We worked with Murphy's funeral home, with the passing of my father in law. Everyone was a pleasure to work with, we met all three generations of the Murphy family. Bob was fantastic as well. They went above and beyond to work with us and then more. I would highly recommend Murphy's, we were very well taken care of in this hard time.

Great service once again by the professional folks at murphy

I would not recommend them at all! So many errors were made. Please look at other local funeral homes that will definitely do a better job for half the price!

Mom unexpectedly passed away very quickly and dad wasn't prepared. The staff was fantastic. They helped us through each step of the process, were more them accommodating, patient, flexible, kind and caring through it all. I can't thank Murphy Funeral Home and its staff enough. I also speak on behalf of my family! Last, it can be very costly when someone passes away, but our needs were met accordingly and without finance stress!!

Paula Pike

I can not say enough about my experience with Murphy Funeral Home. They are sensitive to every family member and anticipate what your needs are before you can articulate them! They make a very emotional period in your life much easier.

My father and uncle and Aunt were all waked at Murphy's and they go out of there way to make sure everything was perfect. Very respectful and professional.

Sadly my family obtained the services of Murphy Funeral Home after the passing of my 34 year old brother. Although we had attended many funerals through them, we hadn’t been “front row”. I couldn’t have asked for better service. The staff were all kind and compassionate and able to answer any questions we had for them. The professionalism was top notch.

Donald McAuliffe

The Murphy Team provided expert service to my family during what is always a difficult time. The arrangements required some extraordinary scheduling and these were handled easily. Every member of the staff provided outstanding service. They treated my family with amazing respect and kindness. Would give them my unconditional recommendation to any Northshore family who needs to arrange services for a loved one.

If you are reading this review it is because you have lost someone you love. I'm sorry for your loss. The good people at Murphy Funeral Home are ready to help you as they did our family. Our family lost both of our elderly parents this year. Both times we turned to Murphy Funeral Home for assistance. They were very helpful in every aspect of the planning and preparation of final arrangements. What we appreciated most was that we always knew that our wishes, and those of our parents, we're being accommodated. We did not have any unusual requirements or requests but every time that we asked for something we were told "yes, if that's what you want then that's what we will do." We had a lot of questions and found they were always available to help us in person, by phone, or by email. That was important to us because it helped us keep distant family members informed. They assisted us through every step of the process in a very professional yet caring way. Through out the process we knew what services they would be providing and the complete costs. We did not feel rushed or under any pressure. Every person we met with treated us kindly, with compassion and respect.

Despite how very hard it was to lose my father, Bob made the experience go as easy as dealing with a death could possibly go. He was genuinely kind, caring, and sympathetic towards me and my loss. I can't express enough how great he is at his job. Couldn't have had a better person to help me throughout it all. I thank you Bob so much for everything. I greatly appreciate everything you did for me and my father. I would recommend anyone, dealing with a loss is hard enough and this is the place anyone should go to feel you have someone on your side and has you and your family's best interest at heart. For anyone that goes please ask for Bob. Thank you, Bob Jennifer Frongillo

Murphys Funeral Home is THE most disrespectful institution I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Simply appalling. My father committed suicide on June 7, 2017. As I am currently out of state, I signed over a release for his body to be received by Murphys. After finances had been settled by other family members, the consent was in place for me to receive my father's ashes. I've been calling and getting bounced around to Pam, Bob, John and Frank. No one gives me a straightforward answer. They're all "unavailable at the moment" or "out of the building right now" or "I'm not the one handling it" or "I have to meet with a family right now. I can't talk to you". I've left messages and absolutely nothing. It's been six weeks tomorrow since my father's death. About five weeks since Murphys took possession of his body. I called again today. I was told Bob wasn't available to follow up with me. Shortly thereafter, *****I RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM MURPHYS FUNERAL HOME SAYING THAT MY "FATHER'S REMAINS ARE WITH THE US POSTAL SERVICE AND SHOULD BE HERE BY TOMORROW".*****Along with...an INVALID TRACKING INFORMATION ATTACHMENT. How absolutely appalling! THAT is how they treat the family members of a deceased??? That is just shocking. The lack of compassion and such an IMPERSONAL TOUCH as to sending an EMAIL to someone saying that they dropped their father's remains in the mail? I've never been treated so poorly in my entire life. And at such a difficult time such as the death of a loved one? I'm outraged.

I don’t have enough words to thank Bob and all staff of Murphy funeral home... We called 4 am in the morning, and they just took it from there... This was first loss in our family in US and we literally did not know what to do... Bob walked us through the entire process, taking care of all the details every step of the way. Thank you!!!

They were excellent at walking us through the process and taking care of all the details at a difficult time. I would highly recommend them.

When my father passed away last year, Murphys walked me through the process and handled every detail with care. Brenden, Bob and Frank were professional and responsive and essentially made a very difficult time easier to navigate, allowing me to grieve and focus on family without worrying about the administrative side of loss. I would recommend them again and again.

Very easy to get there

Not one bit impressed with their customer service. After emailing Murphy's my grandmother's obituary, we never received a response. Wasn't even sure if they had got the email or not. We had to call them to find out they had already published it, in yesterday's papers! Not only were we denied the chance to confirm the charges we were billed for (one of the papers was close to $1000, you would think someone would ask if that was okay first), but we weren't able to purchase the paper since we weren't told when it would be published! The whole point of using a funeral home to publish an obituary is to make a difficult time easier on the family, but Murphy's has done the opposite by causing my grieving mother and grandfather more headaches.

Because of the circumstance of my husband's death, I was not in control of choosing my own funeral home. Murphy's was chosen for us, and we couldn't have been more pleased. We thank them for their professionalism and sincerity.
