I think Chapel Hill Cemetery always outdoes their selves. The Cemetery always looks nice. We are there about 6 times a year visiting loved ones. The Cemetery is very well kept up. Wonderful Memorial Day service. Joan is nice. Things have really improved since Brian left.

one word: NIGHTMARE. dishonest, unprofessional, underhanded, staff..it has been since January of 2016, and we are still dealing with this place about a headstone for my mother! everything is paid in full, but STILL do not have a vase that was ordered and paid for...would NEVER, NEVER, recommend this place to anyone..I sincerely hope KARMA catches up to every person that works there! It's already traumatic when a loved one passes away, but to still, 2 years later, have to deal with this place, over a mistake they made, it is unbelievable!!! SHAME on them!!!

If there were an option for no stars, that's what my review would show . My mother passed away January 10th 2016. We went through Chapel Hill funeral home. Joan and all of them that work there are liars and crooks. Joan told me that Brian Baker left with company computer and all of the families information, then they said Brian Baker stole cash, then they said they couldn't get the marker down on our mom's grave because the ornaments that we ordered, the Cardinal and the butterfly were too big so they had to resize it and anything else that they could possibly say to put off spending the money that we actually spent to buy the marker. We had no clue that we could use another funeral home, we just assumed because our father was buried there we had to go through them. I'm going to say I do NOT believe Brian Baker played any role in deception, however Joan, the new funeral director (who called me April 28, 2017 to state I had a balance, the 3 brothers who own this funeral home and several others all are thieves and liars. The three brothers consist of an attorney (who threatened me) one brother out of prison for mail fraud, the other owns car lots and their sister in in administrative in Franklin Heights ..kind of sketchy. I filed a complaint with a Mr.Khan a thorough Illinois Department of Federal Regulations, they were found guilty and given a fine, a fine of which to the best of my knowledge has not been paid. Joan is a very smooth talker, but a black hearted liar. The entire funeral home , owners, funeral director and Joan should all be closed down and unable to work anywhere in the funeral business again. Joan led on for months that it was ordered (marker) meanwhile Brian Baker quits(not fired as Joan said) and tells me there are families who have no clue their money is spent and markers not put down until family comes for surprise visit. At such a horrible time in life you look for solice and understanding, however all we were given were lies and heartaches. We are currently working with a reputable funeral home to add vase and complete marker to our liking and they are charging 1165.00 just to be able to have it altered..Their standard rates. I would NOT bury my dog there. Matter of fact one day we may move both our parents to a reputable cemetery. This business has no compassion and thinks only of the almighty dollar. Joan is very deceptive and has two faces..both need to be slapped. I feel sorry for any families that may experience this fate. I would highly suggest anyone in need of funeral services please do your research and go somewhere else. I wouldn't trust them with my dog. I'm in the process of getting transcripts of complaint filed and have every intention of posting and sharing with Sauk Valley Gazette as well as local news. There has been no closure for myself or my family since our mothers passing, this is because of the horrible experience we've had with this business.
