Wow. These people are shocking. My father just died and they tried to take me for $1600 bucks. It would have been so much more if they could have swindled it. Now that we caught them in the act, they're dragging their feet to process the death certificate. I absolutely can't believe I have to worry about being ripped off when I have to deal with a death. You should be ashamed.

Think before you buy any pre-arranged packages from Lane Memorial Gardens. My parents had purchased a package and when it came time to bury my mother, all we heard was how prices had gone up and they would have to eat some of the cost differences. I thought this is why you buy a package, they have your money to invest and accrue. All of a sudden there are several changes, we were not allowed to have concrete around the headstone, it now had to be granite. The headstone had to be selected from a special book, not the customary book. (They also knew nothing about the product in the book we had to select from) After signing off on the template they approved for the headstone, (over a month ago) we received a call saying that the edging agreed upon, would not be covered under the plan, we could either select a smaller size headstone, or change the edging. Please be aware, we still paid out of pocket. Their granite is not cheap, along with many items they did not cover. My parents thought they had made all of the necessary arrangements when they purchased this package. Bring your credit card, you are not done paying yet.

My grandma was the best grandma ever. She always had lots of gold and silver and diamonds . The last time I ever visited I remember the conversation. "Do we have to visit Grandma now?" It was hard work and I was sweating and my mom was pissed off at my questions said, "shut up and keep digging."
