My sister Lynn and I had discussed in the past week what arrangements we wanted for our brother Jim Andrews. She being in Gorham went to Bryant’s to finalize the plans. She was immediately talked out of what we wanted. We did not want a public viewing. It was suppose to be on Wednesday morning for family and a select few friends. Then the funeral that afternoon. Ed informed her she needed to do otherwise due to the influx of calls regarding the arrangements. With public posts on social media, she was guilted to change our plans. During this time with Ed, my travel situation was not given a second thought. When I was informed of all the changes Ed wanted to do I called Ed within the hour, to explain my situation. He told me basically it’s too late to change anything. This is not good customer service. My brother and mom and dad would be highly upset knowing that it was no big deal I wouldn’t be able to attend. Funeral homes are a business. Period. It’s about pomp and circumstance and money. So while my brother is being rememberd I’m forced to stay in NC. I was not given the travel time I needed to attend. Thanks for all your help. I really appreciate it Sheila Andrews Swaney
