We lost our 16 year old son to suicide on 5/14/19. We live in Greer, but the only reason we used Wood Mortuary was because of a recommendation from a family member. They went above and beyond to help lessen the blow of losing, not just a loved one, but our child. They were compassionate, professional, and easy to deal with. We had to come in several times for our own personal reasons during that difficult time, and each time we spoke to someone in the home, they were more than accommodating and willing to help any way they could. I highly recommend Wood Mortuary and want to publicly thank them for everything.

It was the saddest time of our life and the most hectic for me, when my father passed away. The Wood Mortuary helped my mother and I in so many ways. The staff was outstanding to work with. They walked us thru every step of the process when we arrived to our appointment. The flowers, the memorial, the video, contacting the church, the limo. All the details were taken care if for us. Blake was incredible to work with. A very caring man that helped us so much during our time of grief. Tee Got us thru the service and the graveside. He was wonderful to work with as well. My wife died at home of a heart attack. Woods was here very shortly after they were called. That began what I would call the Greatest Customer Service I've ever seen. First two staff members explained the simple process and took her to the mortuary. I talked with Mr . Jeff White and we set up a time for a family meeting. It took a couple of days to get the family here but Jeff called me every day with support and assurance. When we all set down Jeff explained the options for us. He went step by step and helped us make the necessary discissions. We had a very limited funds available and Jeff understood and showed us several ways to save. We were made to feel like Top End Clients. The service was wonderful and family and friends all said it was beautiful. The great thing was the ease and understanding treatment we received by everyone at Woods. I am going to sit down with Jeff to preplan my own service. But, for now I will jkeep a warm spot in my heart for the wonderful folks at Woods Mortuary. Tom Rorick .

Tom and Stan were wonderful in taking care of all the details for the funeral after my father passed away back in July. I couldn't be more pleased with them during this very difficult time. The only issues I encountered were with the Navy and their refusal to furnish the full military service that my dad not only earned through his 30 years of service to his country but also requested. Despite multiple attempts through the fine gentlemen at Woods and my attempts to get help through first the Navy in Jacksonville and Greenville, and then through Senator Tim Scott's office, I could not get any assistance. It is a shame that our veterans are not given the respect they have earned as we were told that due to current budget cuts, the Navy could not grant his request. Fred Brown

My mom passed away and literally less than 10 mins after she took her last breath, someone from the mortuary called and asked me if I wanted to embalm my mom and I told them yes (apparently) and then was charged $745 to embalm my mom who was cremated. I fell this is not the way that it should be handled (calling mins after your parent has passed and charging $745 for a service that was absolutely pointless and may I also add MUCH higher than most other mortuaries in the area. I talked to them when we made our appointment to set up cremation and they would not budge on the charge that was slipped on my when my mind was not able to process anything and then refused to even discount the charge. I feel like I was taken advantage of during a time of overwhelming grief and despair. I will not being doing any future with this business. ALSO, they asked about medical devices implanted in my mom's body and when I told them titanium screws and plates from a surgery to repair multiple fractures of her spine and -guess what??????- those screws and plates that were worth money to someone who would sell them, they were not in the ashes when return to me. Guess they also need to make a little extra money by outright stealing from my mom's body. I was not planning to sell them but rather had always been curious of what they looked like since a young child when she had them placed. These people are crooks. *******Response to your reply: By law you are as a consumer are to be provided with a price list for services, that was not presented to me before I was called and the person on the other end of the line ONLY asked me if I wanted my mom embalmed, that was it. I hate that businesses take advantage of people who have lost loved ones this way. I know you don't care, it's a business for you. You are in it for the money and don't care what you do to make that money. You did not answer to the fact that my mother's surgical plates were stolen from her body after cremation. What is your response to that? Maybe you can stop sending me a bill since you already stole those, that should cover the cost. I will NEVER EVER recommend this business to others. It hurts enough to lose you mom, but then to be robbed??

I appreciate all he has done. He helped me and my husband preplan our services and when my husband passed away every thing had been taken care of and I did not need to go and make decisions in haste.
