We had a terrible experience with Ruck. Although my family has used Ruck several times in the past without any issues, this time was awful, from start to finish. It makes me wonder if Ruck is under new management. From being bounced around from person to person; to dealing with insulting pretentiousness; to muddling through jargon, unfounded assumptions, and poor communication; to having to face inexcusable mistakes on the day of the service, we found that Ruck added to our stress and frustration. Further, Ruck did not take responsibility for its mistakes, which included having to open the casket before it was lowered, because Ruck had forgotten to include an item that should have been in there. (This was a closed-casket service, and the item was in the casket when it was transported from a different state. Why it was removed, we don't know. Adding to the problem, a representative from Ruck blamed our family for the error, and did so at the cemetery, just after the service had ended. Our guests noticed the conversations taking place near the gravesite; several asked if everything was okay.) Ruck was, by far, the most unprofessional, unempathetic group my family dealt with during this difficult time. I cannot recommend them to anyone.
