Thank you Peni and Shelly Malohifoou for taking care of mom with respect, love, and quality care!! Before mom passed away, on several occasions when she would remind me "if something ever happened to me" ... the message was. "Make sure you have Peni's number and that's all you need to do, just call Peni and HE WILL DO EVERYTHING!" That literally was the truth! Our mother passed away last month, June 16th. I made that phone call and Peni "took care of mom, took care of everything!" Aside, from the great quality service we received, I loved the extra little touches he himself adds in. He took mom on a final drive by our home, he chatted with the pallbearers before hand about their responsibility and a reminder to respect and care for the person inside the casket... their mother, their aunt, their grandmother. Lastly, growing up in the states vs growing up in the island there are some minor cultural differences when it comes to funerals and other significant events in a individuals life. With respect to the older generation, Peni represented our family without any reservations in some of those tough situations when it could've been a disaster. I guess you can say he's "sweet and spicy!"

Dealing with the death of a loved one is hard enough, so it was a welcome relief to have Lehi and the rest of the Serenity team help us deal with the arrangements of my sweet grandma’s funeral. They were very helpful with the cremation of my mother. They weren't perfect, they did accidentally delay shipping her ashes and death certificates. But, they did walk us through everything and took care of all the things we needed done at a reasonable price.

My grandma passed unexpectedly, and Serenity was chosen by our chaplain. We had never gone through anything like this before so we had no idea how and where to start. Caleb was amazing the whole way, and they took such great care of my grandma. He helped us with planning every detail, and answered alot of questions on the way. Our family was extremely pleased with the services serenity provided for us this month. We worked with Beau, he was so patient, caring, & so compassionate in such a hard time. He took care of everything, and the people there are just so amazing. I don't have a single complaint about this company. I know that planning a funeral is an emotional time between family & there will be fights. I'm just glad that we hired Serenity because they made sure everything was smooth. They went above & beyond when it was time to dress our beloved. We ran late and they closed at 5, instead of rushing us out in dressing our loved one, this sweet Gentleman stayed over late so we could finish, took us almost 1.5 hrs. My mother passed away last week and I had no idea where to even start.. a family friend had gone through serenity when her husband and son had passed and she had nothing but great loving things to say about Lehi and his team. There are no words to describe how amazing they were. My Mother’s passing was such a surprise and they were so knowledgeable and kind and helpful. She died the Thursday before Thanksgiving and the funeral was on Monday not only did they simplify the process but they also took care of details I didn’t even know to think about not to mention they were affordable. It was so helpful to show up and have so much done especially since I wasn’t in my right state of mind. When our niece passed suddenly and tragically we were devastated, we didn't know Peni personally but had seen him at many funerals in our stake. I reached out to another niece for his number and even though it was very late he insisted we call straight away. My sibling went there when his baby was born too soon. It was not a good experience. They sealed the coffin before we could even give the baby the blankets or little gifts for her. They also called my sibling at 11:00 P.M. to ask them to come earlier to pick her up, so that they could take care of another body that was coming in. They had already made plans with other family members to meet at 8:00 A.M. the next morning. They, of course, couldn't call people to change plans since it was so late at night. They made my brother feel bad in this incredibly difficult time. I understand that businesses get busy, but seriously-- she may have been small in size, but she made a huge impact on our lives. If anyone from Serenicare reads this-- PLEASE treat the next family in this situation better than my brother, and sister-in-law!!! The only reason I gave 1 star is because i couldn't post it unless I did.

My sister passed away from a train wreck in July and my 6 Yr old son passed in Sept 2016 of a tragic drowing.Just 2 months apart from each other. From day one Peni was professional, caring, considerate, willing to listen, full of understanding. He and his beautiful wife Shelly and awesome son Morgan went ABOVE and BEYOND to make sure we never were alone. He put so much love and effort into making sure my loved ones were taken care of. We have used them before with a different professional to assist us, and never had a problem. Now, after the death of my father, the service assistant was adjudicate, but only just. After "forgetting" to press the record button to document the services the best we get is a "sorry" for the mistake. The worst of it was that all Morgan could say after further discussion was "Well, you don't have to accept my apology". I can understand a malfunction of the equipment but due to incompetency and a condescending attitude afterward I can't recommend them or give them any more than one star. This time around, we got their C-Team. UPDATE: This is a bit late I know. Just wanted to post that an attempt to make some restitution was made. The apology was well presented. And accepted. It does not bring back what was missed, but I appreciate the effort tremendously. A reminder, the first time around was fantastic. The service agent who helped us is no longer with the company. This probably makes a big difference.

They did everything adequately, except they forgot to press the record button during the service. When called all they said was, "sorry- I guess if you don't want to accept the apology..." The casket handles were also a completely different color than shown in the magazine. I would understand if a glitch happened and part of the recording got deleted or something, but simply forgetting to press the button and then having such a terrible attitude about it is unacceptable. Now the entire service of my grandfather is lost because of incompetence. It's a shame, because they handled my grandmother's funeral just fine! Find someone else to take care of your funeral services.

The morning my dear husband past, I had sat at the dining table with a notepad and pencil trying to figure what to do next. I think I sat there for a couple of hours with nothing to write. The shock and the reality was all too numbing. My sister had heard of an amazing funeral director who was referred by family. That afternoon I sat down with an angel, Peni was his name. He was calm and sensitive to my emotions and respectfully started by reassuring me that everything would be ok. I sat through our meeting and listened. Everything that I had questions about was answered and I was relieved of all the stresses of the unknown. Things moved quickly and effortlessly from that day forward until the burial of my love. Peni and his team at Serenity gave me reassurance down to the very last detail. A couple of nights ago Peni and his wife stopped by and gave me a cd of the services. How grateful was I to listen and reminisce on words left by loved ones about my dear husband. Down to the smallest of details were covered. I felt so much love and comfort during this time, a time where your heart feels so alone and literally breaking. Peni, to do what you do is a 'calling'.
