I laid my son Giovanni Melton, to rest at the age of 14 years old. He was killed by his father on 11-2-17. Senator Atkinson recommended that I meet Andre and the staff. Serenity helped me through this tragic time and I cannot say just how much I am in debt for the kindness, love and professionalism I received. No one should EVER go to ANY other funeral home in Las Vegas. They listened to my needs, they treated me like family. EVERYONE was great, I recommend this funeral home to everyone. Veronica Melton

I have to tell everyone that reads this, this is the best experience we have ever had. Raymond and his staff, showed such compassion, that we felt like we weren't in a funeral home. Genuine caring, No "Hard Sell". The VALUE is remarkable. I contacted 2 other funeral homes, one was 3 times higher and it was "this is our cost, take it or leave it". Why keep a deceased persons perfume or cologne. Bottles don't just disappear or get lost. That really hurt because it might seem like nothing to one but sentimental to others because we want to remember what the people we love smelled like. There's no excuse for this.

One week before Thanksgiving my sister in law gave birth to my niece who was stillborn. I called Serenity and the owner was so caring and sensitive to our needs during our time of bereavement, he had even worked around my work schedule. The day before Thanksgiving my family was able to view her, she was such a beauty. The cremation was done and she was shipped to my mother in California. Our expectations were exceeded and then some. On November 1, 2018, my family entrusted Serenity with the home going services for my beautiful sister Velina Spearman. Each and every detail of this service was done with the utmost love and attention to detail. It was as if they were handling the services of one of their own loved ones. I could not have prayed for, nor assembled a more astute and professional group of individuals as these. Mr. Adkins, so many places of business are now more about the dollar than the service, but you my friend are a true exception to this rule. Serenity Funeral Home did at terrible job for my husband homegoing. They forgot to bring flowers to the wake and the funeral. They did not provide escort services for the funeral line . There was no one to direct visitors at the wake to the correct area. Several of my co-workers complained that they were very rude. This company represent dishonesty and unprofessionalism. Mr. Ford did not take the time to address my concerns. Shame on you Mr. Ford!!!!! I want my refund for the flowers.

As if the shock of losing someone weren't hard enough, planning and arranging the funeral is even more complex. Serenity Funeral Home made it seem less excruciating. They were calm, compassionate, and patient when we were all angry and sad about our loss. They went above and beyond the call of duty, working after hours to make the entire event less stressful. I am forever grateful for their help and understanding, and I am certain that other larger funeral homes do not offer such a personal and private experience. I wouldn't recommend any other funeral home on the Northshore.

My family and I were taken by surprise when my brother suddenly passed away. We were so devastated, as any family would be with the loss of a loved one. My parents are elderly and on a fixed income and my sister and I are single moms. We knew my brother wanted to be cremated but did not have the money to pay what other places were charging. I called every funeral home and funeral place that we googled in St. Tammany Parish. While we wanted something inexpensive, I surely wasn't leaving my brother to be cremated by some hole in the wall place that is out there. I called Serenity Funeral Home and their prices were the best so we went there for a visit. I'm so glad I called Serenity. They were so caring, even though we weren't going to spend a huge amount of money or have the services there, but is really nice. We wanted his services in our church. They picked my brother up from the Coroner's office at no extra charge, took care of my brother and when we went to pick up my brothers ashes, I had several containers for several family members. They took all of the containers, went in another room and carefully packed my brothers ashes in every one of those containers. I hardly ever write a review, but I feel that everyone should know about Serenity Funeral Home. They have the best prices and treated us with so much love and care, I was blessed by God to find them. Thank you Serenity Funeral Home for making the cremation of my brother a positive experience. Your staff was awesome. God Bless All of You.

We chose them for my mother-in-law's cremation. Jermaine, the funeral director, was far from helpful or empathetic. He said she wasn't eligible for Title 19 coverage, without even calling to confirm, because she had life insurance. We were told that we had to pay $2,000 out of pocket for a simple direct cremation. We tried to negotiate on price & they were unwilling. We ended up transferring her to another funeral home where they called right away to check & confirmed she was covered by Title 19 & there were no out of pocket costs. Even if she hadn't been, they only charged $595 for direct cremation. Bottom line, Serenity was trying to rip us off & get our money. Their prices are unreasonable also.

