If I could give 0 Stars I would. We recently had a family member buried here and the ball was dropped low on so many occasions that I honestly don’t know where to begin. To start, when we first went to the funeral home to get everything prepared we were met by a guy named Dantae who is “supposedly” one of the funeral homes best directors. When we first met with him he did not introduce himself at all and just began to start talking about pricing and caskets that we could buy for 4-5x the price of what they were truly worth(smart tip: go to Costco if you want a QUALITY and AFFORDABLE casket rather than overpaying for one through them. We paid 1k for a casket that similarly would have cost 5-7k from them) he never once even said “sorry for your loss”. Throughout our entire experience we had to always find Dante to get the answers for things that should have been mentioned by him from beginning and he would also tell us false information. For example, we were quoted around $300 extra for the drive it would take to get to our cemetery of choice, but when we received the bill we were actually charged $600 because it apparent “per vehicle” something that had not initially been stated to us. We also had requested that they not cut the mustache off the deceased but when it came to preview the body they had cut it off anyways even though we had stated it MULTIPLE times beforehand and they also cut it uneven. There remedy to fix the problem was to add hair from the back of his head which didn’t look the same at all but it had to do. At the beginning of service there was absolutely no music playing upon arrival of the guest and to make matters worse the staff were not even at the door to greet the guest as they walked in as any normal funeral home would but instead decided to sit on the computer and to continue on with their day. Then when we asked “where is the music?” we were told it would start at exactly 11:00 (the scheduled time for the funeral) but when 11:00 came we were all still just sitting in silence and were then told that there was a problem with the audio...something that should have been checked WELL in advance. Continuing on into the service, the person who was hired by the funeral home to conduct the funeral messed up the names of the entire family while reading the obituary which was only another embarrassment and testament to how much pride they put into getting these funerals correct.
When we finally had the chance to speak with Kimberly (one of the owners) and relayed to her the horrible experience we had she was quick to come to defense and say that this was the first time in 60 years that they had ever had a problem (which I know for a fact to be a lie) as if we were exaggerating or lying and after spending over 3k for a funeral, her remedy for all of the mishaps (yes there were actually more, these were only the main points) was a $185 refund!?
I usually don’t post reviews, but the experience we had dealing with this place was beyond horrible and I would never recommend it to ANYONE who actually cares about the details that goes into a funeral. Their premises is also beyond ancient and you can tell that they don’t put ANY money into their business via the delapadated ceilings, carpentry and antique furniture that hasn’t been replaced or updated since the place opened in the mid 20th century.
As stated earlier, I would give 0 stars if I could.
