The Great Mausoleum is one of the most ornate buildings in LA and has replicas of many famous sculptures in Europe. The Hall of the Crucifixion has one of the largest paintings on earth. The park itself is stunningly beautiful. Eaton truly accomplished his goal of making Forest Lawn a memorial park and I would highly recommend a visit.

For the most partit does until you receive the death certificate with wrong information even after it was confirmed before processing. Also, they dont let you look over everything in a timely manner, and try to gain extra dollars out of you, and then at the processing portion when you finally seeif you itemize your funeral it is cheaper and they get upset with you for having to do it all over again. Dont try and swindle me in a hard time and get upset with me. Otherwise the grounds are beautiful.

I didn't know Forest Lawn Museum existed until I came here for the A Million and One Pieces by David Tracy exhibit. The exhibit was a lot smaller than I expected. We were done within 10 minutes. I went on the opening reception day and it was pretty fun. I got to see David Tracy's modern contemporary furniture, mostly lamps, made from lego bricks. I was so cool! Each piece required about 65,000 pieces of legos depending on size. We were so curious that we even searched how to create one of these. David was there that night for a meet and greet as well. It was nice to see him speak about his work. Forest Lawn Museum has a small but beautiful courtyard. The view is great as well. I love the Glendale city lights! Getting here was a bit difficult. In order to get to the museum you have to drive all the way to the top. You will see a big lot for parking and a building with "MUSEUM" on top. Parking is free!

I never felt pressured to purchase anything and all of the questions I asked were answered in detail. Once I decided on the burial needs that would be best for my family, Forest Lawn worked with me to make my selections possible. When I returned to work after my meeting with Jennifer, my colleagues asked if I was weirded out by visiting a cemetery. I can honestly say that I had the opposite reaction. I felt calm and content while visiting the beautiful site and knowing that I had handled this inevitable step in all of our lives. The last resting place of Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor is located on the hillside and offers beautiful views of the Hollywood Mountains (but not the side of the famous letters) and lots of greenery and flowers. What I like the most is the Lil museum at the top of the hill is very interesting there is a lot of art and history... And this is the home of a lot of dead celebrities . I have 3 relatives buried here. The process before the burials were handled with care, sensitivity, and such professionalism. All I did was call forest lawn, and they took over from there. They make the arrangements with out of state or in state hospitals, nursing homes, or coroners to take the loved ones to their mortuary. The chapels are beautiful and serene at forest lawn, so no need to go outside. No need to hire police escorts. They are at the top of their game.

One of the most beautiful cemeteries in the world with its hillsides, landscapes, buildings, & museums. Growing up in Sun Valley near by, my father would bring us here in the 60's & 70's as kids. When he passed away in 1983. There was no question where to bury him for his resting place. The Great Masoleum is where many of the famous entertainers are buried. But, much of the mausoleum is private and not open to the public. You can spend the whole day here visiting without any cost. The grounds are immaculately kept and the settings European. The staff are accommodating and courteous. Great place to visit & the view of the San Fernando Valley & Los Angeles is breathtaking.

This is a lovely memorial park with the final resting place of stars from today (Carrie Fischer and Debbie Reynolds) and those of yesterday (Stanley Laurel and Mary Pickford.) It isn't just for film people though; there are 250,000 people interred here. There are no upright grave memorials, but there are some beautiful statues throughout the park. It is a huge place, over 300 acres. A great way to spend an afternoon paying your respects in this beautiful, solemn place.

This place is huge. Plenty of road to drive around. Grave stones everywhere. The grounds are well taken care of. I saw some people just walking around. Nice and peaceful place to just get away from all your cares in the world and put some perspective in your life about life and death. A reminder on how precious life is. Don't take it for granted. Always tell you love your loved ones everytime you leave them. You never know when you too will be 6 feet under.

Forest Lawn in Hollywood Hills is an extremely great place for planning ahead of time and when unexpected passing happen in the family. Joan Ryser is an excellent, and very helpful person when it comes to making decisions for future needs and unexpected needs. She is a very nice and patient individual when decisions are hard to make. I always visit my friends whose remains are located in the Great Mausoleum. The only complaint that I have is not directed to the staff that oversee this beautiful and breath taking scenery of this cemetery but of the public who visit. Be appreciative that these grounds are open to you, do not trespass or bother the bereaved relatives who visit their deceased family and friends. This is not a gaudy tourist attraction; but a place of repose.

