I had the pleasure of working with Morgan, Hope and Steven. I was blessed to have been placed in their care. Not once did I feel pressure to make decisions I was not comfortable with. They were honest and there were no surprises with hidden costs. I would highly recommend Resthaven Mortuary/Cemetery to anyone who is in the position of making final plans for themselves or a loved one. I can’t recommend rest haven enough. My family has been through so much in the past couple years and we recently laid a family member to rest and Sharen Dare did our family’s service and did a fabulous job conveying my uncle’s personality. Thank you!

Lois Thompson I don't have your Email address or I would send this directly to you. I will never recommend you. Today was 2nd time I had to go to Mark the General Manager because I couldn't depend on you. I was furious. You told me you would call back in 5 minutes and I waited around home for 1.5 hours. I called Mark then to my business taken care so I could leave home. I worked in staff and management positions as an RN for 49 years. If I told people I was going to do something and I didn't do it I would get in so much trouble. I do not care that something walked in your office. You should them you PROMISED to return a phone call in 5 minutes. I thought I had it the jackpot with you when I did all business preparing for my death but I don't like the way to you have treated me since. I can't depend on you period. I've known Mark since we did business with him when my Dad died in 1991. He has always been superior and what a shame it is that he has to pick up behind you and follow up with your customers. He continues to defend you that you normally don't perform like this. It's too darn bad if you just do crappy follow up with me for some reason. The fact REMAINS I am still your customer and I expect to be taken care after my family and I have spent so many money @ Resthaven.

I am posting this as a warning to people - do NOT USE RESTHAVEN MORTUARY/CEMETERY in Wichita, KS!!! They failed to complete my grandmother's funeral arrangements from 7 years ago and upon discovery refused to accept or own up to their very evident inability to honor my grandmother's wishes and do the job we paid them to do. This has now created an additional rift in our family which tops this off even more so. They are incapable of doing their job or now, more importantly, of accepting responsibility for their failure which infuriates me. Appalling and unacceptable!! I didn't realize you had to babysit them, follow up and literally do their job so that everything gets done! So take heed with your loved ones! Leave nothing to chance and stay on top of things! Their error is now permanent and it breaks my heart!! You have no idea how their despicableness added so much salt to my wound! No idea!!!! SHAMEFULLY WITHOUT INTEGRITY!!!

To anyone wanting to do business with Rest Haven Mortuary, be for warned In June 2015, I called Rest Haven Mortuary to ask questions about a pre needs contract that is currently in place for my brother. I was promised that they would return my call with the information requested. After several more calls to them, (translating into weeks) I was told that I needed to speak directly to the acting director Mark Hansen. It surprised me that only the director could handle this since the other people seemed quite competent, happy and willing to do so. I called Mark Hanson on several occasions requesting information on the sales contract. After jumping through several hoops, complying and proving his request to prove I was my brothers Power of Attorney, I had to jump through yet another hoop and have a medical doctor write a letter stating my brother was cognitively impaired. As of early August, 2015, I sent all paper work and statement proving my position and once again asked for the information. Since I have lost all faith, trust and respect for Rest Haven and its acting manager Mark Hanson. In fact, they act in such a way that attracts attention to whether they can be trusted with anything; or if they may be hiding something. In my letter to Mark Hanson I demanded a full audit and explanation of the sales. I gave Mark a reasonable amount of time to respond. On August 12th 2015, I called once again made a call to Mark Hanson. I was told he was out of the office and would return my call when he got back; I’m still waiting for his call. As of today, August 18th 2015, I have had NO communication with the acting manager Mark Hanson. They are avoiding and refusing all contact with me even though they have all of my contact numbers. As of today, I made a formal complaint to the Kansas State Board of Mortuary Arts. If Rest Haven Mortuary truly had their clients best interest in mind, they would have resolved this issue easily and quickly and without the expense and extra work of investigating this complaint. However that is not the case. I believe that they are stalling for the purposes of not disclosing a wrongful sale or contract. If you like working with companies that treat you like this then this is your place to do business.

My grandparents went into contract with resthaven in 1985 and paid for their funerals in full after my grandfather had retired. They have documentation and a signed contract with resthaven for full burial services on both my grandfather and grandmother. We lost my grandfather on july 4th 2017. My grandmother has since been informed that resthaven is under new ownership, and that her contract is null and void. That for them to do his service it will cost an additinal $6k. They have my grandfathers remains and will not release untill payment has been maid for services rendered. This is absurd. And will not go unchallenged. Their is no dignity in this. This is greed and blackmail

My mother recently passed during the holidays. I was in no way prepared to plan her funeral. Due to my mother living a couple of hours away and being on hospice, she was taken to a funeral home in chanute immediately after her passing. I chose rest haven for her services because my sister and I live in the wichita area. My mother in law , 4 nephews, and step daughter have been laid to rest there. Megan and Hope were both very patient, kind, and informative they checked on me several times before the service to see how I was doing and if I needed anything. The day of the service everything was perfect. Set up exactly how we had discussed. They even called me afterwards to see how I was doing and if there was anything I needed, or if there was anything they could do for me. I have no regrets with my choice of using rest haven. Cindy

Resthaven was wonderful to work with at a very hard time in our life. Even though I have several family members at Resthaven, this was the only one that I was responsible for. This place is amazing. The two individuals that helped with my grandma's service, Jaimee Witmer Funeral Director and April Christmas Dignity Memorial Representative where so sympathetic, empathetic, polite, and courteous. They made serve seamless. All the music and organizing everything so we could focus on just celebrating my grandmother's passing. Thank you both. I definitely give 5 stars and would give more if I could.

My son suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. We didn't have anything arranged, nor even discussed the possibility of arranging services for our son, that being said Resthaven Mortuary went above and beyond in their care, explanation, and service. They patiently walked us over the process and what to expect. They followed all of our wishes we had asked them to do. Communication was direct and quick with a great deal of compassion from everyone I talked to. I couldn't recommend Resthaven enough.

Our Son is buried here, unfortunately we didnt have the time to research cemeteries around Wichita due to his unexpected death. During the process of his viewing his property was damaged by staff and was dressed in clothes we did not provide for him nor wanted him buried in. Going through the roughest time in our life was not easy to lay him to rest having irresponsible staff. Going forward, after my husband... his loving Father placed him in the ground we felt like we could finally begin the grieving process. NOOOO we couldnt, the following day the grounds crew mowed over his flowers. Have since done it a few more times, replaced one of the few arrangements but not all like we were told they would. They have removed his grave marker and left our son UNMARKED unlike they said they were going to leave it marked until we purchased his bench. It is hard to reach the staff and they show no dignity or respect as their "motto" is. My son deserves better. Called corporate and never heard back from them. If you love them, take them where they can be remembered.
