Hello, my name is Calys Jimenez and I am 17 years old. I have been to many wonderful funeral services in my hometown of Lubbock, Texas after the loss of dear loved ones. Today, I attended a funeral for my aunt's fiance and let me say that we were enveloped in love by family and friends. HOWEVER, the funeral director, Sherry, and her staff were the most insensitive and careless people I have ever seen in my entire life. On top of this being a hard day for my aunt, this business was so concerned with getting paid today that they took my aunt, my father who is the insurance agent, their bosses, and many friends out of the funeral to "settle" this matter. In the process, Sherry disrespectfully told many to "shut up" before she "called the police" while having no justification or means to do so. She then denied a hand shake, called a woman "missy," and refused to give us the number to home office and told us we could "find it ourself." The staff failed to control the enviroment during the time to enter and exit the funeral. They failed to present a smile on this rough day. They did not respect the situation, our lost loved one, our family or their title of "Chapel of Hope." I feel as though this title is not and never will be appropriate. I hope to hear from management, preferably Mr. Michael Soper, soon. From Deborah: I couldn't have said this any better myself and I will add when I called to ask for Mr. Soper's email address or phone number Sherry told me that I could look it up in the phone book myself. I would NEVER recommend this funeral home. Honestly, I do not care to hear from Sherry's supervisor, Mr. Bill Valli because he believes everything she feeds him even when it is not the truth. My sister in law, the one that lost her husband was in the office and can verify that Sherry was rude, unprofessional, and "willing to lock the doors" because there would be no funeral since the money was not in her hand!!

VERY disappointed with their staff!! Just finished a funeral of a very loved family member through Chapel of Hope and the experience was truly heart breaking. The staff is extremely rude & selfish trying to kick family and friends out of viewing area all because they "would like to go home." And mentioning to us that "we can always go back in the morning & see our family member for an hour." Having no sympathy whatsoever. Constant nagging by all of the staff never letting family mourn the death of a loved one. They are always wanting to rush things including the actual service at our church when there was no need for a rush. Definitely DO NOT recommend this funeral home especially for extremely large families who love sticking around one another in their time of need to talk, laugh, & remember the good memories in eachother's company! There are other funeral homes in Hobbs, NM far better & equipped with better staff that will make you feel "at home" in your time of need!

We received excellent service from Chapel of Hope when our mother passed. It was, of course, a very difficult time and they took care of all the details while we tended to the bigger things like relationships and emotions. They were a channel of God's love to us and we will always be grateful for their involvement in our process.

First thing I was told after “Hello” was if we didn’t have insurance then they couldn’t go any further. My husband had insurance. I worked with one of the lady’s friend and she told her how my husband died and I didn’t even know how my husband died until 3 months later when I received his autopsy report and the lady I worked with was telling everyone I worked with about it!!!! (Mind you, I worked for the prison and even inmates hear this!!!) Of course I confronted both old hags (the one from the funeral home and the walking dead that I worked with.) Of course the old hag at the funeral home denied it but she was trying to save her a**. Even spoke to the GM or whoever he was and he didn’t seem to care that his staff violated HIPPA by discussing my husband’s death with a third party, just because they were friends. I will never do business with Chapel of hope again!!!!

Chapel of Hope has trended to at least 6 family members and several friends in a most difficult time. We were always treated with respect. They definitely eased the business part of the services and that allowed us to move forward and begin the healing.
