We met with John OBrein while making pre-arrangements for my mother-in-law. We had just left a different funeral home, saddened by their lack of willingness to help us. With that home they would not assist us with arrangements where she would be cremated here in Michigan and her cremains would be buried in New York. Aside form the lack of help, they were very business like, expensive and there was a lack of compassion. So, when we left there I said to my husband-Lets go to OBrein (I had recently been to a funeral there). We drove up with out an appointment, as we approached the door was held open by John, and what an experience! We were brought into a conference room where not only were all our questions answered, he went above and beyond- and I mean waaaay beyond, in helping with the NY arrangements, AND the price was lower. After mom passed we met with John Copely, and I was thinking, oh boy, no way he is going to be as considerate and helpful as John O, but I was wrong. He TOO went above and waaaaaay beyond to help with the NY plans (Let me remind you the other home was like we cremate her heres the price and good luck with all the out-of-state stuff). He spent a lot of time helping us have this very old tombstone in the Bronx etched, it was a long and tedious project. We would have had no idea all the different things you need to know about marble stone and the finishes, we would have been lost. Instead our process was met with empathy and compassion, and their efficiency was amazing. They were professional yet gentle. When mom passed, we were there when they came to pick her up and that too was handled very kindly. OBrein-Sullivan handled everything from A to Z, amazingly. Mom will be brought to her resting place this spring. and still BOTH John's have offered us further assistance with the NY stuff if need be. We were blessed to have met them for sure you too will be in good hands!
