My experience with the Good Shepherd Furneral Home in one word "horrific. I entrusted them to handle my mother's furneral and it turned out to be a nightmare. First of all, it took them 6 days to get my mother's death certificate signed and when I called them to see what the hold up was, I was told by a staff member that I would have to call the doctor that was responsible for signing off this document myself, because they had already done their part. As it turned out, they hadn't sent over the document for signing to began with. However what really got me angery, was when the Good Shepherd called me minutes before they were supposed to be in place to tell me that the cemetery I selected stated to them that I had canceled the vault which is required for burial. This was true, but I had canceled the vault from the cemetery because I had purchased one from the Good Shepherd Furneral Home. When I confronted the owner with this, he initially denied that I had purchase a vault, but finally looked at my contract and realized that I had, but the vault hadn't been ordered by his people. To make matters right, they had to purchase a vault from the cemetery I had selected for about $100 less than what I had paid the Good Shepherd Furneral Home, so basically they made a quick $100 profit off of me for doing absolutely nothing. The owner of the Good Shepherd Furneral Home never excepted responsible or apologized for this fiasco, but rather deflected blame to his employees. Please don't waste your time and energy on the Good Shepherd Furneral Home, because you'll only be disappointed.
