Our little baby passed very sadly away. Hamilton's made going through the process of making final arrangements as pleasant as I could have possibly imagined. Everyone was sympathetic and kind and professional. They truly made a tragic situation less stressful to my whole family. They truly have a gift and I would highly recommend them. God bless them all. And RIP baby Harper girl. We will see you again

When my brother passed and they held his viewing, his body was on display, on a table, in a room wearing a blood stained hospital gown. It felt like they didn't really care, and left the gown on because he was going to be cremated. My brother was a Marine and served his country, and this is the respect he got from this funeral home.

Now last year they did provided excellent service for my 4yr child ..but yesterday at a African American veterans funeral was I totally blindsided and piss off that they treated the family like garbage. There was not 1 person from Hamilton to greet family,nor the entire service. NO one close the casket during the service,stayed open. LIKE I STATED NO ONE FROM HAMILTON FUNERAL WAS IN ATTENDANCE. Family was told only certain number of people could come (never heard that mess at any funeral home) family had bring a portable speaker to play music . rearrange seating because Hamilton decided that they were to busy and downright pure laziness to provide seatin for everyone.told family that they would be charge for water..Water!!!are you kidding me! NONE had any compassion that this beloved man had a host of grandkids.children and more that love and care for him.They were very rude to the family and just disrespectful to family and the deceased. ..He served this country and for Hamilton to treat him and his family like a dog like that they should be straight up ashamed ALL OF THEM! I Will NEVER NEVER EVER SEND ANYONE TO HAMILTON EVER.NOT EVEN MY DOG. JUST PLAIN HORRIBLE!

My parents passed away when we were pretty young, and we knew nothing about planning a funeral. We also had some extenuating circumstances to consider, and 2 rather large families who detested each other to deal with. The gentleman who helped us was named Tom (but this was 20 years ago). He was the nicest, most calming and caring person, he almost took us by the hand and guided us through the whole process. We managed to do a decent service and the staff barely batted an eye even when the mourners began to fistfight. We weren't aware that people will often leave cards at the service with money and such, and they were honest and kind enough to collect them and give them to us at the end of the service. I will be eternally grateful for their support.

Hamilton is the only funeral home I have ever attended a funeral at. All family and friends choose them. Even myself, when my son died, went to the people at Hamilton to guide me through it all. They are kind, considerate and lead people through the necessary process as gently as possible. I am glad Des Moines has had such a honest and reliable funeral home for as long as I can remember..

I had my rabbit cremated here. Hamilton's offered to come pick up my pet from my home and were extremely accommodating and professional. They also prepared a paw print mold and hair clipping, along with the beautiful urn, for a very affordable price. They did a wonderful job honoring my pet.

Lia mode has been lying to me since before Christmas about sending a flag to be in my dad's honor. She wouldnt send his ashes to me in Tennessee but gave the lady he lived with when he died suddenly. I finally told her I would be speaking with a attorney.,,all a sudden she could send at least the flag, couldn't do anything about his ashes,,,I've spoke with her 4 times since before Christmas 5, each time she sounds shocked I haven't received, so she will mail another out on Monday,,.,that was the last time I was able to her on the phone,almost a month ago. I encourage anyone done wrong by these people file complained at Iowa.gov

Best funeral home i have ever been to. they were so kind and showed so much love and compassion towards my husband and i lost our 2 month old son. thank you for everything you have done. they even got me a new garden dancer when someone stole it from my sons grave FOR FREE!!!!!. AMAZING JOB

My grandpa was a veteran and with that the Veterans memorial pays for all or most of the funeral. To get these services, you can not pay any money upfront to the funeral home, and need to sign a paper saying that we have paperwork in the works with veterans memorial. There were 6 people with the lady planning the funeral and 4-5 times we said that veterans was getting the paperwork. NOT ONCE did the funeral planner at Hamiltons mention anything about a signed form we needed, but instead took the credit card (because obviously no one has $5000 on them at one time), knowing full well his military benefits would be VOIDED! We call afterwards and you know what they say? It's done, can't help you. Well, I guess they don't really care about the people they are in business with.

I have had several family members funerals through Hamilton’s. With each of them the entire staff was a blessing. Jamie Caes was an absolute rockstar with both my father, and grandfather’s funerals. They were only 9 months apart. Scott Erickson was very knowledgeable, and price conscious when I preplanned both my grandparents services. Chuck was amazing at my grandfather’s service, he presented the American flag to my grandmother. To this day it means the world to her. I truly wish I could remember each staff members name. If I could give 10 stars I would!

If you want to be taken advantage of while you're grieving, go to Hamilton's. This place will suck what little soul you have left right out of you. Extremely dishonest group of people that lie about payments and interest. There are way better places to have your service.

Friendly staff. They allowed our loved ones dogs to attend the visitation and roam freely among the guests. Which helped to ease the pain. Thank you for understanding pets are family too. Great job Hamilton's.

Family member paid $200 for a funeral brochure that looks like it was designed by a five year old. Do they have old people who know nothing about computers designing these or something? Yeesh. Couldn't have taken more than ten minutes of effort, might as well have bought a template online or something. Don't bother paying them for this service, it's a waste of money. Default Microsoft fonts and low res images stolen from Google and everything lol.