So impressed with this place! Was looking specifically for graves of my father's parents. They were buried before I was born in 1948 and 1964, and I hadn't been here so the plot number was a little challenging to find.... As I was searching the scope of Liberty Hill where they are buried, I must have looked lost, as one of the planning advisors, Angela Vega, decided to stop and help...Mind you -- she was off the clock -- on her way home..Regardless, she stayed with me for around 30 minutes as we searched and the sun began to set -- she wouldn't leave until we found their spaces... A security guard also stopped to help -- everyone there is so kind. The grounds are well kept -- the trees are beautiful -- the sunset gorgeous -- An unexpected uplifting experience -- And when we finally found the plot of my grandparents, side by side -- there was such a breath of peace in the whole experience. Much thanks to you, Angela, and to the security guard as well :)

We worked closely with Robert Strong at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cathedral City/Rancho Mirage to discuss our pre-arrangement needs. Forest Lawn is a tranquil, beautiful facility, and (as we discovered during our tour) was chosen by many notable people for their final internment needs. Robert was very helpful, and put us at ease with such a daunting task. He showed us the buildings, grounds, chapel, gathering rooms and a beautiful room dedicated to selecting your final wishes. We were both able to determine what kind of packages we liked, and decided to purchase a double crypt in the mausoleum during our appointment with him. Robert was very patient, kind and made the entire process quite easy for us. He also explained the cash or financing options available which allowed us to move forward. We are very grateful for all of Robert's assistance and feel a sense of relief that we agreed to our end of life needs together as a couple.

I lost my mother recently, and buried her next to my father at the lot we bought 26 years ago . For her service we order and paid extra $250 for Memory folders and Thank you Cards; they were printed with the wrong birthday, the wrong languaje and also a different psalm that we had picked the day we met with the advisor . I think very unprofessional ( if you want call it like that) because even though they reprint it the memory folders (it was after the service, too late).

Very peaceful place with an incredible staff. From the woman in the florist shop, to the staff that helped me with info, to the groundskeepers...everyone respectfully cares. I was there to visit my Dad and knew where his site was by heart, but I hadn't visited my mother-in-law's grave for a long time and I became completely lost trying to find it. Along came Javier and Antonio, out doing some grounds-keeping duties. Seeing my confusion, they had me follow their vehicle all the way to the grave. Then? They hopped out, hedged, cleaned and oiled her tombstone for me AND brought a temporary vase out for the flowers I'd brought!!! I mean, I was already emotional but this nearly knocked me speechless. Couldn't recommend this place more.

I've visited a number of outdoor areas in the park, shooting as a volunteer for Findagrave. Many areas are very peaceful and well maintained, particularly the high profile courts and gardens. The museum is a nice touch, often with exhibits that would fit in just about any art museum -- no particular connection to Forest Lawn, cemeteries, or Glendale. It's free, and well curated. Unlike another reviewer, I've had no problems with security (even had a nice chat with them once); then again, my interest is not particularly in celebrity graves. I'm mostly photographing for relatives who don't live in the area, and always outdoors, since the mausoleums forbid photography. There's a good, if not completely comprehensive, online database. The minor downsides: Some of the older and hillier areas are not as well maintained, with some buried and many overgrown markers; the southern part of the park is somewhat close to businesses that have loud PA systems (auto dealers?) which can be rather intrusive.

My mom and I attended the funeral of our friend Caesar Castillo on October 1 1995 along with his wife, his daughters and several other friends. We really loved the seenery because there were plants everywhere. This place resembles a garden All the staff is very friendly and helpful, the only down side is that you see depressed people taking food and flowers to their dead relatives everwhere. But I personally believe that this is a very classy facility. I sincerely hope that when I die I can be buried or cremated here. Kudos everyone for keeping everthing so pretty and well-organized, keep up the great work!
