I have used Day twice in 18 months when I lost both my parents. I recently lost my father in law and his family chose to use a local funeral home. This funeral home was flooded and they really did a great job of getting their place back together in time for his funeral. The one thing they didn't have were the black boards to post pictures. Thinking that DAY MORTUARY was a caring place I asked to borrow or even rent them for a day. Their response was they only use them for THEIR funerals. How disappointing. I was stunned because I thought they were caring not only about their families. I will never forget how I scramble and put together decent looking boards and how DAY MORTUARY and their MANAGER let me down

Ann, specifically, sensed our desire and need for an approach that focused on honoring our loved one without the typical 'sales pitch' you get from many. The staff of D&D-F was very compassionate and kind in working with me and our daughters during a very difficult time. I appreciated their professionalism and patience. We were able to do what we had to even though we very much didn't want to. I am not sure they have anything to do with the timing of the survey but the one day I WOULD NOT send this survey to a family is on the anniversary of their loved one's death. I received it then and remarked to both of my daughters how weird it felt to be surveyed today of all days. It is 4 days later now and that makes all the difference to me. To me that day is sacred forever now and I probably shouldn't even have been looking at my email.

Yesterday's personal end of life arrangements was as easy as the appointment and service I had earlier for my late husband. Funeral Home personnel were easy yet professional in their interaction with me was their client. Both persons who have helped me have been friendly and just the right amount of "light" to suit my personality. All my earlier information was on file; I knew exactly what I wanted to accomplish. Staff was ready and willing to comply with my wishes and also to offer perfect suggestions. The package consisting of cremation, all necessary papers signed or ready to sign, naming of witnesses for death certificate, book, folders, etc., was discussed and arranged for. It is a good package. I would certainly recommend Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral home to family and friends looking for end of life services.
