My great-grandparents and a few of their children are interred in the mausoleum, almost immediately inside the entrance. Last month I stopped by for a visit and was surprised by how trashy the place looks. The garish lighting is awful. It’s a mausoleum, not an operating room. Fake flowers are one thing but the debris left behind by families of the deceased is unacceptable. Right around the corner from my great-grandfather (a former mayor of Ogden) is a niche at floor level with full cans of beer and nasty trinkets and gee gaws, one of which states that the deceased was a big fan of “pussy”. This place needs to be cleaned up, both the junky displays and the cobwebs surrounding the windows.

When My brother passed away I called to see if I could come and see him one last time before he was cremated . I was NOT allowed to go see him. So my sister called and ask if she could come and was NOT allowed to see him. But Leavitt's did not hesitate to take our check for the cremation . I will not recommend them to anyone. It was very unprofessional they way they told us we could not come. If there was a place to give them 0 stars I would.

The staff were so kind and caring in our time of grief. Detail and organized throughout the process. I would recommend Leavitt's Mortuary to all my family and friends. They will be taking care of all of my families needs in the future.

During the hardest time of my life, Bret walked me through the process and was so caring and kind. The service was amazing and the gals that work at the desk are so accommodating and did an amazing job on the music, the pictures, the obituary, and the programs. Thank you so much for your caring and respect.

Leavitt’s Mortuary has helped our family with the passing of our Father, 8 years ago and the recent passing of our Mother. We had setup a preplan with Leavitt’s which made the experience less stressful during the time of their passing. Everyone that assisted us was very kind, compassionate and willing to do what ever was needed. We highly recommend them and thank them for sharing this experience with us.

I went on Memorial Day weekend to take flowers to my grandparent's grave with my whole family and the lawn around their grave was overgrown and unruly. The rest of the lawn had been mowed, but it was like they missed a whole strip around my grandparent's grave. I understand that their maintenance crew makes mistakes, but the one weekend per year when they should do a professional job with mowing and trimming their grounds should be Memorial Day. I've been watching the maintenance go downhill for some time in terms of pruning trees and managing the grounds and quite frankly, I'm disgusted. Not to mention, this was after it took over a year to get the headstones placed correctly on their grave after my grandmother passed away. She spent over 9 months without a headstone until I finally demanded that a temporary be placed on her grave until they could get her actual headstone installed.

Leavitt's do a good job, they take care of people. When they are in public or on the job they are always cordial with people. I recomend them. The grounds are outstandingly nice, very peaceful and well maintained. Been to numerous funerals there and it is always a nice experience.

Leavitt's Mortuary has taken care of all the arrangements for both my parents funerals. My mom passed over five years ago and Dad this last month. Our family was treated with so much sympathy and respect as every imaginable detail was discussed and taken care of. Mom and Dad were even buried in a cemetery in Holladay which is miles from their mortuary in Ogden. Dad's funeral was so beautiful, Jace from Leavitt's made sure to find out every last detail about Dad. He asked if Dad was a Veteran, which he was. When he found this out, with our approval, he made sure to arrange for the flag ceremony at the Internment and the 21 gun salute. I never would have know that this was possible or available. That added portion of the service along with everything else being so reverent and respectful at both of my parents funerals, made the hard parts of losing my parents so much easier in our family's time of loss. Mike Leavitt the owner even called our family to offer his condolences. If you are looking for a mortuary to take care of any arrangements after a loved one passes, look no further. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The Datwyler Family.
