It’s taken me over a year and a half to be able to come here and write a review. The tragic loss of my husband and father to our 3 children - still haunts us to this day. Walking into Schisler dazed and confused, we were immediately greeted with respect and kindness from the entire staff. Aaron helped us every step of the way. He was professional, personable, sincere and caring. This made our lives much easier during this very difficult time. I can’t say enough good things about Aaron and the staff. They treated us like family. We wanted perfection and the best of everything for our loved one. Our every need was met with high expectations! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I can not stress enough not to use this company at any of it's locations. My fathers funeral was an embarrassment and debacle from start to finish. The first obituary had four important mistakes listed. His sister listed as a granddaughter, names misspelled, no religious affiliation or church membership, an no mention of his great grandsons. After calling and flipping out it was corrected but the Harold had the audacity to charge another $54 to have it rerun with corrections. The day of the funeral was calling for severe rain and Harold asked us if we wanted one or two canopies. He assured us that each canopy held 45 people. Well in torrential rain we had a canopy with four folding chairs that we had to request to have dried off and enough room for ten more people that still got their backs soaked. There were people at my Mothers house after the funeral actually removing their shoes and socks since they were so drenched. My poor Mother should not have to apologize for my Fathers funeral. When they brought out the glass case holding my fathers ashes they perched it on a pedestal is you want to call it that, and afterwards everyone said they held their breath that it would not fall over. It was some sort of thing draped with red cloth, not leveled and wobbly. They did not level off the ground. Once again embarrassing. Lastly Pennsylvania State Law requires a itemized bill be given before any services are done. My Mother was handed this bill in a tacky Schisler tote bag at the grave site. Classy??? As I said before if you want to honor your loved one do not use this facility. No apologies were ever given and Harold Schisler is the king of pointing the finger at anyone that himself. The newspaper, the cemetery etc. Is it not his job to make sure all this is correct???? The only reason I gave one star is at least my Father is buried. Rest in Peace Dad. We did the best we could to honor you, but chose the wrong funeral home. Karol Keeney

My mother’s funeral run by Aaron and the rest of the funeral home’s staff was quite beautiful. They went out of their way to make sure everything we asked for was met. They went above and beyond during our planning period and had all the answers to our many questions. We had plenty of options when choosing our service plan, and it really honored my mother. Even after the service when we met to go over extra paper work they were very caring and I would definitely suggest Schisler funeral home to anyone looking to honor their past loved ones.

My husbands father pre planned his funeral with this establishment about 20 years ago, & when he recently passed away, these folks went into action & took control of a very emotional situation & did an excellent job. Their compassion for the family is so heartfelt. They are patient, kind & their attention to detail is more than expected. They don't rush you thru any of the procedures , & are more than patient with all our questions & needs. We would highly recommend them. A special thank you to Anthony Richter, he was so kind, gentle & knowledgable, & even made us all laugh during a difficult week! Thank you Anthony & the Schisler Family ~

Well I did not have a good experience with this funeral home. They told my husband that they could make him look better. My husband was very sick, and had lost a lot of weight. He did not want to have people remember him that way. So he wanted to have a closed casket. The funeral home told him that they could try to make him look better if he gave them a picture. The initial viewing the day before the actual viewing it didn't look like they did anyting. His hair was all slicked back nothing what the picture look like, he was not shaved, and they colored his mustache it looked like it was red. My husband was blond and his mustache didn't look anything like it ever had ever. Then after all the services, they were supposed to have the pictures from the viewing at the wake along with the flowers and they were just coming to the hall as we were getting ready to leave. And we had to call them in order for them to bring the stuff back. I was not happy at all. My husband would of been extremely upset about it. It will definitely be a funeral I won't forget.
