the circumstances of meeting them were bad I am glad Smith's was there to help.

On February 23, 2016 my son, Randy, passed away unexpectantly at the age of 29. After first going to Hastings and being treated with no respect or sympathy and as if we were just a means of paying their bills, we found Jason Smith of Smith Funeral and Cremation Care. He and his wife were totally amazing! He treated my son and all of us with care, respect, and sympathy at a very bad time in our lives. Even though my son was cremated, the service and visitation was well planned and beautiful. I will never forget the wonderful treatment we received from Jason and his wife. I very highly recommend this funeral home to everyone that ever has the need.

I wanted to take a moment and thank Smith Funeral & Cremation Care and the owner Jason Smith and his wife Cathy. When things happen in your life that cut you so deep and you arent prepared for a loved one to leave... true friendships shine the brightest. Jason has been a life long friend to my husband Lee Bibb . In a conversation of asking him how to handle things when Mikey passed, this person whom I have never met in person, simply took us by the hand and said "let me help". He took all the worry and hardship of a death and embraced my sis in law Ann Ford George and helped us weather this hard time in our lives. He loved us through it with care as though it was his family. He took the time to check on each of us and see how we were doing and the moment I called him after Mike passed, I knew he had us and there were no worries needed. Did I mention he did this from 2 states away? Everything he provided for us was above and beyond the call of duty, I dont know if I could ever thank him enough for his friendship and meeting them now is a MUST. A hug of gratitude and a grateful heart of how well you walked Ann through this will never be enough. But Lee says there will be a bottle of Bulleit Whiskey involved lol Thank you so much for showing me what your friendship to Lee means to you and for all those that are looking for a kind loving experience during the worst of times... this couple and their business are hands down the people you need in your life during those times... <3 Now... if only he was a Dallas Cowboy fan ....lol