Serenity Memorial Chapel offers A-1 Service. I would rate them the Best in the Business. Not only is the staff professional, but they show empathy in your time of bereavement. I would personally recommend them. My experience was wonderful with this company. They take the stress away, so you can deal with your loved ones. Keep up the GREAT WORK Serenity!!

We recently lost my sister-in-law and the family could not be more pleased with the service we received from Serenity. We compared two other homes in the area that came highly recommended, but the people we worked with at Serenity and the fact that their services were nearly half the cost of the others led us to choose them for our service. Everything was perfect. The facility is a wonderful old building and it felt very comforting being a part of that history. Their preparation of our loved one was beyond expectation, as was their customer service, support, clear communication, etc. It's easy to think we made a choice on cost alone, but honestly I don't what we could have received from anyone else that would have been worth any additional cost. They have our business from now on.

I can't speak highly enough about the services we received from the staff at Serenity. From the initial call with Jack down to completing the final details with Crystal, everyone on staff is amazing. Mr. Leonard is extremely nice and comforting and so is Ms. Dina at the desk. They made a very painful experience go smoothly and with minimal stress. My mom had a couple of emotional outbursts with the staff and they remained professional and still went out of their way to help us in every way they could. We live in New Orleans and took a 50 min drive to Covington so that we could use this company due to their high reviews and affordable prices and we are glad we did. I would use them again and highly recommend them to anyone who needs their services.

Serenity Funeral was in charge of my father’s Funeral Gregory Lester Sr. At first me and my family thought we where in good hands by letting them prepare my father for his home going service because we had heard so many great things about them. Yet our experience has proved that they NEVER CARED FOR OUR FAMILY! On the day of the wake when we went to view the body we asked about having sprays for the casket and where told by Mr. Ford’s Staff that he would have two of them and that the funeral car and ESCORT would be at our house at 10:15 am to guide the funeral line to the funeral. The day of the funeral the funeral car showed but no escort! This left us in a very dangerous situation because we had no Escort to help with traffic and we where traveling from Frasyer all the way to Getwell. The funeral line was also very long and this could of resulted in many accidents because people on the road was jumping in and out the line to get around. Right before we got to the church that’s when the Escort finally showed, but once again we where around the corner from the church!! We discuss this with Mr. Ford and his staff and at first they apologized and Mr. Ford said that those services would be refunded since we had in fact PAID FOR THEM. Now they are switching their story and saying that we never requested those services!! I am appalled because He is now accusing us of being liars and now WILL NOT RETURN ANY OF OUR PHONE CALLS! This is outrageous and completely UNPROFESSIONAL. How is it that we never requested the services but they admitted their wrongdoing in the beginning and sent an escort at the last minute. I was there for every meeting with my mother about the arrangements and we asked them several times about the sprays and escort and they assured us that everything was set up and ready to go? Mr. Ford even admitted to me and my mother that he paid for the escorts for my father’s funeral and when they didn’t show he said that he could of just used his own if he knew they wouldn’t show. Now Tell me who has a funeral with NO ESCORTS FOR THE FUNERAL LINE!?!?! It doesn’t make sense I now wish we had gone with another funeral service because this one is just money hungry and full of Lies and I am very disappointed in them. I don’t want anyone else having to go through the same ordeal as me and my family so if you can please choose another funeral home to have your loved one home going services. IT DOES’NT FEEL GREAT BEING CALLED LIARS BY PEOPLE YOU TRUSTED TO HANDLE A DELICATE SITUATION WHEN THINGS SEEMED DARK IN YOUR LIFE.

I don't get in the habit of writing reviews for funeral homes. I have been to too many funerals in my life and in the last few years . Today, we buried my cousin. Funeral services at the church were fine. My cousin looked like herself which is what you want to see. I however was impressed with our trip to the burial site. There were at least 3 black cars with lights and sirens escorting the family in addition to the limo that carried family members and an SUV marked Serenity Funeral home. They made sure that we stayed together even with debris in the road from a storm. A lot of the people attending the funeral were not from Memphis. After they got us to the location, the young men got out of their cars and stood with hands over their hearts until family members made their way into the cemetery. I almost felt like VIP. We hate to bury our relatives but this is the way that we all have to go. We just thank God that there are people out there trying to make things comfortable for the family. When I left the repast, that limo was waiting on immediate family. It's the little things that count. I just want to thank you.
