Even though this was a very sad time for our family Rattermans was very supportive. Their grief support was very helpfu. We feel that our Dad picked the right place for us to celebrate his life. Thank you Ratterman Brothers for getting us past the sad time.

Funeral homes are so just depressing. Even though we knew the end was near for my Uncle we still felt unprepared all the things that had to be done to put him to rest. I can't tell you how disorganized we were. The only good news is that the Rattermans treated us like family. They helped us and guided us and didn't take advantage of us even though, in hindsight, they could have. It was still a painful week of questions and decisions and family drama but the one solid thing that kept us going was the Rattermans. I know they do it all the time but they were a real Godsend.

What a charlie foxtrot Ratterman brothers funeral homes, Shelbyville rd, Louisville is. Find them on the web - whole freaking webpage dedicated, going on about veterans & what they'll do for them to assist. Call yesterday, explain who Steve is, what's going on, his preplan wishes - told need to call Beth in Lexington office, she handles all military arrangments. Ok, call Beth; yes she does handle things but everything set up by local director here in Louisville - need to call them back, so I do - speak with the same woman. That's odd she says; Beth usually...... but call back in the morning to set up an appointment WITH A FUNERAL DIRECTOR... So this morning I call back explain - again - TO THE SAME DAMN WOMAN, who turns out IS A FUNERAL DIRECTOR, who Steve is ONCE AGAIN, what he's wanting - and set up the appointment for 1300.... Walk in - THE SAME DAMN FUNERAL DIRECTOR greets us at the door - Steve tells her what we're there for - and she says they don't handle or do military funerals... W!T!F! - over. I ask then who is this Beth she had me call, got no real answer. Refers us to an unaffiliated buisness in Lexington. This whole operation turning into a real military charlie foxtrot. Steve's going spending his money to preplan & prepay his funeral in Lexington.

We had services at Ratterman Funeral Home East in Louisville KY for my Uncle Scott. The services were exactly what I think he would have wanted. I really liked the staff at Ratterman's. I would certainly recommend this Funeral Home to anyone in the Louisville area.

The Ratterman name has been trusted in this community for decades. I personally know the family, and they have attended to the arrangements for many of my family members with the utmost dignity and decorum. My father passed away last week, and Carl, Jr. was thoughtful, caring, and attentive to every detail. I saw the review about the lapse in services for veterans. I will tell you that my father was a WW II veteran, and Ratterman's made arrangements for the Navy Field Services to attend, play Taps, and present my mother with a flag. It was a very moving experience. The Ratterman family are professionals, and I cannot speak highly enough about them.

I would like to thank the staff at Rattermans. The whole staff was GREAT. Saying goodbye to a loved one is never easy. However the process is much easier when the staff at the funeral home are as caring as they are at Rattermans. They even have access to support groups. They really go out of their way to help you in your time of need. I would recommend them to anyone that I know.
