O.H Pye, III Funeral Home did an outstanding job servicing my cousin/big brother recently. From the planning to the burial, they were professional and compassionate. My cousin was involved in a serious accident and the family was prepared to have a close casket funeral. However, the funeral director told us to give them a chance and a picture of my cousin, which we did. When I say Pye recreated his look, they did THAT!!! If you need a funeral home in the Detroit area to take care of your love one, this is the place. I highly recommend O.H Pye, III Funeral Home.

Our family is very upset and dissatisfied with O.H. Pye. First, they prompted my father-in-law to get and pay for an unneeded embalming for my mother-in-law when we were clear that my mother-in-law was to be cremated without delay, in accordance with her clear expressed wishes. Second and most seriously, it has now been over three weeks since my mother-in-law's body was transferred to O.H. Pye, payment was rendered and documents were signed, and they have still not completed the death certificate or the cremation of my mother-in-law! It is unclear how much of the delay is incompetence, versus a lack of diligence or a lack of caring. Our services were simple and on the low end of the price list, so perhaps my poor mother-in-law is simply a low-low priority. I would advise anyone with funeral services needs to steer away from this outfit.

I attended my cousin's funeral today and made the mistake of going to the restroom when I had encountered the most disrespectful staff ever! While I was in the bathroom I heard the staff members at the "welcome desk" call me names and continously ridicule me in a extremely loud manner and all this is going on while Im at a funeral!! I was extremely uncomfortable as my family members were walking by and most likely hearing the staff members' loudly ridicule me and call me names. I immediately informed the funeral director of the staff's rude, disrespectful, unprofessional behavior at the end of the funeral and informed him that their staff's behavior is a respresentation of their business.My cousin's funeral was a beautiful sendoff but the staff made it terribly uncomfortable!

SMH.... I very disappointed with the services provided.... My family has used O.H Pye III Funeral Home many times but this time not such a good experience! The staff dropped the ball in a couple areas.... and the makeup team needs to be FIRED!!! He had My Mother looking like a 2$ hooker... and Totally Unrecognizable, until I had to persistently Insist that it be changed.... wanted to make some changes but nobody knew anything, nobody knew how to assist or accommodate me.... I don't think I'll ever use there services again!

The staff was very professional, BUT the mortician that did my aunt did a horrible job, at the time of my aunts passing she was COMPLETELY EMACIATED, my cousin told him that she would be fine with a closed casket but he told her that he would be able to restore her to her former self before her illness just give him time which we did, he had seven days to work on her.......... Upon walking into the viewing room to see her there were multiple things I noticed wrong as a mortician in training who is being trained by some of the TOP morticians in Atlanta, 1 Her face was very dry, 2, He did not stuff her clothes to give the appearance of them hanging not sinking and to make it look like she had weight on her, her clothes looked like they were on a wire hanger, 3, I told him politely the things that he could fix to make her look better and he told us that everything would be fixed for her service that Tuesday morning, 4, The next morning I arrived to the church early to do my "Inspection" of her ,NOTHING he agreed to fix was fixed, in fact she was actually worse the tissue builder in her face actually wore off and her face was sunken in as it was when she initially died and her face was still dry and her clothes were almost completely sunken in on her body..............

Pye Funeral Home help me with my dad and did an excellent job explaining the cost and services. Although this was a pre planned funeral 5 years prior to his death on July 11, 2014; Mr. Hodge had all the documents and funeral arragments that we made 5 years ago. One item is a plus is the car service they provided to furneral home and taken home after the services. Keep up the good work Stan Neal

Avoid this funeral home at all costs. I have paid all the costs for daughter funeral and they still have not gotten me her ashes. Its been over a month and they said they would call when the ashes come in . When I have called and inquired they lady has been rude and short tempered. They are so inconsiderate, I need closure and all they do is cause me further pain. So sad they would treat a grieving parent like this.

Pye would of received five stars if they had done everything that I asked and expected. I wanted everything to be white and gold because those were my mothers favorite colors. The carnations they showed me in the book were red but they assured me that they could do white carnations. I was fine with that but I was shocked to arrive at her funeral on October 19, 2019, with bright RED carnations on her casket. The young woman who helped us make the arrangements (Erica Fossett) on October 13, 2019, informed us that the online obituary would show up on their site two days from the day we made the arrangements however that was not the case. The obituary didn't show up until after they received their money, that Friday on October 18, 2019 which was also the viewing day. So the two day thing wasn't a true statement. Overall, they did a good job in terms of how she looked. But when I went to touch her hand, her arm dropped down. Not sure why that happened however I never experienced anything like that.

Very unprofessional and very disappointing. Lamar Matthews doesn't know what he is doing. Me and my sisters met with him to plan service for our father. He gave us wrong information and doesn't return phone calls. This added to the stress of a already sad occasion. OH Pye is interested in the quantity and not quality. I would not refer them to anyone.

The Rudest staff I've encountered dealing with consumers. Anthony and Kenny was rude and insensitive to a mourning family...I was hung-up on then put on hold for 15 minutes, every question I asked nobody knew the answer to it. I've never been treated so bad. Pye wasn't my first choice and I wish I could move my love one to Peace Chapel. Thanks Pye Funeral Home for making this difficult time most memorable.....Very Disappointed...
