Had my mother's service and had her cremated through their service and it was fine. The people were very nice the day of planning and the day of the service, though I'm incredibly disappointed that my mother's funeral guestbook states she lived 1960-2019. She was born in 1969. I won't even get into the fact that during the first half of the service they called her "Jenna". Her name was Gina. Receiving the death certificate was also a bit of an ordeal, when I reached out they called and then didn't leave a message and when I called back was transferred twice to who I was supposed to be talking to and I wouldn't call them polite - after I was transferred and tried to explain my situation the woman said "I'm sorry WHO are you?" The person who I was supposed to be talking to however, Heidi, was nothing but professional and I am grateful for that. When it did arrive, Cory called me at 2pm on a Friday and gave me the option of either picking it up or having it mailed out. I said I'd like to pick it up and he got a little huffy and told me they "wouldn't be there much longer", I said fine mail it out, five days later it still hasn't arrived and though I get there was a holiday this weekend, if it had been mailed on Friday it should be here by now. Overall it was fine, but that's pretty much it. We used this place by default because a family member had had a good experience, but I honestly would not recommend it.
Update, ten days later the death certificate still has not arrived. Apparently Cory has it marked down that he sent it and read the address back to me, however, it is nowhere to be found. Called the post office and they don't have it either. We attempted to call Kessler and Maguire three times today, a Monday, between 2 and 3pm. Nobody answered the phone, so we just dropped by. Of course there were people there. This woman honestly had the audacity to tell me, after screaming from the other room "WHEN DID SHE DIE???", well sometimes he doesn't put enough postage on it so maybe that's what's slowing it down. I'm sorry, what did we pay $2000 for? So dude can't put enough freaking stamps on a DEATH CERTIFICATE? This funeral home is an absolute joke and I am appalled by the service. If you care at all about your loved one do not use this funeral home. I am 24 years old and my mother died suddenly and horribly at 49. They have done nothing but make this process more difficult and I am completely disgusted.
