It may seem a littler strange to leave a review about a funeral home, but I just have to do it. In the most emotional and distraught time in my life, Drake & Sons on Western Ave., namely Esmeralda Ramirez really stepped up to the plate. Esme handled the situation with such care and empathy and really made us feel as though she was walking this tough path with us. She tried at every turn to save us money. When she realized that my Mom passed to days after my birthday I could really tell she was heartbroken for me. She really took care of us and although she couldn't be there the day of my moms funeral, she was sure to leave extremely detailed notes for the director that was going to be there so that no one missed a beat. When we had an issue with the cemetery during the planning process, Esme stepped in and handled that for us as well. Esme knew that there was a lot of information being given to us and she had no problem repeating herself SEVERAL times and continuing to be empathetic. When we didn't know which options to choose, she gave us recommendations and they were usually the cheapest options, or she would help us by asking us questions about my mom to assist in guiding us to an appropriate decision and letting us know that there is no wrong decision. All in all, she assisted in making the process less difficult and I could not be more thankful. My mother's home going was absolutely beautiful and exactly what she would have wanted.
