I can assure you we have never burdened a family by requesting payment from them as they are leaving a service for their loved one. Payment arrangements are made prior to the service even taking place. Our commitment is to our families. Every family we serve is sent a customer satisfaction survey. Our scores are consistently in the top 10 to 15 percent across the nation of funeral homes using JD Powers. We continue to rank this high by providing service beyond expectation. The review on this page was from someone who never used our funeral home. Our community also knows we provide many services at no cost for homeless veterans, police or firefighters killed in the line of duty and indigent people. We have never charged for a infants funeral. They are always provided at no cost to the grieving parents. We were also voted business of the year last year for our involvement in the community by the Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce. We have been in business for over 60 years and our staff is dedicated to the families we continue to serve in the Lakes and Huron Valley area.

We were still in shock, and Bill really took the time to walk us through setting up arrangements for my dad’s cremation. Our family is so grateful for the kindness we received.

I have unfortunately been to many funerals as well as organized them and never in my experience have I been so disrepected by the staff as I was at Elton Black in White Lake. After the sudden passing of my dear relative we were all thrown into a very stressful situation. I admit I was upset but that is no excuse to be treated in a disrespectful way by the staff. Everyone deserves to be treated with repect and dignity. My poor Mother who lost a son was trying to say goodbye to people that had traveled far in a snow storm and was told that the staff wanted to get home. Really??!! They announced that after the service to go directly to your cars. I was shocked and surprised by this. I had never heard of staff at funeral home giving you the bums rush. Never will I ever use or recommend these heartless people to anyone I know. Beware.

Elton Black was very professional and caring in our time of bereavement. They were very helpful in working with the National Cemetary in Holly and for the other details of the funeral and viewing. Anna Buresh was the ultimate in professional, very easy to work with and caring in our grief. She went above and beyond to ensure we were not troubled with details or challenges. Two opportunities for improvement are 1) the obit in newspaper did not seem to get posted in paper quickly, and was double what we were quoted; and 2) the attendant for the viewing (not Anna) was less than helpful and left early. Despite these two items, the overall experience was positive.

Our experience with Elton Black Funeral home was wonderful. We were fortunate to have had Drew Kasprzyk handle the arrangements for my Mom's funeral February 2, 2017. He was not only extremely professional and knowledgeable, but personable, caring and comforting to our family and friends. All of the details (which we all dreaded) were simplified because Drew went above and beyond in assisting, advising, and being flexible with our lack of experience and ever changing plans. The obituary was so heartfelt and beautiful and well written. He never made us feel pressured or uncomfortable, but instead assured us that being confused and indecisive was normal. Needless to say, he deserves the accolades for making our experience an unforgettable one on so many levels. Our Family and Friends couldn't say enough about what a wonderful celebration it was and how pleased my Mom would have been. Thank you, Drew for everything.
