As a pastor, I have worked with many mortuaries. In my experience I have found none more caring and professional than Frains.

I am the Client of whom Ayanna Martin speaks and was on a three-way call between Martin, Frain and myself. I am not "old and worried about my last days". Frain did NOT contact me, I initiated the contact with Frain Mortuary. Ms. Martin's remarks are self-serving as she is employed by the Neptune Co. with which I am currently contracted for cremation. I had Frain contact Neptune in August. It was a whole month before they returned the call. If I had been "worrying about my final arrangements", I certainly am now and until the contract with Neptune gets switched to Frain. Not knowing the integrity of the Frain family, Ms. Martin insinuated that they would try to cheat me for more than was contracted, and to "not let that happen". I have known the Frain family for years and trust them implicitly. Yes, of course it upset Frain to be accused of fraud, and yes Ms. Martin hung up on us. Any problem I have is with Neptune and Ms. Martin, not Frain.

I could not believe the tone and manner in which the Funeral Director had spoken to me via phone. I am still in shock. Not only did he yell, he did with a client on the phone. He did not follow the proper protocol for the request that he was yelling at me. He did not give me the chance to give him the proper instructions. He was overly aggressive and not willing to compromise during any of the conversation. I would not recommend anyone using this Mortuary as he did not seem to have any compassion during the entire call. In addition, why would you call a client in a nursing home asking her about money that she wanted to be transferred after she died. It is bad enough that she is old and worried about her last days. Now she will be worrying about how her final arrangements are going to be handled. That is really a shame. It was so bad that I had to terminate the call because of the aggression from this John Frain.

I would like to start off by saying I have been to other family's funeral services at frain mortuary and it seemed to be a professional and caring group of people. Of course I didn't see what the family's had to deal with when it came to dealing with the employees and owner of frain mortuary. But, now that I have seen first hand how they treat the family of the deceased I am shocked they are still in business. They were very rarely nice to most of us. Also, there seemed to be unorganized and unprofessional at best. For instance, they messed up the order of the precession and when I had stated the order was wrong, the answer I got was "Well, it's a little late now" and he simply walked away. Now, I know that it doesn't matter all that much about the order in which we drove. But, the attitude I received was unacceptable to say the least. This is one instance among many that we had to deal with. The first time we walked into the funeral home we were greeted by the owner. The first words out if his mouth were "You can't bring drinks into my chapel. You'll have to leave them in another room". It was very rude and honestly unnecessary the way he approached us. He didn't even say hello first. So to say the least, I personally am very disappointed in frain mortuary and the way they handled my grandfathers services. My grandfather served 22 years in the Air Force. He flew for a four star General. So, as you can imagine, he strived for excellence and nothing short of it. I just wish they would have gave as much effort to their jobs as my grandfather did his. Thank you for reading this and I hope this can help other families when it is their time to honor their late family members. Whomever they might be.
