After a career in the world of business, I worked for Memorial Oaks for a short time as a "sales person". It didn't take long for me to discover that I am not sales material and I left and went to work elsewhere in a non-sales capacity. However, one thing that impressed me at the time and continues to impress me today was the dedication of the entire staff to the families of the bereaved. I had no idea of the extent to which the staff would go to ensure that families were supported in their time of loss. On several occasions I saw management and staff "bend the rules" in order to help family members find closure after the death of a loved one. While a funeral can be a significant expense if a family allows it to be, do not mistake the sales efforts of the funeral home staff as a callous disregard for the needs of the family.

My mother attempted to ensure the best for my fathers burial. Bruce was the employee whom "handled" all of our needs. Last minute we find out the plot my mother chose and was reassured was available for my father, was not available. During these extremely difficult days, my mother was constantly ensuring, and reassured that everything was taken care of. The day or two before burial, we find or are told the insurance hadn't been verified, so we would have to reschedule the burial!!! All family and friends had already been notified!! Reschedule??? I watched my mother break down in an extreme sadness, panic, and overburdened. With the many attempts to speak with Bruce, he blamed other employees, or flat out ignored or was not available. Eventually WE were able to accomplish what he is employed to. Lastly, months past and my fathers military marker was still not present.. Come to find, it was still on Bruces desk!!! After speaking with the upper management, they did however attempt to pay for the marker, and give reasonable discounts... However, NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE ANXIETY AND CONFUSION that Bruce caused. Bruce needs to be fired if he hasnt already... 3 stars only bc the other employees and mgmt. actually attempted to help.

The two women (Tommie Torres and Jessica Amensen) I worked with the to plan the Visitation and Funeral were amazing. They were kind, patient and encouraging. There many tasks that had to be completed, and they kept me on track in a manner that was sensitive to my needs yet mindful of deadlines. The Visitation went very well and the funeral flowed seamlessly because they knew just what to do.

The Memorial Oaks Staff and Facilities were awesome and very Helpful. My family and friends were very impressed by just how smooth snd efficient the process was during our time of loss. The staff helped arrange and had ample contacts to make the process streamline. They were always available and very interested in helping in any way possible. We had services and dining provided and everything was great. I just can’t say how much gratitude we all had for their help since it was our first family burial. They made it as comfortable as possible, considering the circumstances. AAAA++++

My family has moved away and we have been away from my son's grave site for quite sometime. It is unfortunate to say the least that in and around the grave site has not been maintained. Stones and sites have been buried with built up mud. I wish I could get there more frequently but life seems to get in the way. The only thing I wish the management would take care of is really just getting the trash barrels lined so that trash isn't all over the place. It makes for, a very ugly appearance to the cemetery in general. An opened trash can does absolutely NO good, might as well not have one at all. Just my thoughts...

We recently lost our mother who passed at 95 yrs old. The staff did everything they could to personalize the service and ease our suffering. No surprises, up front about costs and welcoming as soon as you walk in the door.

These people have no regard for families in morning. We buried our infant son there two years ago. If I had known how we were going to be treated, I never would have chosen them. We had trouble with getting his grave marker placed. It took forever. Recently, they decided to do a yearly cleaning, which did not happen in years past. They took all the flowers and decorations that were on my son's grave away. No warning. No email. Just all gone. When I called them, they said that it's all piled in the back of their maintenance shed. All the gifts that we've given our baby. The special stone my father carved and painted when we lost our son. Just piled together with all the others poor mom's gifts. We are outraged! When I expressed our feelings, the lady sounded irritated that she had to explain we aren't suppose to put anything on the graves. This place is unbelievable. If we could move our son, we would. Please go somewhere else for your loved ones!

The worst place you could pick to have your loved one. They have no respect for you after they are finished with you. Take your money then treat you like dirt. Will throw your things away that are sitting on your marker. They don't give you any warning. The head of the funeral home will tell you certain things that you can put down then they come and remove it. If they would spend as much effort and time with mowing and making the cemetary look nice they would be better off. Also during the summer you can't even walk without being eaten up by ants the mounds are horrible and are taking over the markers and benches in some places. I recommend you do your research before you decide to place your loved one in this horrible place. I would recommend that they hire better people.

My grandparents are buried here in a corner lot. We've tried talking to management about issues with the lot It's been well almost 10 years now and still nothing has been done. The lot is growing with weeds and the center of the lot there is a growing patch of dirt. We've been nicely asking that something be done about the patch of dirt and the lot being infested with weeds. My grandfather paid good money and it's a shame a business would cheat the dead like this.

Zero compassion. Terrible Embalming. No Communications. Messed up slide show - had to stay up all night to assemble our own. Registered complaint but no returned calls. Did not deliver stationary. List goes on... Wish I could register a ZERO for how they treated our loved ones!
