Julie N My mother passed away recently. Chris Ryan of Gleason-Ryan Funeral Home handled all of the arrangements. I can’t say enough good things about Chris and his staff. Everything from the services to the arrangements at St. Peter’s Church were handled perfectly. He made a very difficult time for my brother and I very easy with his kindness, professionalism and attention to detail. Also, his staff was courteous and helpful at all times. I highly recommend Gleason-Ryan Funeral Home.

Horrendous service. Chris is rude obnoxious and pompous. Not once did he even offer condolences. He rescheduled the appointment without notifying me. He gave preference to the mother of the deceased over the father even though the mother would not pay one cent for the funeral. I would rate this place with zero stars if possible for everything from Chris himself down to his drivers. There are other options in town I strongly recommend you chose one of them

We have had several family members funeral services and one friends service there. In May, my Dad passed away and I contacted Chris Ryan. My experiences have been nothing short of perfection. I love the old fashioned, personal hands on involvement from a small town Funeral Home. I have been at other funeral homes in the past in many different towns and I found them to be extremely expensive, commercial and frustrating having to deal with several people. You are out of luck if you're looking for a simple funeral service which is what we wanted at Gleeson. Chris handled everything from start to finish for my father perfectly. He was right there every step of the way to make sure even the smallest detail was handled and very accessible by phone. There isn't anything I would have changed. I highly recommend them to anyone. During such a difficult time, you need someone that is going to be sensitive to your grief while providing services to lay them to rest. Chris Ryan is by far one of the nicest persons I have ever met. He is very professional and down to earth. Chris buried both of my parent within 3 months of each other and did an excellent job from beginning to end. Everything ran like clock work and I received so many complements at my parents calling hours about how wonderful and natural they both looked. Family and friends could not get over how beautiful and comfortable the funeral home is. I could never thank Chris Ryan enough for all he did during our time of great sorrows. This is a First Class Operation and his staff are some of the best I have ever encountered. I have attended many calling hours and funerals in Torrington and the greater Litchfield area and this is by far the Best Funeral Home in every respect of the word.
