Honestly. I did not want to go this far to write a bad review but one of the “Directors” (Mr. Kahele Jr.) has pushed my buttons to the point that I just had to. I hope no one ever has to go through what my family had to go through with them.
After doing some research and having to deal with new owners (Affordable Casket and Moanalua Morturary) you would think that they would have cared even more about customer service and revamping their image. Yet, this location has not learned from any of their mistakes.
First off, they do not care about how to ease your sorrows. They make excuses about why they do not have the time to care. They talk about their personal matter not realizing their customer also has personal matters that were worse than them. Also if you have personal matter that you cannot get over, maybe you need to take care of them before tending to people who are going through a difficult situation, such as a death.
Second, they do not pay attention to details nor the information and blame you for not checking, when it was originally noted correctly.
Third, they say they run on “Hawaiian Time” which is not an excuse to be lazy and slow about serious matters like a death. Also the director bluntly told me if I didn’t like it them then I could just take the body and go, which was really disrespectful and demeaning.
Forth, if you are going to tell a customer that you will inform them about when the death certificates are shipped out. Then you should follow through. I did not even know they had sent me anything and did not find out until my neighbor told me that they signed for them before me. Furthermore, it seems that they did not inform us correctly on how they would count how many copies they would be sending me. So he “will have to go pull the file”, basically at his own time. So I am still waiting on an answer right now.
There is so much more to say, but no time to even finish. This is the worst place ever. If you plan to use these services, you have been warned. Other locations affiliated to this place may be better. But this location is not. I feel bad for the lady who works at the front desk because she really was the friendly one who at least to tried answering questions.
