Selected Warren-McElwain as they are the nearest mortuary that could perform a natural or green burial in a local cemetery. Arrangements were made by phone & confirmed by email. Husband died on 18 Feb 2018. His body was picked up in North Kansas City, MO & transported to Lawrence, KS, wrapped in a shroud & placed in a cardboard container. I provided the obit to be placed in the Kansas City Star prior to the services on 22 Feb 2018, but it appeared the day after the funeral. An abbreviated obit was to appear in the Sunday edition of the KC Star -- it didn't! The contract included ten (10) correct, certified death certificates. A month later the D.C.'s arrived with incorrect information & blanks. I notified the mortuary & was assured this would be taken care of. Each time I've contacted them I was told it would be a couple of weeks before delivery of the correct D.C. It is now 14.5 weeks later and still no D.C.! Sent (again) email requesting when would the D.C. be available. They sent me a link to a local TV station news story about a woman waiting six (6) weeks to receive her husbands' D.C. with no comment about when I could expect delivery. I should have withheld $1,000.00 to be paid upon delivery of correct D.C., but I paid the full amount shortly after the funeral. So, I can't get his life insurance, IRA, etc, etc. My life is in limbo.

Exceptional. We have been utilizing WMM for funeral services since 1986 when my grandmother passed. We often joke with former owner, but still very involved, Larry about a frequent customer discount. Kidding of course. For every service we have used WMM and service done by WMM, is out of this world. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure the deceased is presented their Very best and respected to the upmost attention. They also make it a point that the family is cared for. They are so compassionate, accommodating, and goes the extra mile. I cannot say a bad thing about WMM, and wouldn't refer anyone needing services to anywhere else!

Audrey Bell and team at Warren-McElwain did an exceptional job when our relative passed away unexpectedly. During this extremely emotional time for us they were exceedingly professional & caring. Even when inadvertently our family arrived at our appointment time and another family was present at the funeral home discussing their needs--> Audrey Bell was able to balance the time between the two families and met our families expectations. They were extremely pleasant and accommodating.

Shock, at the worst time in our lives! We choose Warren-McElwain Mortuary when our son passed away, because of their Eudora Chapel. The Limousine or Family-car we requested when making funeral arrangements with Audrey Bell- Funeral Director, was disregarded. When trying to find out why: Larry McElwain owner, " stated we wern't charged so no harm done". Is this the respect someone deserves at the price of $13,226 plus? As stated in their memorial fund policy, our son's memorial funds was not given to the family, but ended up in the possession of our son's girlfriend and stolen from us! Money is not the issue but the disrespect from Warren McElwain who job was to put our trust in ! Our bill was paid in full within 28 days and we displayed respect on that part, but it wasn't returened by Larry McElwain ! After our experience, We can only pitty the fool who uses Warren McElwain at their time of grief and sorrow, Warning to you ! Find another mortuary, Larry McElwain only cares about your money!
