I have never felt so cared about like we did with the services by Paul and the rest of the staff. The facility was amazing and the long hours and dedication to make this a little less painful while planning the celebration of life for my mother in law. I highly recommend Colonial Chapel to anyone. They also have reasonable prices. Thank you so much

When an unexpected tragic death happens to a loved one in your family your emotions are all over the place. I am taking the time out to write this review in hopes that my thoughts regarding this funeral home will comfort someone else. First of all i cannot express how important it is to have a life insurance policy in place. I took on the responsibility of burying and making arrangements for my baby cousin who had a sudden tragic death. I did this because i imagined and knew that it was my job to ease the pain of her parents, especially her mother because she is like a sister to me. I chose and did everything I would think that someone would do for me in a time like this. My baby cousin was out of state and her body needed to be here. The first funeral home that we checked into would not make any arrangements until we had 50% down. Again, we had no insurance and a funeral ranges from $10,000 to $15,000. This means we would have needed at least $5,000 down the first day we met and the rest of the expenses would have needed to be paid before the funeral. There were no other options. We then met with Colonial Chapel. Scott took care of arranging her body to be flown in and did his very best as to making sure that he stayed in contact with us and our needs. He offered a financing service option online that we could use. When all else failed financially I still never let go of faith. Everything that my cousin picked out for her child from the casket to the cemetery we made that happen. This was and still is a delicate situation but if we did not choose Colonial Chapel then she would not have had the beautiful service and amazing customer service that we had for her. I appreciate Scott, Cindy and Twilla more than they know. The way this funeral home comforted my family and went out of their way to make sure everything was done right for us says it all. I hope and pray that I never have to experience this sort of situation again but I will always tell others how GREAT Colonial Chapel was and I would recommend them to anyone!!! Thank you again!!!

The amazing thing is that not only are they very professional but they also add a personal touch that is very comforting during a stressful and heartbreaking time. Every aspect of our experience was exceptional and that made a tough time easier to endure. And thanks for the Doritos at the reception; how sweet!

We didn't need much, we chose cremation. However, the care to each request, each showing of my family member, they truly showed respectful and caring yo me and my family. I highly recommend them and when my family needs their services again I know they will take care of us.

Terrible customer service! My family and i decided to use this funeral home for my child. My daughter, the baby of our family died 8/20/19 and her body was flown here! I had so many questions about her arrival and possibilities for her service. We worked hands on with Scott and unfortunately he decided not to return my calls. Being such a delicate situation and life changing death it was very hurtful! When someone looses there loved one let alone their own child i expected to be treated with respect! This funeral home and staff experience showed they are far from caring! Please do research before a choosing a funeral home and staff when it comes to final arraignments to your loved one! This was a terrible experience for me and the closure i needed for my baby girl! Unfortunately who funded a funeral doesn't have anything to do with the closure of a loved one! This funeral home is all about money and sympathy and care is not a priority to them. Everyone involved matters for future reference...especially the parents of a child!

We as a family were amazed at the personal, compassionate, professional care we received at Colonial Chapel. There is not one thing we would change. The facility is beautiful and roomy, allowing for easy movement, and comfort. The video they produced was nothing short of phenomenal. Because of the time crunch, we handed them a sack of pictures, with the song titles scribbled on a napkin. The video was done beautifully in a few hours. Paul worked with the news paper because the time was so short. He began all the paperwork, and made initial contacts. We felt no pressure at all concerning the financial aspect. We felt they were quite reasonable. I was concerned about the flowers. Paul kindly took a picture of each arrangement, with the senders information. That was so helpful for sending thank you notes. They continued to be available to answer questions, and provide all the support needed, long after the service. I would recommend them without any hesitation. Gayla Bahm

Our experience was excellent. I can't say enough good things about Paul and how we were treated. We experienced a passing on a Thursday morning and they were able to meet with us and make all arrangements for a Saturday afternoon funeral. Not only did they make the experience easy and painless, we felt the price was great on top of it. There was no pressure to upgrade on anything and he was open and honest about what the prices would be. In the end they took care of all the life insurance paperwork and the insurance company paid them directly. We were stressed about creating a video slideshow for the funeral and they told us they would take care of everything. All we had to do was provide the pictures (digital or paper) and a few songs and they would take care of the rest. It turned out excellent and way better than we could have done on such short notice, it was a huge burden taken off our plate. Would highly recommend to anyone.

The staff at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home were amazing, compassionate, and so professional. My fiance suddenly passed away and was only 48 years old. I was so devastated that I cannot tell you much of what I did for the next week and a half. My memory has blocked that out except for a few small vivid details about certain times. One of those time that are so vivid to me is picking up his ashes. I couldn't even walk and they help me get inside the building and went through the whole process with me making sure I understood how this type of situation works. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff at this funeral home. I moved back to my home state in Virginia shortly after losing my fiance but I would highly recommend Colonial Chapel Funeral Home to anyone near their location. I can not tell you how above and beyond amazing Paul at Colonial Chapel was in helping us with my mother's memorial service. She had preplanned with the previous owner of this funeral home and I was not impressed. Did not know what to expect with the new owners ( Paul purchased the chapel over two years ago) AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING is all I have to say. Paul and Katie planned the entire event with amazing ideas. The service was perfect. Paul actually made it fun. He was there for our every need and had the most creative wonderful ideas. His video talents are incredible. Everyone asked who made our video for the service - it was Paul - I tell you , he is amazing!!!! The previous owners were all about sell, sell, sell items we did not need. There was no sales pressure with Paul. We really felt he was there for us. I don't have enough positive things to say about this funeral home and Paul the funeral director! Thank you, so very much!!!

The staff (Christian and Cindy) are truly one of a kind at Colonial Chapel. After suddenly losing a family member we were all at a loss, and didn’t know where to begin or what to do. Christian and Cindy went above and beyond their duties to make sure everything was taken care of for us. They guided us through the entire process and was very patient and compassionate as we told stories and shared memories of our beloved throughout the planning. Their attention to detail was phenomenal, remembering every family members name and story, making sure every ‘I’ was dotted and ‘t’ was crossed before submitting anything. The funeral home is warm and welcoming as soon as you walk in. Very clean and the chapel has a stunning waterfall wall that was the perfect touch to our service. Their attention to detail continued with playing the music of our choice in the lobby and chapel before and after the service and allowing us to personalize their funeral home to exactly what we believed our beloved would have loved to display and use to celebrate her. Christian created a video montage of pictures to play during the service that was unbelievably perfect! His attention to detail with the grouping of pictures during our chosen songs was simply amazing and truly showed that he cared and wanted everything perfect. Christian and Cindy were very professional, responding to all our questions quickly and accommodating all our requests without hesitation. As guest begun to arrive for the service Cindy was quick to lovingly welcome everyone into the funeral home, and guide guests to the display table, guest book and into the chapel. She paid attention to guests and personalized their time making everyone feel welcome and loved. As difficult of a time it is to say goodbye to a loved one, please consider Colonial Chapel as your funeral home, they will make it hurt a little less and take the stress of planning off your shoulders. I would highly recommend to any family, they are all one of a kind.
