We had a celebration for my mom's life at Schimunek Funeral Home in BelAir on Saturday, February 2, 2019. Everything was perfect. Thank you so much to all of the staff at Schimunek's and especially to Charlie and Steve for their patience and kindness in helping us at this difficult time. I would highly recommend this business.

I wouldn't change a thing! When your mom is in hospice and you are staying with her for 4 days straight as she's fighting for her life, who do you want calling you at 3 am after she passes!?! Well, I'm glad I had Jessica from Schimunek's calming, soothing, voice calling me helping me and directing me on what to do and what they were going to do. I was in a fog and I was so glad she was the one that called me. Then 2 polite, professional folks showed up at 4 am and caringly guided me through the next steps as Mom left for the funeral home. I highly recommend prearranging the funeral as we had done. You are able to carefully and without extreme emotions make the proper decisions for your family member. The next day Jessica was there for us again guiding us, assuring us and reviewing everything with us. She wanted to make sure we were happy and we understood everything. She was very detail oriented. I told her about some personal concerns I had and she made special accommodations for us. She allowed me to come in the next day to check on things and I was AMAZED at how perfect everything was set up in the room and how great Mom looked after being so ill. Schimunek exceeded my expectations. I know we would be coming to the funeral home the next day greeting so many folks and I could relax because we were in great hands. Jessica was with us till the end. Even guiding the pallbearers and everyone at the grave sight. I felt so at ease and I trusted her and she never let us down. She was our rock and guidance counselor through this whole process. This is the kind of company you want to deal with. I highly recommend them. As a side-note, when we went to pre-arrrange things for Mom a few years back, we met w/the other company in the area and I have to tell you I was talked down to and treated in a snooty manner. If you know me I'm a VERY friendly, successful, professional business woman and I'm not sure why I was treated that way. But that's not where I want to spend this kind of money. Made our choice very easy. The folks at Schimunek were so kind, caring, and professional from beginning to end. I will always tout about them and recommend them. They were on top of things, had great communication, followed up with me and Ioved the room Mom was in as well as the folks on duty. <3 Thank you everyone at Schimunek. We were treated like family at the funeral home! Truely, a wonderful experience dealing with all the staff! The staff was comforting, accomodating, sensitive to our needs, professional and kind! Our family could not have been more pleased from the pre planning to the actual viewing! When a loved one dies; the grief is overwhelming and it was so nice to know that Schimunek had our backs. The decorations were spectacular and perfect reflecting my Dad's passions! Our experience was fantastic-a true celebration of life!!

Everyone from the very beginning made a very difficult and emotional situation easier. Their compassion and dedication to our mother and our family was amazing. Steve Coster took every request we made and made it better than we even thought it could be. His patience and understanding from the beginning to the end was very appreciated and what we all needed at the time. The woman who created my mom's display of Family, Love for Kitchen and Music did the most amazing job. Everyone who came to visit just assumed the family had put it together because it represented my mom so well. Rebecca from the beginning of our planning helped us and navigated us through some tough decisions. It was a very difficult goodbye for all of us, but Schimunek eased our pain and suffering with their professionalism and compassion. Thank you!!
