I choose Ourso because I had been to several lovely services there. The staff is very approachable and is not pushy, helps you decide what is right for your circumstances. In our case there was a donation team that had to come in right away, cremation, mass here, and interment up North. I could not have made sense of it with out Greg Myers( our funeral director) help. I highly recommend them!

Funerals are inherently never good experiences. You’re mourning the death of a loved one. But Ourso goes above and beyond to ensure you have the best experience possible. I haven’t lived in Gonzales in several years, but when my mother passed away, I knew I would use Ourso. There was no question in my mind. I was not disappointed in my decision. I had never planned a funeral before, but Whitney handled everything with the utmost professionalism and guided me through the process with compassion. She was available via text for any questions I had. Some of the worst days of my life were made a little more bearable thanks to Whitney, Milton and the rest of the Ourso team. They treated me and my family with the sensitivity and care that’s essential when you lose a loved one. It was so evident that they were committed to showing my mom, myself and my family dignity and compassion at all times. I appreciated the kindness and excellent service more than I can express. You never want to need their services, but when you do, there’s no one else to go to in my mind. Ourso is the only place I would trust for funeral services.

We met with Whitney Lang to discuss our mother's arrangements. Whitney was very professional, knowledgeable and compassionate. She was not pushy or tried to take advantage of the situation. The room where the service took place was set up perfectly along with the video with the pictures of mom. The only two negative things I will mention is that there was a typo on the obituary and the prayer card. Instead of saying "of Baton Rouge" it said "on Baton Rouge" The second complaint would be that the picture used was a little blurry. Other than those 2 things Ourso Funeral Home did a great job.

Whitney Lang was very professional and knowledgeable. She was able to answer all our questions and sold us a package that was exactly what we were looking for. We would definitely recommend Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales to anyone that wants to pre-plan your final wishes. Our son will have nothing to do except pick up the phone and call them and pick out the food for the reception after the service.

With the recent passing of my son, I was feeling very overwhelmed and unable to make decisions...but Funeral Director and Prearrangement Specialist Whitney Lang was an absolute Godsend to me and my family. She is incredibly intuitive, understanding, gentle, and has impeccable taste. I was constantly amazed at all the little extra touches that Whitney added that made everything better. I cannot begin to tell you how many people have told me that under the tragic circumstances, that was the most beautiful funeral service that anyone had ever witnessed. I had never been through planning for anyone's final wishes before and wasn't sure what to expect. Mostly, I expected it to be awful. Adding to the absolute dreading and stress of having to do this at all, was that I was doing it for my mother with whom I was very close. I expected to barely make it through the appointment with Greg and to spend the remainder of the day curled up in a ball crying. To my surprise, Greg made the entire experience so much easier than I ever thought possible. I still got upset, I still cried and it still was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do, but without Greg guiding me and keeping me calm...telling me that what I was doing/feeling was normal....it would have been almost impossible to get through. I'd probably still be a mess weeks later! THANK YOU to Greg and everyone at Ourso who helped with arrangements for my mom. The military honors for my Vietnam Veteran Mother were especially appreciated. They even draped a flag over mom when they came to take her the night she passed. Ourso is VERY respectful of our military and their families and this meant so very much to me. Receiving a memorial flag causes a very strange emotion.....pride through excruciating grief. That is something I will never forget. I hope the need to visit Ourso again doesn't arrive soon, but when it does, I know me and my loved ones will be in good hands. THANK YOU!
