I received a gift certificate for a 60 minute massage for Mother’s Day. I was so excited to try out Casper Massage as it has been a very stressful few months for my family. I finally found a time that worked for me and my family and scheduled my appointment, only to receive an email a few weeks later indicating that her hours were changing due to personal reasons, which I can appreciate and totally understand. My scheduled appointment happened to fall at a time when she was to no longer be working, so I assumed that I needed to reschedule my appointment. The email sent did not specify that previously scheduled appointments would be kept. To my surprise, I received a call the day of my scheduled appointment confirming the date and time. Because I thought my appointment had been canceled, I made other plans and was no longer available to attend my appointment. I attempted to call back and explain my situation as soon as I received the message about my massage, but was only able to communicate through an answering service that I was unable to make the appointment that day. I later tried to reschedule, but despite my explanation of my situation and hope that she would understand that this was a miscommunication due to her email that was very unclear about keeping previously scheduled appointments, she was very inflexible, refused to take ownership of her mistake, did not apologize for any inconvenience her miscommunication may have caused me, and also refused to honor my gift certificate for a future massage. I could understand this if I simply did not show up for my appointment, but clearly that is not what happened in this situation. I am very disappointed and will not be doing business with Casper massage in the future and will encourage others to steer clear as well. The way this was handled was completely unacceptable.
