Amazing is the only word I can use to describe Betzlers. My son died out of town. One phone call was all it took to help us get to see our son in the town he lived in, and then get him home. Scott and his staff took care of every detail. Craig served fantastic food, and my beverage was never empty as I visited with friends and family.They helped us celebrate our sons entire life, and honor his memory as we thought he would have wanted. A couple hours of sharing memories resulted in an unbelievably accurate, loving Lifestory.The entire staff gave us such support, both physical and emotional. Scott is very community oriented too. He donated his parking lot for National Night Out without hesitation.

I used the service they offer for ones pet.. "Life Tails" If you, or someone you know, is considering cremation for their beloved pet, this is a great option for you/them. For me, my pet was the "child" in my world. I used their service for many reason. One of them was for the fact that you will have your pets ashes back within a days time, when others can take a 2-4 weeks time for your pets ashes to be returned. I am not sure about the weekend days, though. May take an additional day, I don't know. Regardless, 1-2 days vs 2-4 weeks, the choice is easy. All in all, If you are an avid pet lover and you want your pet to be treated with the respect and dignity they deserve, Betzler's is a HUGE recommendation! Thank You for offering a Great service to the Local, and surrounding area, pet owner community! I am VERY pleased with the care you gave to my mini Dachshund, Gretchen!! aka: Moose Moose!

While death isn't a comfortable topic, Betzler navigated the tough conversations and decisions compassionately and ultimately to what our family decided what was best for us. Betzler went above and beyond to make the program ultimately include all the songs and details we needed to have in a manner that was professional and celebratory. The Betzler Life Story Funeral Home staff is amazing. The entire staff went above and beyond to make our entire (large) family at ease. Scott handled services in another state as well as here in Michigan. He handled every detail with extreme patience, and made sure everything was perfect!. Sue handles all the phone calls and makes sure the family is up to date every step of the way! Scott and staff were very genuine and had the ability to make the most difficult circumstance be the most amazing experience that our family will forever be grateful for. Scott was able to portray our father as if he had known him for years with only a a gathering of information from a short conversation and it was very comforting. Scott was amazing at focusing on details of my dads life, his legacy, impact on our family, and helped streamline the process for us. We were so grateful that Scott was open to having our Hindu priest come and perform all the necessary Hindu death rituals to give my dad a good send off. When my dad passed away unexpectedly, my family was in shock and overwhelmed with grief, and not even sure how to go about orchestrating the many details of the visitation, funeral service, burial etc. Our closest family friend recommended Betzler Life Story to us after the recent experience she had with them doing a service for a loved one. I honestly just wanted to get through the services because I was so distracted by pain, but Scott Betzler went above and beyond with how he cared for the arrangements for my daddy. He sat with us as we recalled the great memories of my dad's life and our favorite parts of his character and he paid attention to every detail which was revealed later, as the visitation and website story portrayed in better words than I could have articulated, the man that has been my hero all my life. When we arrived at dad's visitation to see such a display and array of food preparation so particular to dad's favorite things...it turned into a true celebration of dad and his friends and family gathered for hours, no one wanting to leave. The video and slides of dad's life playing to beautiful music brought friends from different times of dad's life into conversations with each other about who he was. As his daughter, I got to observe my dad's impact in the lives around Betzler during the visitation and it brought such pride and warmth at a time I thought nothing could help ease the sadness. The reason I put so much effort into this review, and so close to the actual experience, is because it really impacted me, the level of compassion and service that Scott Betzler has shown in going above and beyond with his job. It is more of a ministry than a career because he made us feel so appreciative even during the hardest days of my life thus far. My sister said it best, Scott felt like family during this whole experience. There was no impatience or rushing when us siblings got long-winded on our trips down memory lane, or with the editing and re-editing of obituary details. I can't thank Betzler Life Story enough for helping my mom deal with details she has never considered before, such as memorializing dad through media, headstone details, thank you cards, and so much more. If you are looking to experience true celebration and remembrance of a loved one, they will care for you as though you were their only focus. Thank you again Scott

I can not find words to express how wonderful of a job Betzler Funeral home did with my Father's viewing, home going service and Full Military Honor graveside service. During the most difficult time in my life, from the moment I walked in the door and was greeted by Hollie the therapy dog and Scott's warm smile I knew that I was in great hands with people who truly cared. I was prepared with a box of Kleenex as I was sure I would need the whole thing. Scott and his staff made the entire process more comforting than I could ever imagine. From listening to my countless stories of my Dad and assisting with wording of his lifestory, to helping me pick the perfect items to honor him and meet his wishes. My Father was a United States Marine and was extremely meticulous (which he passed on to me.) There is not one thing that I can tell you that was missed or done incorrectly. Perfection from start to finish. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing our family the ability to grieve without worrying about his arrangements, and still giving us a reason to smile with the way you were able to capture his fun-loving nature and spirit in the video tribute. Scott Betzler and his staff are extremely professional, yet so caring and kind. On my most recent experience with Betzler funeral home Scott Betzler and his assistant Patrick of life stories, came to our rescue. We had a prearranged funeral for our beloved father at another local family owned funeral home. When we weren’t able to get what we needed from the funeral home where the arrangements were being handled, we began to literally run around Kalamazoo. We were trying to get a brochure printed in time for my dad’s visitation and funeral. It looked like we were not having any success. My brother reached out to Scott, who we’ve known for a lifetime. Scott immediately jumped in to save the day. Scott, without hesitation ,even though he was busy with other paying clients, stepped in, lended support and comfort and concern. He also saw to it that we were able to honor our father with a life story brochure . Patrick, also a very kind caring professional coworker of Scott’s sat with me and helped compose and layout our dad’s life story. They assured us that it would be completed and delivered to the church if necessary before my dad’s funeral. When asked what we owed for this service they refused payment and just said no charge and not to worry about it. Scott even reached out by phone call later that day and the next day to see how everyone waa doing. And he reached out by email a couple weeks after the funeral to check in on how everyone was doing. We did not receive such concern or care from the funeral home we patronized. I feel Betzler is a full-service funeral home and they’re there for every need you may have and help guide you through the process. During such a difficult time, it is hard to know what you need or even think about what you may need. We feel fortunate Betzler was able to assist us with our needs. Everyone is extremely professional yet very caring and warm. I felt more concern and care from Betzler, and we were not even their client . It’s sad we did not have the same experience from the place we are paying. If given the choice, we would choose Betzler, and we recommend them highly. Planning for the end of life is never easy, or fun, but Betzlee made it more bareable.

I cannot say enough about Joe, Sue and the entire Betzler team. They did a wonderful job helping us to coordinate a beautiful celebration of my Aunt’s life. All of my aunt’s relatives are out of town, so we had to rely on her friend and the Betzler team to help pull things together. They were able to create a wonderful video of my aunt’s life from the pictures we sent. They took care of the flowers based on input and accommodated a special request at the mausoleum for a relative who flew in late. They arranged a beautiful spread of refreshments and had table and chair seating so friends and family could sit and reminisce about her life. Even the two support dogs (Hollie and Ellie) knew just what to do. They were there for support if needed, but were not intrusive and would leave once they made sure they were not needed. As one reviewer already put it, they have the perfect combination of caring, support, kindness, professionalism and efficiency.
