When my dad passed away in May, in addition to being heartbroken, my siblings and I were at a loss as to how to proceed with arrangements. After calling Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, we immediately knew we were in good hands. The funeral director, Jeff Bell, helped us through every detail. Jeff was so kind and patient with us. I’m sure that was not an easy task as he helped the seven of us to agree on so many details. Every staff member we came in contact with was caring and attentive to our every need. They made us feel that our dad was the most important person in the world. From the time they received my dad, until we left the cemetery, Jeff Bell and his staff made sure everything went smoothly. My grandfather passed away in November, and we chose Schrader-Howell for his funeral services. This company and all of its staff are incredible, respectful, compassionate, just hands down amazing. They had a ton of little touches that really made a huge difference, especially for my grieving parents during the difficult process. The bag they used to remove my grandfather from his house to take to the morgue looked like a homemade quilt, so it was a nice touch that didn't get the attention of the neighborhood when they removed his body. The facility is a beautiful building with a home-like feel and plenty of parking. They had a nice private area for my family where we could store food to eat during our viewing. They helped my mom get in touch with the American Legion, who performed a beautiful ceremony with a 21 gun salute at the funeral home to honor my grandpa, who was a WWII vet. They did a wonderful job staging the flowers and helping my mom to organize the viewing and rosary. I do not have the words to express my appreciation and gratitude to them for the wonderful customer service and deep respect they had for my grandfather and my family. I highly recommend this funeral home, and know we will use it again in the (hopefully distant) future. A million thanks from the Banka Family of Canton, MI.

From start to finish, this funeral home was amazing! Located in gorgeous downtown Plymouth, this funeral home is beautiful, well maintained and feels very clean and comfortable as soon as you walk in. Everyone here is truly caring; everytime we called or came in, even weeks after the service, they took their time and answered every question with the best customer service, no matter their role. We could talk with Jeff for hours; you could tell he loves what he does which goes a long way! The staff, Jeff, and the owner seemeded naturally compassionate and thankful that we chose to work with them. They accommodated us with every wish we had, from allowing us to come help dress my grandma in her Indian saree to bringing her home for the viewing, to taking their shoes off when coming into our home per tradition! Schrader-Howell offered honest guidance and were forthcoming with helpful information, making sure she was the priority and respected like she was their own family; we felt the focus was the service and grandma, not the business side of things. Their pricing was beyond reasonable and simple from the start. They made this difficult time as easy and comfortable as possible. After calling 10-15 funeral homes, we were even more appreciative; some lacked care, making it feel more like a transaction, some tacked on inflated fees for everything, some wouldn’t accommodate certain requests or if they did, it was unrealistic (bringing her home for only ten minutes), and so on. We were starting to compromise our wishes, until we called Schrader-Howell and realized we can easily have it all. It’s obvious why this home has been around so long; they show you why they’re the best, creating ambassadors without even trying to and earning referrals and returning business. Jeff was very helpful in making the arrangements for my husband’s father’s ashes to be interned at The Great Lakes National Cemetery. The military ceremony was beautiful. Highly recommend Schrader Funeral Home in Plymouth, MI.
