This place is beyond disrespectful, and highly unethical. My grandmother died on October 15th, 2018 and she was sent here for cremation.
I was the closest person to my grandmother in my family, and despite calling over ten times they refuse to tell me if my grandma's ashes have been picked up.
They will not answer a simple yes or no question, their conduct is simply horrid. I am her family member, I have a right to know if the ashes have been picked up.
After calling the Cheboygan office several times in October, and then several times in November, and then several more times in December, and finally again in January I decided to call the Indian River office.
The Indian River location told me that they are not allowed to withhold remains in favor of incurring payment.
And yet they still refused to tell me if my grandma's ashes have been collected.
As a result, I recommend anyone that cares about ethics to go elsewhere. I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission regarding improper funeral conduct.
You can rest assured, that I intend to find out if my grandma's ashes have been picked up. It is a simple yes or no question, if they cared about my personal loss they would answer it.
I am not the next of kin, but I am her grandson, and as I said, the closest to her at the time of time.
I deserve an answer.
